In this video, Singer/ Songwriter Holly Hannigan and I react for the first time to 'Hypa Hypa' by Electric Callboy. In this video, we analyse their amazing performance, explain and demonstrate their vocal techniques and we'll tell you what we think made it so great! I've always wanted to do a joint reaction with Holly and this was soooooo much fun! Electric Callboy made the perfect bridge between music and comedy!

Sky is blue because the ocean reflects off of the sun and the sun converts that reflection into helium that is then put in balloons. When the balloons get high enough, they all turn blue and thus, the sky is balloons.

I was in the army stationed in Germany in the mid 80's, and parts of this song sound exactly like the euro "disco" from back then

Okay, that was amazing. I wasn't sure about Holly until I heard her growl "cocktail bar." It was then that I realized she belonged in the Fairy Cave. What I really love about Electric Callboy is their sense of humor and the skill with which they've essentially crafted a new genre. I've heard a few different names for it, but my favorite is "Party-core." To use an Electric Callboy image as metaphor, it was wonderful to once again taste the juice of pedagogy on the lips of your musical insight....wait...no no no! That didn't work at all!

First of all, I've watched several videos on how to do growls and other harsh vocals and learned absolutely nothing but you gave one five second demonstration and I got it immediately. Genius. I agree with Holly: You really are a good teacher! Secondly, now that you've seen "Hypa Hypa," you DEFINITELY need to check out "We Got The Moves." Electric Callboy has really nailed this metalcore+technocore (aka "partycore") sound and every song they do is fun and awesome. Imo, "We Got The Moves" is one of their best and I think you'll have a lot of fun with it.

Fun Fact. The group of guys dancing in the end, are all german gaming youtubers and streamers. The guy in the middle is called Kalle Koschinsky. He is a former dance choreographer and worked together with them in other tracks like CastropXSpandau, Arrow of Love and Mc Thunder 2
100% and amateur singer, like in the shower or in my car or totally alone with my guitar type singer, and I learned how to growl in 10 seconds watching this video. No joke. A total growl and no issues or vocal discomfort. Best. Channel. On. TH-cam.

I was at a concert of theirs in Antwerp a few months back. And they don't need a back up choir, the audience definitely did it for them. I don't think I've ever been to such a hyped concert! It was amazing!

It´s the oxygen in the air that makes the sky blue ( same goes for water ).
I've been listening to growls/screams/harsh vocals for decades and I just can't get into singers who can't enunciate anything and just produce white noise after a while. I never realized that a lot of the difficulty is because of having to modulate your vowel sounds. Your analysis blew my mind.
Damn, Im the same, its one thing if i cant pick up a word or two during a crowl but when the entire sentance is just a growl version of a R&B run, it is outright annoying to have to look up lyrics for an entire some. With music from other places not in english I do that but having to do that from native speakers or people trying to sing in english makes me not want to listen to it, sad part is some of those songs have great instrumentals.

What makes the sky blue is light scattering when it hits atmosphere. Basically light of all colors pass through the atmosphere, and it just so happens that during day time the amount of atmosphere the light travels through makes it appear blue to us. Which is also why a sunset is pinkish and redish. When the sun is low on the horizon (like a sunset), it's light is going through more atmosphere because it is coming in at a lower angle than during the daytime, which scatters the light more, which makes it shift in color towards red.

Also, I love Electric Callboy and Hypa Hypa so much! I definitely recommend checking out some of their other stuff; a lot of it is formulaic (clean poppy singing edm, harsh metalcore, etc.), but I don't care because it's always so much fun and well done
We perceive the sky as blue during the day because the atmosphere scatters white light as it comes in. Blue light has a short wavelength and is scattered more than red - making the sky look blue. During sunrises and sunsets when the sun is low on the horizon, light has to travel further through the atmosphere, and blue light is scattered away while the red light remains.
