Today’s journey takes us to an isolated village, unknown to many, located on an island called Valanthakad in Ernakulam district. This beautifully landscaped area is also nicknamed the "Oxygen Parlor." You’ll soon realize how true that is by watching this video. So, let’s begin today’s adventure with a fresh new view-welcome, friends, to another 4K village experience!
Valanthakad Island is only about 9 km from Kochi. It is surrounded by the scenic Vembanad backwaters and has just 35-40 houses. Since there are no road facilities, each household relies on canoes for transportation. You won’t find large concrete buildings or long lines of vehicles here. As a result, the area offers exceptionally clean air. The island is also home to various bird species, with some parts covered by dense mangrove forests.

ഏകദേശം 9 കിലോമീറ്റർ മാത്രമാണ് വളന്തകാട് ദ്വീപിൽ നിന്നും കൊച്ചിയിലേക്കുള്ള ദൂരം, വേമ്പനാട് കായലിനാൽ ചുറ്റപ്പെട്ട പ്രദേശമാണ് ഇവിടെ, 35-40 വീടുകൾ മാത്രമാണ്, ഇവിടെയുള്ളത്, റോഡ് സൗകര്യം തീരെ ഇല്ലാത്തതു കൊണ്ട് തന്നെ എല്ലാ വീട്ടിലും തോണി നിർബന്ധമായും ഉണ്ടാകും, വലിയ കോൺക്രീറ്റ് കെട്ടിടങ്ങളോ, വീർപ്പു മുട്ടിക്കുന്ന വാഹനങ്ങളുടെ നീണ്ട നിരയോ ഒന്നും തന്നെ ഇവിടെ ഇല്ല, അത് കൊണ്ട് തന്നെ വളരെ നല്ല ശുദ്ധ വായുവാണ് ഇവിടത്തെ പ്രത്യേകത. മാത്രമല്ല വ്യത്യസ്ത ഇനം പക്ഷികളുടെ ആവാസ വ്യവസ്ഥകൂടി ഉൾപ്പെടുന്ന പ്രദേശം കൂടിയാണ് ഇവിടെ, ദ്വീപിന്റെ ഒരു ഭാഗം കണ്ടൽ കാടുകളാൽ ചുറ്റപ്പെട്ടു കിടക്കുകയാണ്.

This is wonderful. Thanks for making a video. Its sad, that Kerala has lost much of such beautiful villages in the name of development and mainly neglect of Govt. and people. Hope whatever is left balance is saved. But its the people of Kerala who has to support the villagers and village by vising as local tourism, but, but, not spoiling the beauty by plastics and wastage. Its sad that the Panchayat is not interested to help the villagers with waste management and non-use of plastics. Salute to the villagers who have kept the village as beautiful as nature gifted. It is such villagers who have to be given Bharat Ratna.

Hope and wish that atleast local Keralites as well Malayalees from all over the world visit such heaven on earth and boost the prosperity of the village without destroying or damaging the villagers heaven. And Malayalees abroad has to be the marketing agents for such a lovely place. I would rather wish that this village has to be identified and a total blanket ban should be imparted against plastic, concrete constructions, polluting vehicles and villagers given support in all ways to sustain in a natural way of life which one will not find anywhere else. Villagers should also be educated to keep their village clean without any mess.
