The moment i reach jamaica and exit through those doors, the feeling is heavenly. It is a sense of belonging, even hearing people talking it sounds like music to my ears. I have to eat kentucky, curry goat from Sonia's, patties, not saying i cant get food here, but when i get it in jamaica it is special🤸♂️. It would take a lot to explain the joy and love i experience whenever i go back home🎉🎉🎉
Well, it has been almost 60 years since I left for Florida back in 1965. Next to the people, I would say that I miss the mountains and the scenery the most. Other Caribbean islands are pretty, but nothing comes close to the cool mountains, magnificent views and flowing rivers and waterfalls.
Been awaiting this third instalment. Yes Country White, so you arrive in Csnada on April Fools day! That's what we call the 1st April in the uk 😂 Thanks for giving us further insight into both your adjustments. Koren full a bare joke lol Look forward to more videos with the two of you 🇬🇧
A chuu yah talk. Miss the patty for sure. Unmatched. I've *never* met a patty a farin that compares. But I find that they don't even make the patties like they used to..even in Jamaica itself. But it's a lot better than farin ones.. And that yummy patty smell before/as you enter the patty shop. My "I Miss" list is very long you know.. I Miss The patty The yam (when they used to be organic and locally cultivated) The pumpkin (Ever found any nice ripe dry pumpkin a farin like we had back home?) Wi star apple trees (purple and green skin.. mellow and delectable) Apple Rose Apple Orange Every one of the citrus fruits (every one. Including sweet-lime, ugly-orange and siville-orange) Grapefruit (sweet grapefruit, bitter grapefruit, etc.) Naseberry, sour-sop, jack-fruit Sweet-sop. Bananas (naturally ripened organic bananas. Ripened even on the tree sometimes) Paw-paw Tree mint (That smell..will heal you and give you aroma therapy 😆) Coconut (coconut water, coconut jelly, coconut oil, coconut drops, coconut rice n peas, coconut STUFF!😂 Sweet potato pone, bammy, sugar plum sweetie, busta, mint-ball, etc. D&G Soft-drinks (and the smell of them when you open the bottle...mmmmmm!) The coffee groves in full bloom. Of white blossoms and bumble bees kissing every one of them. Citrus in bloom. Rose-apple in bloom...SPECTACULAR!! The 'special coloured' dirt...which I won't mention (as it might give too much away😉) Roast breadfruit meals that my Granny would make My Early Education Teachers were the best in the world. ❤❤❤and appreciate them Love the PEOPLE!! My jolly Grand Uncle. His Son..who was so sweet and kind. His sister, my Grand-Aunt..who was so spry, smart, adorable and expressive😉 The neighbourhood seamstress..Who you'd see a few times a year to make your holiday clothes and school uniforms, and she'd comment on how much you've grown All the sweet and lovely people in my childhood, who helped to form the formative years The MUSIC! That post-colonial/post-independence well spoken English (and accents) A certain innocence and decency that was the natural tone of the land. The 'I Miss' lsit cyaan done yuh nuh😢 It is the vast amount of things that we miss...that make the few things that we DON'T MISS seem so exponential
Mel I have missed you ❤ I have been going to Jamaica to visit grandparents (RIP) and cousins since I was 11. Now at 45 and after many many visits, i am relocating to spend 6 months there and 6 month here. Then will make it 8 months there and 4 months here when I hit 50. What i love most about Jamaica....the nicknames😂. My "name" in Jamaica has nothing to do with my real name. Its a nickname and I just go along with it 😂😂😂😂 Also, mango walk during mango season. Most of all, i miss my grandmother 😢
Wow big move! I think I'd like to do the same ❤️ I am so happy for you that you went and saw your grandparents often while you could! By the way, I've been putting out videos like once a week, I guess YT didn't give all of them as much love lol. Check out the channel for more if you like? Https://th-cam.com/users/countrywhitejamaican 🇯🇲 🇯🇲 ❤️ big up with your plans!!
😘Blessings to You Both for a Wonderful Weekend. I miss everything about 🇯🇲Land I Love. I don’t wear hats myself, but I like wearing turtlenecks. More than anything I miss the fruits & fresh vegetables. After leaving customs, need a proper patty & a ting. While waiting for a ride, I’ll breathe in the smell of 🇯🇲& just listen to my people chatting. I also give thanks to the Divine for this Beautiful place where I was born.
When there's frozen ice on your windshield just pour some washer fluid on it and use your brush to sweep it off in no time. You can pour some around the doors too for easy opening. Advice strait from dung a Alberta 🇯🇲

What's up with nicknames?
Most Jamaicans have 1 or 2 nicknames that friends or family members gave them. Some of the reasons are really funny.
Like the UK but colder! Why not live in Jamaica?
Actually sounding better and better every day!!
