I liked the video. I was a young American soldier who was sent to Burtonwood in January of 1967. My friends in San Diego and I played 60s music, and used to try to talk like the Beatles, after seeing "A Hard Day's Night." I joined the army five days after high school to get my national service out of the way. I assumed I would be going to Germany, but got sent to France. I would have never believed that nine months later I would find myself between Liverpool and Manchester! Oh, the great days of seeing the package tours of bands. I would also like to thank the wonderful people of Warrington who made us feel so welcome. Everyone in town seemed to have a relative in the States. It was a welcome relief, coming from France where U.S. soldiers were hated! Oh, to pay just five bob for fish and chips, a film at the Odeon, or a pint again! When I build my time machine, you know where I'll go, mate! BTW, I played my first professional gig at the Warrington Co-op Hall. Oddly enough, I played my first American gig at Upton Hall, in San Diego, where Frank Zappa played his first professional gig!
I remember a lad called Chris erriman... i think??? he ran the then hogie wagon when it was sited by the ritz cinema bridge foot, the king size hot dogs were the best ever!!!
