My first car was a 1956 Chrysler New Yorker. Had a hemi and huge carb. Couldn't do anything to destroy that motor. Really liked it.
Another true Chrysler with the old time quality.
underrated styling. They truly looked unique compared to everything else.
Across the entire Chrysler line, 1956 is my favorite year because they are all the best looking and enjoy the first year torqueflite and additional power from the 354 Hemi.

My Dad owned a New Yorker station just like the one in this video when I was a child, same color and everything! Such memories. I have been a 300 fan for many years. I have owned the '62 H, a '64 K and a '65 L. The H was my favorite and I ordered the '63 shorter Ram tubes and headers and put these on my car, bored out the engine, etc. It truly ran like the wind! 136 mph and still winding out was the fastest I got. I ran out of road. I had an extra tach and this was true mph.
My dad bought a 1955 New Yorker Deluxe, black, and really enjoyed the hell out of it, even though he also was aircraft commander of a B-47 bomber, which was his main occupation.
A unique first muscle car achieved a 300 speed record in Daytona Beach of a flying mile.

The first car I remember was a blue 300. It was my mom's car, it was a beautiful car.
It looks a lot better than the new one they offer. Chrysler is going backwards and now offer the Chrysler 200. They should have went forward and offered the Chrysler 400 but they didn't ask me!
I LIKE THE 56 CHRYSLER TAIL LIGHTS BETTER THEN THE 55 CHRYSLER'S. THEY LOOK MUCH MEANER. THEY MAKE THE REAR END LOOK MUCH SINISTER

This was the first American production car to exceed 1 hp per ci ( 355 hp - 354 ci ) . Chrysler Firepower is probably the finest production American V8 ever produced.
Mr. Lazenby have sold the red exemple in background (1955 C-300 ). Now owned by a friend of mine.

My all time favorite car of the 1950's is a 56 Chrysler 300. The 55 is beautiful too but I prefer the 56 because they had the 340hp or 355hp 354 Hemi that replaced the 300hp 331 Hemi that came in the 55 Chrysler 300. The 57-58 Chrysler 300's were even more powerful with the 375hp or 390hp 392 Hemi...but the styling of the 57-58 is a little too over the top for my taste
