Ironic that you say that. The poet responsible for the success of Viswanath's classical films and Raghavendra Rao's commercial hits is one and the same: Veturi. One is not necessarily better than the other.
@Aru-dra Veturi garu is like a sword, which can be used for cutting/ harvesting of crops or for attacking depending upon the user. K Viswanadh used him for penning incredible lyrics while Raghavendra Rao used him for obscene/ double meaning lyrics. It is the user's choice

I am a Keralite but I had watched Saptapadi at Sri Rama theatre in Bobbili, Vizianagaram in the year 1982 January when the movie was shown during the pandaga time. This is the first Telugu movie I watched in theatre! I was just 16 years old and I had just entered Andhra Pradesh from Kerala state and do not know a single Telugu word, I enjoyed Saptapadi very much due to its captivating storyline and the songs. Even after 36 years I admire the songs of Saptapadi, especially Repalliya & Nemaliki nerpina which are classic and very rare in its kind. A very touching movie with unforgettable locations!

Great song.What a melody,,,!,! Being a Tamil I do not understand lyrics .but from 1981 onwards I use to listen and enjoy Saptapadi movie songs.

Legend K Viswanath prime years, had left many sweet memories of how Telugu culture looked like. It made things easy for the mad rush of ideas that used to occur in those teenage years of mine. Me and my uncle and few of my friends used to discuss for hours his brilliance in blending music, story, actors, situations, places and direction. He defined how a complete telugu fill should look like from a cultural perspective. Hats off to the great master.. ever indebted to him. BPR
