If you lined your slice with an agressive God Hog matting. The copper would would drop out behind the ripples and the insulation would keep going for a higher percentage of recovery. Fun stuff bro.
For the copper sluce, you need riffles down the runs and it would separate off any light material without you having to putty knife run it up the run all the time. Would not take long to weld up a set from scrap angle iron to just drop in.
@@ProjectShopFlwhat do you have in place of riffles? I’ve seen Jason from mbmmc put a layer of plastic film over top his shaker deck to push everything under the water. But riffles would be better I believe!
I still remember the old sluice from one of your first videos, always wondered why you stopped using it, it looked so easy to recover copper with it, very unique, have never seen anything like it since.
We use a dremmel with a little carbon cut off disk to cut off silver contacts.Very quick also a cordless grinder with very thin cut off wheels work awesome for cutting the alum crimps that found on your nuggets. You really need to make a hammer mill.I also have a reverse Helix trommel with a conveyor belt feed that has 2 seperate sluices.1/8 under and expanded over miners moss.As well as a Vortex sluice that is a seperate thing for our flour golds.
Wow I have missed this! Such a brilliant long video full of goodies. Loved the micro scrapping! That sluice is just divine, it was like 'Copper rush' of the scrap shop lol
You probably don’t have a freezer there but if you stick those pieces of copper that you’re trying to open up and a freezer and let them freeze overnight and hit them with all the insulation will break right off
Why don’t you use a big blue plastic container for a sump then drop a pond pump in that way you have the water pressure and your not stuck to where it has to go (water tap governs where it can go) you just recycle the water 👍🏻
What you're creating is what's seen on the gold shows that use a sluice box. Do a search for "sluice box for copper. All kinds of stuff for sale and videos. You save round plastic cones from old lights. Part of the plan?
I would try to focus on the bigger picture, rather than the hourly rate, if it wasn't worth doing it you and I would have thrown all that crap in the shred pile.
about 5000 of those contact ends that are a bitch to cut will get you about an ounce of silver value $20-$30 thats for the relay micro scrappin stuff now yer bigger breakers and the big stuff you get .99 cent bottle of white vinegar will get the tarnish off the copper make it perty again plus you sluicing way way back when is how I came to know your channel good stuff
For the #2 copper if you had a smelter you can turn it into ingots of copper
I do have one.

Thanks for the suggestion but the 2.0 version that won't be needed.
@@ProjectShopFl sweet cant wait to see it run

or lower water volumes so copper does not make it to the end.
That copper sluice is awesome for floor scrap clean up.
Yes! 👊

Thanks for sharing and a hammer mill is on the list. lol
you need to make thresholds in the gutter where the water flows, weld the plates by about 5 millimeters so that the copper lingers in them👍👍👍
Thanks for the suggestion
I take a shot every time you say, "To the max". It's totally on my Project Shop bingo card 100%.
😂😂😂
@ProjectShopFl still doing bingo!
The spree continues awesome to see you upload
Thanks!
You need to have Breakout Shield on that Grinder. Wheel break can take out eye or kill
Thanks for the suggestion
Sluice action was producing a Copper river. Gotta love that. Looking forward to the next rendition of the sluice.
Thanks!
I live to micro scrap, I wish I had all of that
I've got PILES of it. lol Videos coming soon.
@@ProjectShopFl can’t wait!
Now that you want to granulate copper, you could get a little devil forge and make some ingots 😉
I'm looking in to something like that.
Copper sluice need a huge amount of free water.
Yes!

😂😂😂😂
We need some hammer mill content!
some mbmmllc action.
One day hopefully.
JOHN DEERE S2 COOL CONTENT
Thanks!
If you classify your material before you run it you won’t have to pick out big chunks of trash and you will recover more of the 1-3% that runs off.
Thanks for the info.
When will we see sluice 2.0? You are awesome inventor.
Thanks, I have a few things do finish first
Get a small hammer mill and smash that little stuff up then easier to micro scrap.
Thanks for the suggestion

I have been saving up some stuff to make the cooler sluice ever.
love it
Thanks! 👍👊
The stuff that was run through the sluce, could it just be melted into ingots?
Yes in the future I will be doing just that.
I don’t know who needs to hear this but photo enforcement cameras hold 5lb of copper
😂😂😂😂
Shiney stream of copper
Can't wait to start building the new sluice
Wahoo
👍👍👍
Shiney streams of copper
When you say "metal" you mean steel. Copper is also metal.
Yes thanks for the clarification
Sluce box Worrier
