I feel so bad that so many content creators feel the need to explain why they change their schedules etc. and I’m over here like…if you simply say “hey, this is my new schedule,” I’m like “sounds good.” Period. I found your Harry Potter videos a few years ago when I was in a bad place and they brought me so much joy and laughter I’d sorely needed. I’ve been here ever since. I know you're probably never going to see this Kevin, but this was really moving. I legitimately started tearing up. I have never related to something more in my entire life, with you talking about not knowing yourself and trying to make yourself truly happy by getting rid of distractions. This is something that's true for everyone, not just content creators, but I think it's so powerful to hear a content creator talk about it. It makes it real. I have struggled with these kinds of things for years, and I still don't really know who I am as a person. I found your channel about a year ago and you immediately became my favourite TH-camr. And I think you adding in personal goals and things you are working on outside of gaming is amazing because it makes your videos feel more authentic. Having the motivation and same level of energy daily isn't easy, if at all possible. There comes a time where doing the same basic stuff daily gets to you. Be it work, exercise, video making, streaming etc.
@@ChristoWhat Don't forget about the steps of 1: Follow the algorithm religiously and keep track of what it promotes. 2: Basically win a 1 in 5 million lottery that a video goes viral and take the opportunity to hook new fans. 3: Make sure that you are acting likable and/or funny. 4: Find a quality editor, and hire them. (Some people edit themselves though) 5: Play games that aren't fun or do you don't want to because it's what is successful. 6: Make sure your videos are 8 minutes long so you can actually get well paid for your work. 7: Deal with the fact that even if you get a few thousand subscribers; which most channels don't get. 8: (Only a problem for people with low amounts of money) Buy equipment that could cost upwards of a thousand bucks. Yes definitely an easy job that anyone can do easily. Now go cry to someone who cares about you like your imaginary father.

I was there about a year ago and went through a very similar thing. It's hard at first, but it definitely gets easier over time. I remember being recommended a video from his stream archive channel a little over a year ago. I didn’t watch gaming content or streams so it was something I was a little intimidated by. I can honestly say it’s Kevin’s personality I’ve stuck around for. There’s been a lot of shit these few years, but feeling safe and happy in this lovely community has made me more adventurous (in the type of content I watch and me being interested in gaming, since I was too overwhelmed before).
When you were posting daily I remember saying to my partner that I was worried you were going to burn yourself out. I couldn't keep up with your content the way I liked so I couldn't even imagine the strain on you having to make it. I was really happy to see you drop down to less videos each week. Even though I adore your content, I knew it was for a good reason. Some of my other favourite creators only post once a week and that's totally fine with me. I don't think you should ever feel the need to explain or apologize for that. But I am glad you did because while it sucks to know how bad you were feeling, it's fantastic to hear the update that you are feeling a lot better. I've watched you play games I've never heard of or wouldn't touch on my own. I watch for your hilarious personality, not the games. So I'm definitely looking forward to the new type of content! Kevin, you have no idea how much of a positive impact you have on your viewers. The idea of posting videos of yourself screwing around playing video games sounds really dumb, but there's a reason why so many people have come to look forward to your content that you produce. Thank you for pulling back the curtains and letting us see the real you, weaknesses and all. I think people forget that our favorite content creators actually have real-world struggles and that fame doesn't just magically make you happy. Everyone needs a passion to follow, but we also need diversity. Doing the same thing over and over really does start to take a toll on you, even if it is something you love. Almost all TH-camrs gain followers by being charismatic, and all of them have fans who are in paradoxical relationships with them, so them basically selling their personality the rule, not the exception 💀
@@pink_waffle Yes, but a lot of TH-camrs will lose viewers if they change the content they produce, as Kevin has. 'Parasocial' relationships only go so far as long as you're feeding what the viewers desire. Most viewers on TH-cam will not watch videos over 20 minutes long, and Kevin's been doing videos way over that mark. The difference between Kevin and a lot of other TH-camrs is Kevin doesn't seem to be losing that many viewers on the long videos.

Honestly I've been worrying about your health due to the tight schedule and I'm GLAD to hear that you start to take more time for your passions (and just for your overall health, too) outside of gaming. So far I've always enjoyed your more personal uploads and I am looking rally forward to the art video in particular since that aligns with my own interests. I've watched your videos so far because I like the personality force behnd them, not so much because they are gaming videos. There are many videos that I cannot watch due to my own health issues and the very dynamic cameras (I feel badly nauseous within 5 minutes) and sometimes I just open your video anyways and let the voice run in the background because I want to be present for "a Kevin video". Life got busy and I wasn’t able to watch your channel as much anymore but I found this video and it was really comforting and inspiring. As someone who’s health has also taken repeated hits for a long period of time I find it inspiring and hopeful seeing Kevin stay so calm and understanding about the situation despite how frustrating it can be. It’s really discouraged me since I haven’t been able to do things physically and affects me mentally because I just want to feel normal for a longer period of time and it’s just been so long since I last felt that. Also, just as someone also trying to figure out themselves, it really inspires me to see Kevin take the time to figure out what he wants to do and try those new things out. The thing about Kevin if you've been following him since the how to annoy people I believe he actually made a brand new channel after his first one got successful. Think this was the time around when he owned a business. He was gone for awhile and came back and became even bigger
Kevin, everything you do is gold because you are such a quirky and talented performer yourself so don't restrict yourself to games. Like many youtubers, you give off the impression of caring very much about making the right choices to please your fans but this isn't the kind of fanbase you are at risk of losing easily! I like the idea of a change up and you've got to move with the times. Accidentally stumbled across your videos whilst trying to find PS1 HP1 gameplay in 2018 to relive my childhood and will now still watch your HP videos as my number 1 funny feelgood vice anytime I feel fed up - absolutely love you, keep being you
I am quite mentally disabled and struggle day by day with so many things, but no matter how bad and overwhelming things get your videos, and just when it comes down to it you talking as a person and just experiencing you is my happy place, I normally don't go a day with at least rewatching one of your old videos, you just make me feel okay and be able to laugh no matter what. I started watching when I was 17 in 2014 and in a really really dark place in life and mentally getting over being homeless. And for the most part haven't gone a day since without watching either your video of the day or an old one, it's a weird feeling knowing you have never met me before and yet you are such an important person in my life. For as long as it's making you happy keep making videos Kevin because you are making a difference in people lives doing this, and the day you decide you are officially done with it we will always have so many old video to watch and I know at least for me you will always be in my heart for the ways you have made very bad parts of my life so much better then they could have been, and honestly have saved it at certain points. I am very much looking forward to seeing all the new content you will be making and really excited for the skateboard video tomorrow, and I think it's awesome and will be really great for your mental health, and we don't watch you because you are amazing at games or because the games you play are stuff we all just love, some of the games are horrible and you know it but you make them good. We, the main part of the cult that watch like me, are here because of you as a person, and it doesn't matter whatever kind of content you decide to make because as long as it's you I know everyone that feels the same as me will love it just the same. There are already 6k comments so the odds of you actually seeing mine probably aren't high, but I'm hoping you do because the main point I am trying to make is just that doing this all these years, you have really made so much of a positive difference to so many of our lives and I know I am probably not the only one that has gone to your videos during a dark place and had it, you, prevent from doing something bad and stupid. So the way I see it you have honestly saved lives, at the very least I know you've saved mine more then once. Continue to always make videos that make you happy though, I know the majority of us don't care what it is we will love it just because it's you. I know you're probably never going to see this Kevin, but this was really moving. I legitimately started tearing up. I have never related to something more in my entire life, with you talking about not knowing yourself and trying to make yourself truly happy by getting rid of distractions. This is something that's true for everyone, not just content creators, but I think it's so powerful to hear a content creator talk about it. It makes it real. I have struggled with these kinds of things for years, and I still don't really know who I am as a person.
I found your channel about a year ago and you immediately became my favourite TH-camr. And I think you adding in personal goals and things you are working on outside of gaming is amazing because it makes your videos feel more authentic. I hope that someday I can be as brave and authentic as you.

Also. Having the motivation and same level of energy daily isn't easy, if at all possible. There comes a time where doing the same basic stuff daily gets to you. Be it work, exercise, video making, streaming etc.

1: Follow the algorithm religiously and keep track of what it promotes.
2: Basically win a 1 in 5 million lottery that a video goes viral and take the opportunity to hook new fans.
3: Make sure that you are acting likable and/or funny.
4: Find a quality editor, and hire them. (Some people edit themselves though)
5: Play games that aren't fun or do you don't want to because it's what is successful.
6: Make sure your videos are 8 minutes long so you can actually get well paid for your work.
7: Deal with the fact that even if you get a few thousand subscribers; which most channels don't get.
8: (Only a problem for people with low amounts of money) Buy equipment that could cost upwards of a thousand bucks.
Yes definitely an easy job that anyone can do easily.
Now go cry to someone who cares about you like your imaginary father.

@@DBswag_ Thank you! I really hope, from the bottom of my heart, you find some happiness this year. After the year I've had, I wouldn't wish it on anyone. I thought I had gotten control of my depression, but quite the opposite, and i was in denial. It'll be a slow process but one I'm willing to commit to in order to feel whole again.
Once Kevin got to the part about distracting himself from the problem, I slowly began to realize “huh, I think I may be in a similar position….” You a real one Kevie, keep doing what you’re doing.
I was there about a year ago and went through a very similar thing. It's hard at first, but it definitely gets easier over time. I'm very glad he made this because it reaches so many people and helps people like you feel like you're not alone. This entire cult is super supportive, which is part of the reason I have stuck around as long as I have.

I remember being recommended a video from his stream archive channel a little over a year ago. I didn’t watch gaming content or streams so it was something I was a little intimidated by.
I can honestly say it’s Kevin’s personality I’ve stuck around for.
There’s been a lot of shit these few years, but feeling safe and happy in this lovely community has made me more adventurous (in the type of content I watch and me being interested in gaming, since I was too overwhelmed before).
When you were posting daily I remember saying to my partner that I was worried you were going to burn yourself out. I couldn't keep up with your content the way I liked so I couldn't even imagine the strain on you having to make it. I was really happy to see you drop down to less videos each week. Even though I adore your content, I knew it was for a good reason. Some of my other favourite creators only post once a week and that's totally fine with me. I don't think you should ever feel the need to explain or apologize for that. But I am glad you did because while it sucks to know how bad you were feeling, it's fantastic to hear the update that you are feeling a lot better. I've watched you play games I've never heard of or wouldn't touch on my own. I watch for your hilarious personality, not the games. So I'm definitely looking forward to the new type of content! Kevin, you have no idea how much of a positive impact you have on your viewers. The idea of posting videos of yourself screwing around playing video games sounds really dumb, but there's a reason why so many people have come to look forward to your content that you produce. Thank you for pulling back the curtains and letting us see the real you, weaknesses and all. I think people forget that our favorite content creators actually have real-world struggles and that fame doesn't just magically make you happy. Everyone needs a passion to follow, but we also need diversity. Doing the same thing over and over really does start to take a toll on you, even if it is something you love. Almost all TH-camrs gain followers by being charismatic, and all of them have fans who are in paradoxical relationships with them, so them basically selling their personality the rule, not the exception 💀

'Parasocial' relationships only go so far as long as you're feeding what the viewers desire. Most viewers on TH-cam will not watch videos over 20 minutes long, and Kevin's been doing videos way over that mark. The difference between Kevin and a lot of other TH-camrs is Kevin doesn't seem to be losing that many viewers on the long videos.

Honestly I've been worrying about your health due to the tight schedule and I'm GLAD to hear that you start to take more time for your passions (and just for your overall health, too) outside of gaming.
So far I've always enjoyed your more personal uploads and I am looking rally forward to the art video in particular since that aligns with my own interests. I've watched your videos so far because I like the personality force behnd them, not so much because they are gaming videos. There are many videos that I cannot watch due to my own health issues and the very dynamic cameras (I feel badly nauseous within 5 minutes) and sometimes I just open your video anyways and let the voice run in the background because I want to be present for "a Kevin video".

We all came to this channel probably because we found a thumbnail intresting or a title cought our attention, but we are stayed because we genuinely fell in love with Kevin as a person. Life got busy and I wasn’t able to watch your channel as much anymore but I found this video and it was really comforting and inspiring. As someone who’s health has also taken repeated hits for a long period of time I find it inspiring and hopeful seeing Kevin stay so calm and understanding about the situation despite how frustrating it can be. It’s really discouraged me since I haven’t been able to do things physically and affects me mentally because I just want to feel normal for a longer period of time and it’s just been so long since I last felt that. Also, just as someone also trying to figure out themselves, it really inspires me to see Kevin take the time to figure out what he wants to do and try those new things out. The thing about Kevin if you've been following him since the how to annoy people I believe he actually made a brand new channel after his first one got successful. Think this was the time around when he owned a business. He was gone for awhile and came back and became even bigger
Kevin, everything you do is gold because you are such a quirky and talented performer yourself so don't restrict yourself to games. Like many youtubers, you give off the impression of caring very much about making the right choices to please your fans but this isn't the kind of fanbase you are at risk of losing easily! I like the idea of a change up and you've got to move with the times. Accidentally stumbled across your videos whilst trying to find PS1 HP1 gameplay in 2018 to relive my childhood and will now still watch your HP videos as my number 1 funny feelgood vice anytime I feel fed up - absolutely love you, keep being you
I am quite mentally disabled and struggle day by day with so many things, but no matter how bad and overwhelming things get your videos, and just when it comes down to it you talking as a person and just experiencing you is my happy place, I normally don't go a day with at least rewatching one of your old videos, you just make me feel okay and be able to laugh no matter what. I started watching when I was 17 in 2014 and in a really really dark place in life and mentally getting over being homeless. And for the most part haven't gone a day since without watching either your video of the day or an old one, it's a weird feeling knowing you have never met me before and yet you are such an important person in my life. For as long as it's making you happy keep making videos Kevin because you are making a difference in people lives doing this, and the day you decide you are officially done with it we will always have so many old video to watch and I know at least for me you will always be in my heart for the ways you have made very bad parts of my life so much better then they could have been, and honestly have saved it at certain points. I am very much looking forward to seeing all the new content you will be making and really excited for the skateboard video tomorrow, and I think it's awesome and will be really great for your mental health, and we don't watch you because you are amazing at games or because the games you play are stuff we all just love, some of the games are horrible and you know it but you make them good. We, the main part of the cult that watch like me, are here because of you as a person, and it doesn't matter whatever kind of content you decide to make because as long as it's you I know everyone that feels the same as me will love it just the same. Been watching since the Army RP days. Watched nearly every single video you've put out since them. It's been an amazing experience watching your channel grow and evolve into what it is today, and I'm so happy that you never gave up because you've become a comfort channel to me in a way. Your jokes always make me laugh and I've even used your videos to bring myself down from panic attacks. Your content got me through some the hardest parts of the past 5 years of my life. That being said, I'm also incredibly happy you're changing how you do things and when you upload to be more comfortable. I won't lie, it was noticeable when you were stressing yourself out. Your jokes were still funny and the videos were still good, but you could tell you were stressed. Hey kevin, long time viewer here (first video ive watched of you was the ouya vid) ive been watching your content for years and ive grown so much mentally and personally over these years and yet your content still entertaines me, and im sure im not the only one that will say this but ill watch anything that comes out on your channel at any time, if thats daily / every two days or hell once every month, your videos and you have been always great.

Okay, so I'm new here like been lurking for a couple of weeks but subscribed today. And when I found your channel and heard you say that you uploaded daily, I was concerned because that is a lot of work. I'm so glad that you're taking care of your mental health. Mental health and personal growth are such difficult journeys, but I am absolutely down to watch you fall off a skateboard if it's part of yours. I think you don't realize that you've got an inviting personality. For me, that's why I'm here, and not the chaotic Sims content. (Okay, a little bit for that too, but the point still stands.) I'm so excited for you, Kevin, and I can't wait to see what's next. :)

Kevin, I've been watching your content since 2018. And I've been lucky to see you grow even in that small timeframe compared to your entire youtube career. I think the 2 videos a week instead of everyday is brilliant. It allows us to stay updated with your content more easily because like many people, I'm not on youtube everyday and neither should you have to be. I'm excited for the expanded horizions, and I think this community will be really be accepting of the irl content (I mean, many people still even hold Baking Bad near and dear to their hearts). And for me personally, you could do a video about clay pottery and still make it engaging through your Kevin charm. We love your content and we love you, stay safe.
Admittedly, I did just recently discover your channel and when I did, I immediately noticed your personality reminds me of a close friend I had back in high school whom I miss so much.
