    This is great ! One correction is that Afak or 3afak doesn't mean "i want" but it means "please" so if you say "Tabla 3afak" or "3afak tabla Wehda" it would translate to "One table please".

      It can also serve as a way to get someone's attention as in "Excuse me"

    This video deserves way more views, really clean editing.
    As a moroccan, I can assure you that your arabic accent is quite good, especially for an English speaker.

      I'm so glad to hear, I was genuinely a little worried I'd have to take the video down because of my terrible pronunciation

      @LostAndAbroad1 it's a culture shock! We have just got lost in the souks and now retreated to the rihad to decompress!
      The Moroccan people are helpful, fun, kind and not as pushy as we were led to believe!
      TH-camrs can be judgemental...

      @destino2portugal I'm so glad you're enjoying it! Where are you? I really only found pushyness in Marrakech and even then it wasn't as bad as other places I've visited

      @destino2portugal I recommend going to Rabat as well if you can, this video was filmed in a place called Chellah and it's bloody beautiful there

    afak = please, I want = Bghit

      Yep, you're right - I absolutely made a blunder with that one. When I get the chance, I'll add a comment with the correction

    “AFAK” is a form of begging like please and it doesn’t mean i want in any context brother, and the example you gave means “please, one coffee” not “i want one coffee”. but just keep up the good work

    If someone asks "Labas?
    We usually answer with "alhamdo lilah"
    You used it but didn't mention it.

      You're right, that is an important phrase to know. I tried to keep this video simple, but if I do a second one I'll make sure to include it.

    Cool vid but come on bro , the desert stereotype thumbnail ? Morocco is not a desert wasteland

    • @LostAndAbroad1
      @LostAndAbroad1  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That's actually very fair. If I'm being 100% honest with you, I took that photo for a desert video that I never made and just wanted to make sure I use it. Check out my video on the Barbary Macaques, I think I do a decent job there in championing Morocco's geographic diversity.

      You are 100% correct - there is a pinned comment correcting me also. I over simplified my translation for that one
