I went and seen this play with my mom and dad at Shubert theatre on October 12, 1995. I was 15 at the time and it was the most beautiful play I ever saw. It was worth every penny we spent on it. It seems like it was just yesterday. My mom adored this play. My dad loved it too. My dad passed away from pancreatic cancer on March 7, 2004 and it brings a lot of memories of him when we went to LA in October of 1995.
Disney, Revive this Now, and Not a reimagining or an outsied company leading the way, a complete replica of the magnificent set, every exqusite costume, every exciting choeregraphed step, every wonderful effect that made this show the most magical and beautiful love story on Broadway!
ajitter89 YAAAAAASSSSS! It was part of our Broadway In Chicago package a couple of years ago. At the last second I noticed "Networks presents." When Be our Guest started my husband and friend looked at me were like, this isn't what you saw and I responded not even close. Bring back the original is right!!!
I saw this at the Shubert Theatre when it first came to LA. Best show I ever saw. I always wished them they made a recording of the LA cast because I loved James Barbour's voice as the Beast. A touring company came back through LA at the Pantages a couple years ago, and I was so disappointed. The show was edited and the sets and costumes were changed...more sparse. There was the addition of "A Change in Me" but the removal of three other songs. It just wasn't the same.
Well, this is actually the full version of the song of the original song. If you look up Howard Ashman "Be Our Guest", you'll hear him singing the original full version of the song. The man was brilliant!
and btw,as a spoiler to my rehersal to this (yes, im gonna be in a musical of this),for this, instead of the carpet coming in,all of the silverware (including me. im a knife) come into the stage randomly! after that,we go into place, and get in trouble by the waiters.after that, they do a russian dance!
I love disney and beauty and the beast but I think this lumiere is completely differen't from the movie lumiere. hes not classy and cool like the one in the movie, hes a bit creepy here :(

they couldn't of picked a better Lumiere for the Broadway version! GARY BEACH WOO!
Gary Beach has no equal, what a legend!
THEY NEED TO DO A REVIVAL
princepeterwolf Amen! I hope the new movie will lead to a revival.
Screw the "revival". disney should have released the show with the original cast on blu ray.
Susan Egan who played Belle from the Broadway version of Disney's Beauty and the Beast is also the voice of Rose Quartz from "Steven Universe".
And the voice of Meg in Hercules!!!!
And Lin in Spirited Away!
Best play production of beauty and the beast I've ever seen
Yet also notice how it isn't the end of the world, she immediatly picks it back up and gets right back in the rhythm,. That's a professional for you!
That is some seriously awesome choreography.
I KNOW ESPECIALLY THE KICK LINE AT THE END
3:40-3:44 Mrs. Potts!

Woo! Go Belle!
lumiere has thumb holes in his "candle hands" to stick his thumbs through and hold the hat and cane
This, Lion King, and Aida are the best disney theatrical musicals ever!!
Oh man that takes me back! I saw that on Broadway when I was 14 back in 1997 and it was amazing!
It's definitely the highlight song of this play and the movie!

Did Gary Beach do Lumiere?

@skippyproduction I seriously wonder if that was on purpose or if the cue was done a little too fast.
thats one way to work off your dinner
@NickiWickiWakiWoo Original belle as in Original broadway.
(Lumiere licking his lips and pelvic thrusting/twerkin)

Best song in disney history?
I love disney and beauty and the beast but I think this lumiere is completely differen't from the movie lumiere. hes not classy and cool like the one in the movie, hes a bit creepy here :(
This Lumiere is overdoing it... waaay too much.
Well the whole point of a theather is to overdo it. It's also good to note when translating a movie to musical to no be a carbon copy of the movie.
