King Diamond might be "under" Metallica in popularity, but he and his band are far above them in quality. It's not a competition, and they can never be replaced. I'll take both bands.
King diamond is stylish theatrical metal for people with high standard class Metallica more for the smaller brains who want typical verse verse solo verse type of songs

Funny, he claimed it has "much better production" than the 80s albums, but when I listen to it now it sounds kinda flat and overly 90s. Meanwhile Melissa and Don't Break the Oath have incredibly rich, dynamic production and sound better than 90% of metal albums. king's certainly entitled to his opinion of his own work though
In The Shadows sounds killer......the crazy thing is even though it was released in the 90's, it had an early 80's feel to it. I think it's their best sounding album.....not flat at all.
