The Stone goal and Hill save are legendary! As a Knights fan since their inaugural season, I feel like their defensemen take a lot of Blue Line shots… actually too many in past seasons. I feel like they have more confidence this year and getting better looks closer to the goal. This is a solid team with depth and ability to push the puck on goal.

I got to go out of the USA for the first time ever in April, went to Toronto to see the HHoF & most importantly the Cup. What an experience! Also decided to take in a TML game, a Tuesday game against Columbus. Very incredible, two bucket list items done for me in one trip (HHOF and see a hockey game in Canada) They let you touch the cup at the HHoF, I had no idea you could. If you (anyone) every get a chance, go! Also, on a side note, I could listen to Steve say about all day, lol. Been a fan since my friend in Toronto sent me the Ayers video!
For any leafs fans watching this amd reading the comments. The whole bennett being traded by trieliving needs context as context is king. His hands were tied with that trade and it wasnt on him. Bennett requested out as he wasnt being utilized and shived down to the fourth line or scratched altogether. The coach that did that was Sutter., and Sutter was not hited by trieliving. Ownership stepped in and hired Sutter. Sutter shoves Bennett down to the fourth line and then he wants out, whereas before he was solid third line center and did well when injuries came around too, on the second line. Sutter also coached a style that led to gaudreau wanting out, and when tkachuk saw bennett go, and gaudreau walk he wanted out too. So maybe it wasnt the coaching style that made tkachuk want to leave, but it did make two other players want to leave, and them leaving meant less talent and a worse chance to win. And please remember all of this arose because ownership went behind trielivings back and hired a coach he didnt want coaching the gm. Kmowing all of this it kind of makes sense why trieliving didnt resign to be gm in calgary. Remeber he was kffered an extension, but instead of saying yes and megotiating term and price, he flat out said no. Im pretty sure trieliving could sense a sinking ship and none of it came from his actions it came from ownership hiring sutter lol

There are also positives in that he drafts really well in the later rounds and star players seem to be on manageable deals. The only point I was making is that him trading Bennett and Tkachuk, and letting gaudreau walk weren't results of his actions but of a meddling owner. Calgary to me seems like the leafs 15 years ago too where veteran players don't want to go there and Trieliving may have had to overpay the aging talent to come there. Hopefully he can keep Dubas' trend of finding players that want to play here to win. I'll be interested to see how mext year's roster looks

I totally agree, but they don’t really apply the same ideology to high sticking penalties. I see high stick penalties get called all the time on guys who took a stick when they were on maybe a knee or like stone were leaning over and I wonder why those are called because the players stick wasn’t actually high but the player who took the stick just brought their head lower.
I'd summarize high sticking as "don't swing your stick at head/neck level and don't hit people in the head/neck." If any time a player dropped to his knees his head was fair game, players would be getting hit in the head a lot more (especially goalies). Think of Ovi's goal on his back. When he puts his stick over his body, that's not dangerous, but if a Coyote came by and slapshotted his skull, that would be potentially fatal, despite the relevant part of the stick being lower.
It's nice for Steve to acknowledge that Adin Hill punching Cousins, who was held by multiple people, was "bad too", but it completely ignores the fact that Hill was not penalized at all. No double minor. No game misconduct. It was "allowed".

I like the knights this year. They are a more workman like group, not trash talking and threatening anyone like years past besides their inaugural year, and just playing great hockey.
Steve. We don't hold it against Sutter in regard to Sam Bennett because he was only the coach for about a month when Bennett was traded. I don't think you can put it on Sutter when the previous coaching staff was doing the same thing. Bennett was sick of the Flames and the Flames org was sick of him.
You're not wrong about it being easier to break rules than play hockey. Of note is that after dirty Pete threw the axe chop on Leon, Leon did not score. So a slash and one game suspension eliminated the playoffs top goal scorer (still). Tkachuk/Bennett both easily instigated as much as Nurse did in this game and got misconducts that avoid suspensions. The NHL makes it so easy to make a joke out of itself.

I like the knights this year. They are a more workman like group, not trash talking and threatening anyone like years past besides their inaugural year, and just playing great hockey.

Steve. We don't hold it against Sutter in regard to Sam Bennett because he was only the coach for about a month when Bennett was traded. I don't think you can put it on Sutter when the previous coaching staff was doing the same thing. Bennett was sick of the Flames and the Flames org was sick of him.

You're not wrong about it being easier to break rules than play hockey. Of note is that after dirty Pete threw the axe chop on Leon, Leon did not score. So a slash and one game suspension eliminated the playoffs top goal scorer (still). Tkachuk/Bennett both easily instigated as much as Nurse did in this game and got misconducts that avoid suspensions. The NHL makes it so easy to make a joke out of itself.

Not his fault, he is just trying to compensate his lack of skill the only way that caveman-brain knows how. I mean, none of us wanna be Sam Bennett. After his playing career that dude is DONE, he surely cant place any higher than the 20:th percentile in any IQ-test anywhere anytime. He can thank his lucky star that player safety within the NFL is a joke, it has made his career. His natural born abilites are fit for prison, nothing more.
