I'd like to see OP test the cross time to kill instead of hits. He tested the amount of hits waiting for the afterburn to end. Would be nice if he could test the kill time if you constantly press M1. Maybe there is a small difference. Anyways, they shouldn't remove it, just add the bows. Although it would likely not make any difference in damage.
If you go to the rebreather cave right where you pick up the rebreather you see another book on the floor that looks like the same one Kelvin could have authored. I've not used debug camera on it so I'm not sure it's the exact same but it sure looks like the one.

TL;DR don't bother upgrading the machete (pickaxe is stronger XD), golf putter and guitar. Firearms are also not optimal if you intend to use them primarily on mutants as they deal the exact amount of damage gold or not. Just put the plating on the fire axe, modern axe, katana, tactical axe and maybe the cross?
Hey! i spawned timmy and he doesent even attack the player anymore instead he kills enemies and you can see him on the gps i think hes gonna be an companion very soon maybe hes gonna walk around the map and set up his own camps and we can maybe befriend him
They should change something else with the firearms and bows (if they add those). My idea is to increase either the reload time and time between shots. For bows they could make the range bigger. This could even be added to the Cross, making the time between hits faster (easier to fight multiple Demons at once)
Endnight if u see this comment, can u please add a stat widget for guns/bows and such? It's mildly annoying to not know what the gun upgrades do to the stats of the weapon without it. The shotgun does about 1/4th the amount of damage it did at EA launch because it used to be like the super shotgun from doom. Mutants are resistant to ranged weapons because all of them except the puffys don't have headshot weak points. The compound bow and crossbow are better than the pistols and hunting rifle because they do about the same damage with much easier to find ammunition.
its pretty complicated, you need to find a note with a crafting recipe, than you need to find pickaxe to mine some solafite, after that you need to build the thing you found a note for, it takes some golf cart batteries 3 turtle shells and a bunch of sticks stones and wires, you than have to put solafite in it and the item you want to upgrade, after you turn it on it takes some time to upgrade and in this time you will have a huge wave of every mutants and demons, it will be very difficult so you should choose a strategic place and built some traps cuz you wont do it with just a katana or shotgun and dont do it beside your base because the mutants are gonna destroy everything, after you kill all enemies you can take your upgraded item. you have to survive a wave like this everytime you want to upgrade an item (there is a commend "killradius 50" which kills everything in radius of 50 meters just saying(don't use it if virginia or kelvin is nearby))

You're using heavy attacks for all the melee weapons which is not a good test of the overall damage upgrade. I appreciate the effort for the video though.
Good to know that I wasted few hours on upgrading shotgun, pistol and riffle. Its also insane, that pistol and revolver are so weak, you can swing axe 3 times and kill somebody(thats good and realistic) but you need 15!!! shots to kill him, if that was a case in real life, nobody would ever need a firearm. While playing, I noticed how hard it is to kill something with a gun. Ammunition is not so easy to obtain, but bow arrows can be easily 3D printed and will still kill a mutant faster than a gun. Why do we need technological progress, we should fight each other with bows and axes, they are stronger.

So what is the purpose of a gun when bow can do it much faster in a cheaper way? My point is that this game is becoming more and more unrealistic with each patch, because the developers balance it for nerds who save and load 30 times to collect resources.
You have to go to a cave thats to the right of the mountain and in the cave theres a pickaxe and a blueprint for a upgrade station. You need 6 ore to upgrade and it takes a while
head cannon: guns dont do increased damage cause the ammo isnt solafite. the gun itself doesnt do damage its just a delivery system. the bullet is what hurts, thus the idiot dunked the gun in gold paint instead of the ammo
Seems like you lower the huts you have to do by 25%. I don't see this being useful ourside of like, the katana or whatever you wanna uograde to make it look cool.

It doesn't make the gun more powerful because the strength of the gun is in the bullets. If it were to really make the gun more powerful, it would be Do I have to change the bullet for the bullet or is it gold?

Do upgraded axes chop trees more effectively? I doubt it does but it would be a cool feature.
i doubt it does as its meant for a damage boost but you can make certain soups to make chopping better like that lumberjack recipe

I might be wrong, but the strength doesn't actually increase damage, only the max health.

How do you get the Solafite-made tools? Im assuming youd need the pickaxe but idk how to get it as im new to the game 💀
You need the Item-Platinf Forge, a blueprint you can find in the Pickaxe cave
