fair enough, if (when!) he is confirmed lgbt it will be such amazing representation for the community. a character who is developed, interesting and being gay is a part of them, not their whole storyline. we need more of this
I honestly don´t think Sherlock is a lgbt character. I think his relationship with Watson is just a close friendship and a deep respect. Clearly love, but not a romantic one. It´s fun to see what we want to see, but is the same as assuming Chirrut and Baze (rogue one) and in love because they care for each other is kind of vague. And if it turns out to be truth, Sherlock might be pansexual, because he has already shown legit interest in Irene Adler, a female character.
Sherlock has never shown a 'legit' interest in Irene Adler, except as an interesting person capable of getting the better of him. Even in canon, he wasn't in love with her or attracted to her, nor she with him. Sherlock is gay, John is bi. Everyone who knows Sherlock, especially in the first episode, assumes that John is his boyfriend - because they know Sherlock. John tries it on with Sherlock (the same way he did with Anthea and Sarah), who recognizes when someone is flirting with him, and turns him down gently. Sherlock has never demonstrated any attraction to women at all, but knows an awful lot about gay culture. A scene with John chatting up Corporal Lyons in HoB was cut for showing John being too blatantly bisexual. I hope they do end up together romantically, but I want them to be happy. They seemed pretty damned happy at the end of TFP, so I'll have to settle for that for now.
It has been said by Moffat that Sherlock is neither Gay nor Straight, so he IS still a part of the LGBT community, he may be considered a Pansexual, but what he truly it hasn't been said in proper words by anyone working on the show. All we got was what Moffat had said about Sherlock.
I'm straight myself, but this always hunt me when I think about all things lgbt+ people were through and are now through. I'm sorry. hope that in the future we will have a world where everybody are accepted as they are.

The concept of gender or sexuality has never influenced the way i think about someone - i may a woman, but i don't care about pronouns; i really don't. Visited Alan Turing's birthplace on my first trip to London, I'm so glad I found his story because of the movie. Visited Alan Turing's birthplace on my first trip to London, I'm so glad I found his story because of the movie.
