So far, I'm enjying the CV changes. Especially in my AA ships like California, Friesland, De 7 Provincien, Kidd, etc!
It's just really weird about AA build. After I switched my Friesland to full AA build, i just never get into a game with CV anymore whenever I play her.

@@jsl8082 same. I have had AA Cali for years. And I can make 5 CV games in a row. Then pick Cali - no CV. I bet WG trying to slow down CV hunters. But now so many CVs, that’s become easy to ruin their day.

Being new to the game, only reached 2 ships to tier Vi, and 2 carriers to tier Vii, I’ve not seen the impact it has on premium carriers or Legendary.
Having only tried the CVs since patch today, I must say they feel odd. Almost less fun to play. Out, return, out, return- much quicker than before.
I’d say the limited fuel hampers the ability to scout the map and aim to help team mates.
I need to read the patch notes. But I want I understand the impact to each individual CV, as to me they don’t feel consistent. But for instance American Ranger seems a little more effective (a CV I was avoiding before);
the Ryujo feels much more useful now that it drops more HE bombs, similar for Weiser too. I was also getting better damage totals with them, whilst the game felt frantic and less effective;
planes still get deleted (but we start with more?) so you fly out with more sacrificial planes; or have to pre dump more.
I thought the Russian CVs would be well suited to the fly out & return quick style of game. But I find these get deleted the quickest.
The immense AA at tier Vii makes it real tough. And those looking to up the AA at tier V too. It now is a death run every time, to get one hit.
The CV also feels like you’re in the carrot ship. Everyone wants a piece of you.
Maybe some CV damage needs reducing, some more than others. And maybe the patch mechanics are good - I just need to get used to them and adapt.
But been eye opening to have my puny ships shoot down so many planes. Did they change the number you need for the clear Sky medal?

Hey Dr ghost, the problem that the people it's having it's only on L tier CVs, got a lot better than the rest of the tiers, for example the Hakuryu now drops 4 torps and still do a lot of damage, one drop can do 32 k, it's kinda they need to nerf that a little more, that's the only problem that i think would make it perfect for all. Side note I don't have any problem with that and am happy for the airplane detection removed and this whole update.

Having only jumped on today, at tier iii, V and a bit of Vii… I think there’s a lot of stuff worth checking to see what changed.
Yes damage output maybe higher, but it’s not all a walk in the park. I think the edits are implemented differently for each ship.
I think the impact of fuel at tier iii and V is odd (bad for new players) and seems different across various countries. (Ranger seems to go further on its fuel).
The de-plane is still a thing with these normal CVs - with certain ships, not others.
It’s now a case of fly short, fire, return. Rinse repeat. It feels less tactical; less ability to help team mates.

THANK YOU!!! The first review I’ve heard that isn’t just in Midway saying it’s over powered. Maybe the top tier is strong but always. Isn’t that kinda the point? Like it’s the TOP TIER, it’s meant to be the strongest in the game! If carriers can’t do a ton of damage what’s the point of battleships being able to 100-0 someone? Isn’t that OVerpowered?
I’ve been playing CV’s a lot lately, and the only thing I hate is the fuel limits!! Right when you’re fixing to attack you get returned to the carrier😡 I agree with you about the decline in points now on damage! Yeah, I mostly play tier 3-5 I have terrible games in the higher tiers! I’m losing interest in this game!!

Legends has it's ups and downs. Sometimes fun as hell, other times it's just a shit show. Really that's gaming in general these days.
BB, CA, DD players demanded changes to CV spotting and force CV away from the back of the map. Now they're mad because they got what they wished for.🤣
FACT: Skilled CV players acquire high damage games by being close to the action. Closer to the enemy = faster, more frequent strikes on the enemy. New update forces all CV to be closer and the result is higher damage games for CV players who normally sit in the back.
FACT: CV players had incentive in the past to spot and not always farm damage. New update gives no incentive to spot and 100% incentive to be hyper focused on farming damage.
NURFING plane regeneration and flight speed will make a SMALL dent in a CV ability to inflict heavy damage because the 2 reasons I listed above is why CV will continue to achieve high damage.
In my opinion some of the carriers are quite broken, especially the Kaga which don’t EVER seems to run out of planes, but I have been enjoying my Graf Zeppelin. The spotting change I like a lot

My thoughts on the aircraft carriers.a rush before running out of fuel,not enough time to access the situation.a buff to destroyer players, aircraft carriers have to be moving now to get everywhere on the map,there's more kids than adults playing.the kids won't know or be able to use,they might as well bring subs to legends period.😮
Amen Tier and Legenday are the worst tiers, and I find the CV rework for tier 3, and 5 fine but some at tier 7 need rework Kaga being the big one, and I find that of a CV focuses you it ruffer then it was not not to bad, the thing I am hatimg are the d-day missions its like pulling teeth,
Brace yourself for a long rant from me a battleship Maine advocating for the buff of carriers except for the legendary tier once
Aircraft carriers were always very lacking pre-update they needed above a special the American and Japanese ones I believe that the current situation that they definitely overdid it but overall what they did seems pretty reasonable to me I don't even really play carriers that much and if you're complaining about carriers and were even complaining about them pre-update then you probably never played them also carriers are one of the best ship types in real life they should be good in the game and this is coming from a battleship Maine their biggest prey I believe that the people who complain about carriers just don't play them they're one of the hardest ship types to play and have the sharpest learning curve remember this is a game where you can get one shot from across the map carriers in their current state overall is a good thing they needed above and like I said especially the American and Japanese ones what they did only really helped the high tier carriers like the legendary tear ones having carriers be a genuine threat is a good thing it gives justification for AA builds plus before this update carriers were struggling to even get average damage numbers they're not busted if anything they need a buff as for the legendary tear ones and what they did to them they definitely need a Nerf because they are getting well above average numbers now my opinion maybe don't touch the lower to your carriers and leave them how they are tier 3 to tear 7 but the legendary tear carriers need a Nerf in their current state
I think two things are keeping CV's somewhat in check right now.
The honeymoon of the CV rework might be waning already given CV's weren't all that popular to start with. Nearly half my games last night had no CVs.
The overall skill level of this game is pretty low (especially right now it seems) so even if CV's are busted if the guy behind the controller is a noob and/or challenged in the neurological department he's not going to be all that much of a threat to play against.
I've been playing a lot more cv's since the update and they're definitely stronger in terms of damage farming, especially battleships (bbs getting crapped on? Nothing new there). In a sense they take even less strategy and teamwork to play now since they're pretty much all about just rushing as many planes out as fast as possible and doing as much dpm as you can which I guess is more fun for the cv player. Not sure how healthy it is for the game.
In the few games I have played in L tier the CV's are either death machines that can melt you, comeptely worthless, or more commenly aren't there at all, maybe I'm just lucky to not see CVs at L tier. Mind you I only have Montana, Ohio, and Brisnbane ships with best AA at L tier so that might be why the planes try to avoid me when there is a CV. But in general CVs are balanced and DD players need to actually get good at being a proper DD now. (Please spot, DD players, I beg.)
With the carrier hotfix that will drop on monday i see little to no reason to grind for Shoukaku (6100 dmg torps) as Lexington (6333 torps) is straight up better then her in every way except torp speed, rudder shift time, and he bomb fire chance. And if you using stock Shoukaku you are straight up worse then a STOCK RYUJOU!!!
Regen debuff is badly needed. There is no consequence to flying into Rochester AA with DFAA active in Kaga as the game is. can’t play heavies or cruisers with bad AA without dying to a nonstop carrier assault.
I can't stand it, I prefer the old CV's, maybe just increase the bomber group numbers and increase the hanger size, then they should have left it as that.
Not having the spotting from a CV is horrible when adding something it needs pros and cons, for the CV, as say a battleship they can cause tremendous damage, especially with the new rework, but they can also help spot destroyer for targeting.

I disagree as someone who gets fun from competition I find the higher tiers more rewarding as I'm beating people who've played a lot longer than me and have maxed out commanders, I don't play low tiers and I'm not really enjoying many tech lines. I was enjoying my Congress and Lushun before the update but getting half healthed by HE bombers 30 seconds into a match is just stupid.

Fleet battles, ranked, and other ways. I usually do my Legendary and Tier 8 Premium supplies in AI since I am NOT going to gamble in Standard. L Tier is a shit show.
@@DrGhostTH-cam Yeah, legendary is the most expensive and least fun tier to play at, most of the time. It's like you're being charged to have less fun or just pure stress. Hell, one in a blue moon dinking around at t1 is usually more fun for me then watching my team get blown off the map in 5 minutes at LT.

@jsl8082 One of the easiest improvements to the game would be to make L8 and Legendary more profitable. Smart players don't play and hangout in lower tiers. Therefore, there is no natural progression for players as they get better. Ideally, you would have it that inorder to develop commanders to their highest level or the top ships, you have to earn special currencies that are only obtainable the higher you go. If you don't play up the top, you don't progress. Steel was an ideal way to do this, but they failed to do it properly.

This is such a typical WG thing, they make T8 and LT expensive so people don't only play high tier and then no one wants to play high tier anyways because the experience sucks so making it expensive ended up being totally unnecessary.
Agree. CVs are finally playable. And we have all the necessary tools and skills to improve AA. If you ignoring CVs - your problem. I have no problems at all. (no T8/L, I have no idea what's going on there)

Carriers should be strong. They were the monsters of the sea in WW2. No reason for CV's to be weak in-game. I like the changes. Makes carriers worth playing now.
