  • Going for the REL 3D sub set up using 3 T9i's. Since the introduction of the x range, prices for the flagship t9i have dropped. Making perfect sense to try and achieve full range from my home theatre system.

Nice work Joe, what the REL! This is uncharted territory, multiple attitudes simultaneously... But, sounds like you just might need first officer Spock counsel, don't worry you won't be aware of his interference, he embraces technicality and also Scotty's ears to pass this system off... We can get more outttaa the system Captain!

you man are a genius I see what you did there with the Kevlar drivers, I see your making sure all frequencies arrive at the same time ELIMINATING distortion naturally without any filters, phenomenal 😏👏👌

Did you also have a look at the HT series, made more for movies looking at a lower freq response? Would they work better for HT? Did you also use the .2 LFE on the AVR?

Great video. The room looks quiet small for 3 subs. Isn’t there a link between the room dimensions and the lowest frequency a REL can excite?
I just use 2 REL T Zeros configured one to each front channel as REL told me that my MA Radius 90s needed a high crossover frequency - about 80 Hz so the smaller sub speakers complement the tail off from the very small Radius 90. Works well for a room that about 20 ft by 12 ft. I just use two matching R90s and centre. All the 90s are on very study MA stands lifting the treble and mid to about listening height. Both are wired as per REL advice with high gain cables from each front speaker and both are linked for AV via the .2 from my Marantz 1711. However all stereo is taken from a hifi 8006 amp to give me very hires full lossless audio in stereo using Apple Music digital master recordings and the excellent iFi Signature DAC.
So for stereo it’s a very precise and accurate soundstage in a medium sized lounge. Classical organ music is the best test for how low a system can tune into a room.
Given you have large front speakers is there much gain from so many subs? As you used what looks like a Roon mic type setting won’t that decrease the bass to balance the sound?

Your significant other is not going to like it, but you're also going to want a receiver that also has IMAX Enhanced so you get more picture on movies that have it. Like the Arcam AVR10. It's like I just upgraded my OLED to a 75" when I play movies with it.

Not room correcting low frequencies? That’s a nonsense from Rel
