Thank you! I'm looking forward to get the MLS license, even if I ha some disabilities issues but it really motivate me since I use to be a Jr. Loan officer (but without a license 😔)
I would. Simply because the summary book is more condensed so you will be able to retain the info better and understand your 20hr pre licensing course more.
Just found your channel and subscribed. I appreciate all the info you share! Question, besides the pay and connections you make, what are some of the other benefits of being a loan officer? Pretty new to all this so I’m not sure if I’m using the correct terms
One of my favorites is that you are a business owner. That means you will have to learn how to operate and grow a business. Really exciting stuff especially when markets get rough. Entrepreneurship helps get the best version of you out. Hopefully that makes sense but yeah that is another one of my favorites.
@@EnriqueGreatness awesome! Thank you. I came across loan officer careers by researching real estate investing and I’m wanting this to be the way I break into the industry.
Hey Enrique, just discovered your videos today and enjoying the insights, thank you. New immigrant to the US with Bachelor's degree here and interested in becoming a MLO. I would prefer to first work for a bank for learning purposes before going out on my own, but can this route work? It looks like job postings all have experience as a prerequisite, so how does one start out? Any advice appreciated!
Hello Justin! Pleasure to meet you and thanks for the support. Really means a lot to me that you enjoy the content. Working at a bank would be a great start because of the knowledge and experience you get. Becoming a loan officer right away can also work but it is vital you have a great branch manager and find a great company to work for. I work at American Pacific Mortgage and they love hiring new talent with little to no experience. Email me and I can connect you with them. But yeah both can work!
You said they run your credit? Why? And also what are the credit requirements? Could having not so great credit actually affect your ability to get licensed?
Thank you Sir! I have the CA DRE license but I am not sure which one i should choose for education, there are several options. Is it New License? I couldnt find Pre-licensing education.
It will be the new license option. Pick your state and then new license. From there it will take you to a page to pick a package. Make sure it includes the 20hr NMLS education along with the state you chose
Hi Enrique, love your channel, so much helpful info. If I am in the middle of studying for my real estate license, am I able to be a loan officer and realtor for clients on the same deal in CA if I do the DRE license? I am a little confused how I can do that - my parent's realtor was able to help them buy their house and approve their mortgage loan but I hear conflicting info about how realtors are not allowed to do both on same transaction? Do I need a real estate broker's license to do both or?
Yes you are able to do that. However, there are some compliance laws and regulations you need to adhere to. Also, some companies allow this and others don’t, so this will be another factor.
I don’t know the exact education requirements but I do know that you don’t need a bachelors. I would contact the NMLS customer service, they are the best!
Hi Enrique! I am going to be starting my course next week. After I am done and pass the exam (hopefully on the first try!) you mentioned submitting the application. I noticed that the GA NMLS application mentions needing a sponsor or the application will not be complete. Am I supposed to get a sponsor beforehand? Do you know what that is about?
Sponsorship is something you get once you find a company to work for. I’m not sure if it’s a necessary part of the application but you do need it to start originating loans. You can always cal NMLS their customer service does a great job
Your link goes to a platform different than “learn mortgage” Mentioned in video. Just curious why? Thank you for defining a 20-hour pre-lic course I’ve been looking for that.
Timeframe and flexibility. The 14 day offers flexibility to come and go over the 14 days to complete the course. The webinar is structured, and the student must be in class each of the session timeframes with their camera on.
I wanted to do the MLS license first then real estate can I get the DRE one or do I have to be a real-estate agent first to get that ? I was going to do MLS license first then Real estate license after .
@@EnriqueGreatness Do you know if the 14 day course package allows you to do the course in your own time frames? it shoes 9am-12pm daily for 14 days. ?
You do not need to work for a company to get license you just wouldn’t be completely licensed. In other words you wouldn’t be able to practice because you aren’t at a bank or company yet
Hi Enrique, thank you for the video! It was very helpful. My husband is going for his license and also lives in CA. He owns his loan brokering business and is not interested in going to work for someone else. Does he still need to be sponsored?
Just starting out in my research of this topic. So, does anyone know if one would be able to use their GI Bill to pay for the course? Are the courses accredited? Thanks!
It should show up there and it shows the dollar amount cuz it costs a couple hundred dollars. I would call the NMLS. They are super helpful and can guide you through the NMLS website cuz I even get lost in that thing lol.

can we get an update for 2024? No Longer have the Compucramp option? Website layout has changed as well.
Great job!!!!!!! Teachers should learn how to teach and break things down like you!!!
I didn't realize how much I didn't actually learn just from the 20hr pre-licensing course. Compucram got me right! I passed earlier today 🙌🏾
Congratulations!!!!
Was compucram worth it?
You made it look super simple! Thank you!
Thank you Enrique! I’m looking to become an MLO, but the more research I did the more overwhelming it felt until I found your channel! ❤
This was EXTREMELY helpful!! Thank you so much for this amazing video!!
Glad it was helpful!
You made me pass my nmls test on your previous video
Awesome! ✊
Love the step by step breakdown, it's super helpful, brotha!! Appreciate this.

Getting ready to sign up for the MLO course just trying to decide which type (two types in S.C). Great videos!
Thank you for the info
Thanks for the discount code. I saved 20% off of the class that I just purchased.
Thank you! More content coming soon
Thanks man!
Hey, thanks for all of the info! Do you recommend completing the summary book study guide before starting the Learn Mortgage online course?
I would. Simply because the summary book is more condensed so you will be able to retain the info better and understand your 20hr pre licensing course more.
Thanks for this video. Really helpful. To confirm, I can purchase the pre-licensing education package that already has the compucram included yes?
Correct 👍
Thanks for this video Enrique!

Great information,
A small question- Can foreign people apply for nmls certificate?
Great info!
You said they run your credit? Why? And also what are the credit requirements? Could having not so great credit actually affect your ability to get licensed?
They don’t specifically say what they look for or what the requirements are. For more info I would call the NMLS. They have great customer services
Extra pro Compu Cram. It made a huge difference
Thank you for your info! By the way the discount link that you provided is not working. Can you please fix it? Thank you!

Hi thank you for this content. I thought you recommended MEC for NMLS?
I have used both and work with both. Learn mortgage is the only one who provides a discount code though.
@@EnriqueGreatness hey thanks for the feedback. I plan to get an NMLS with a DRE endorsement. Thanks 👍

@@EnriqueGreatness Also, would you recommend the 14 or 7 Day Package?
I did 14 day. Unless you have 7 days to stay home and do the course 14 is best.
@@EnriqueGreatness Ok great! Thanks again 👍🏽
On compucram, which course should i choose to get the loan officer test questions?
Can you still get your MLO license if you charge with Domestic Violence ?
Not sure. I would call the NMLS and check they have a great customer service team.

Mentioned in video. Just curious why? Thank you for defining a 20-hour pre-lic course I’ve been looking for that.
Learn mortgage is now OnCourse.
@@EnriqueGreatness thank you.
What is difference between a 14 day and webinar ? Thx!
Timeframe and flexibility. The 14 day offers flexibility to come and go over the 14 days to complete the course. The webinar is structured, and the student must be in class each of the session timeframes with their camera on.
Is the 20hr pre-licensing course intructor lead or is it entirely self-paced?
The online ones usually let you choose how much time you would like for completion.
I wanted to do the MLS license first then real estate can I get the DRE one or do I have to be a real-estate agent first to get that ? I was going to do MLS license first then Real estate license after .
Might need the DRE first but I would double check with the NMLS. They have a great customer service team.
Do you recommend the option for the 20 hour course in Webinar style? that is an option when choosing. I'm using your discount link.
I don’t remember if I did mine webinar style but I did do it online. And thank you 😊
@@EnriqueGreatness Do you know if the 14 day course package allows you to do the course in your own time frames? it shoes 9am-12pm daily for 14 days. ?
I would double check with them in case it changed but for me it simply gave me 14 days to complete the course.
To obtain license do you need to work for a company. It says do not apply if you don’t have certain credentials from licensed contractors.
Not sure about that. I would assume if he had his own brokerage he would be sponsored. I would double check with the NMLS
Is the course like a zoom class or is it assignments and videos? Does anybody know
The webinar runs through Zoom live and then there's the online instructor led that's more of a self-paced model not live.
Just starting out in my research of this topic. So, does anyone know if one would be able to use their GI Bill to pay for the course? Are the courses accredited? Thanks!
Great video, I have a question:
Can you become an MLO with an ITIN, no SS #?
Not sure. I would call the NMLS; they have a great customer service team.
Do you have to have perfect credit to get your license?
I would content the NMLS. Their customer service is great. It doesn’t specify and exact score
Questions after I sign up how long does it take to take it
For the test of the course
Question about step 5. How to submit the application on nmls website? I didn’t see any on my account. 😅
I just passed MLO test two days ago.
It should show up there and it shows the dollar amount cuz it costs a couple hundred dollars.
I would call the NMLS. They are super helpful and can guide you through the NMLS website cuz I even get lost in that thing lol.
@@EnriqueGreatness thanks a lot sir!
How do I find a mortgage company to work for
Hello , you are amazing... I love all your videos. thanks for sharing all these great contents. SUBBED and LIKED ! a fellow creator,,..///
Thanks for the support! Appreciate you 🙏
Do you need a bachelors degree to become a Mortgage Loan Originator?
Nope
@@EnriqueGreatness Thanks Enriqué 💋
What do they look for in your credit?
They don’t really give specifics
What is difference between a 14 day and webinar ? Thx!

What credit score do you need to be a licensed LO?
They don’t have an exact score they just say that they do a credit evaluation
What about collections on credit report? Can those prevent from getting license?
Same here they aren’t too specific. You can always call the NMLS for questions they do a pretty good job
Great content! How long did it take the state to approve your license after you submitted your complete application?
About 45 days. It was during Quarantine so they were short on staff I believe.
Thank you!
can a green card get a license for CA-DFPI?
I believe so but double check with the NMLS. They have a great customer service department.
Do you mean green card holder can get license?
I would double check with the NMLS to verify
thank @@EnriqueGreatness
