    You might could try putting some antiseize on the tapered portion of the shaft under the prop, it should help keep the shaft from corroding and making the prop stick.

      anti seize has a bite back effect, prop will slide in more than necessary and crack with the pressure, i've seen it many times with compressor flying wheels.

    The shaft they provide with the kit is super heavy duty! Aint nothing going to break that shaft on the water!

    How do you get a melted one out because I just bought a boat and the bushing is melted

    • @BlackWarriorLures
      @BlackWarriorLures  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You use vice grips and pull like your trying to pull an oak tree out of the ground.

    • @BlackWarriorLures
      @BlackWarriorLures  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Generally with the pink/orange Delrin types the melted one won't have much play in it at all. The wooden ones develop a lot of play and have to be replace more often. That's why they originally switched to Delrin. But it melts if it is run of water for too long or gets tanlged in fishing line or what have you.
      This new material doesn't have any of the problems of wood or Delrin. I don;t know what the material is, but it is so much better.

    • @BlackWarriorLures
      @BlackWarriorLures  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I forgot to say that you have to remove the screws holding the bushing in as well. Also running a Delrin bushing in the water, the water cools it off.

    • @BlackWarriorLures
      @BlackWarriorLures  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, the manual states to use threadlock. There is good reason as the Thailanders have spent 50 or 60 years perfecting the design and found that threadlock on the bras propeller nut is the most secure way to mount it.

    • @BlackWarriorLures
      @BlackWarriorLures  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm confused about what you're asking. Are you asking if what I said the word delrin. Or are you asking if the material is made of delrin. If the later, no, it is not made of delrin. I mentioned that the kit originally came with a delrin bushing. The problem with delrin is that is melts given the friction form the shaft if you run it out of water over time. If it get caught with weeds or fishing line it will melt.
      This is a new materials, and as I said in the video, Mr. Dobbs isn't saying what the material is.

    Hello My Friend I am watching again!! You are a good and true man. Information from a life long Heavy equipment AG Mechanic and Engine and Transmission builder. And Specialty equipment designer and one man small buisiness owner .Thank you for showing truth!!Information I am searching for from Swamp runner about their Bayou Bushing just a round about material that those bushings are made of for $100 extra purchasing a shaft. True info for you ok --Delerin is 3M composite Plastic low pressure low heat AND HERE IS THE KICKER IT IS NOT MADE OR RECOMMENDED IN ANY USE WITH CONTACT WITH WATER !!! Can You tell me if the Bayou Bushing is a type of plastic PLEASE !! Truth is There is no type of plastic polymer or ptfe or hdpe or umhw plastics designed or allowed by the manufacturers specifications to be a bushing or bearing in contact with water. The Truth My Friend !! Not even oil impregnated sintered bronze bushings ie. Oilite bronze bushings they try to sell ARE NOT RECOMMENDED TO RUN IN WATER !!! Only CARBON GRAPHITE BUSHINGS ARE DESIGNED AND RECOMMENDED FOR WATER AND GASOLINE AND NON OIL BASED LIQUIDS. That is why I am asking you if the BAYOU BUSHINGS ARE A TYPE OF PLASTIC BUSHING--High Density Carbon Graphite bushings are basically a carbon steel type of bushing with no steel ingredients in it . They are only graphite formed under high temp and pressure. 99.99% carbon. Thank you for your time. Please get back to me on if the Bayou Bushings are a plastic. I Love Your Videos My Friend !! I have new project building soon. 1438 .052 Aluminium hull jon boat make shallow water ( 5 inches or less ) Sand bottom river runner in north east nebraska with a long tail 13hp Predator and one of a kind sand water proof hull and outdrive !! It is a major challenging designing feat. I will do it. I am self taught. I have John Deere Certs and welding degree and electrician degree from trade school in the 1980s. I love to design and build ONE OF A KINDS in anything : ) Gods Bless You Every Day My FRIEND !!!!

    • @BlackWarriorLures
      @BlackWarriorLures  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't know what it's made out of. After two years of using it, it's just getting broken in well. With my newest motor, the 420 Predator, I just got the standard shaft, the non-Bayou Bushing. The standard shaft no longer has the pink Delrin bushing at all, so even the standard shaft is better. It's some kind of green something. You're better off spending $10 extra dollars for the 100 inch standard shaft.
      You can always get the Bayou Bushing later if you want. The wooden internal bushing and the current rear bushing have powered the whole country of Thailand for, what 60 years?
