    I have a Model X Plaid and the thing I don't like is the windshield. Too much sun on sunny days. I put more tint at the top and that makes it much better. After one year and 2 months I've had no need for service except for one minor issue which the mobile service took care of. At my age of 77 the last thing I wanted is to drive was an expensive Mercedes or Cadillac. (How boring!!!) Our grand kids love the falcon wing doors and see the car as a rocket ship. Thanks for sharing. Good idea for a video.

CA has bunch of S+X, but here in Germany for example you maybe see 1 X in 1000 teslas you see, even S is actually pretty rare here, it's like 99% 3+Y so seeing especially an X with the falcon doors is really cool. I love my 2023 Model X for all the reasons you gave. Didn't get the white seats, so no problems there. So far (fingers crossed) there have been no service issues in six weeks. My one complaint is that the car overheats the garage when charging. I had the same problem with a loaner Model S, but never with my previous 3 or Y. Chris, I know you love the FSD part of your channel, but I do have a suggestion for you to think about for your wife’s Model Y. Many, if not most, of what you have with the Model X you can get via after market accessories. They just came out with the Model X/S yoke for the 3/Y. You can get the driver’s screen, too. The auto doors are available, too. It would be interesting since the cost should be much less that having the X. It would even be great if Tesla created a Model Y+ that includes these sort of things. In other words expand the models available. Just a thought. I love your FSD videos and enjoy watching them all the time. Keep up the work.

    I have a 2022 model x plaid I got it back last February. We were in service 30-40% of the first 9 months. 2 weeks at a time. Always some weird problem. Trim popping off, doors stopped working, front half shaft replaced 3 times.. luckily it's been like 6 months without having to bring it in. I hope it's all in the past. But we have had to replace the very expensive tires from wear after 25k miles and they said it's normal for the weight and torque of the car. We did ceramic coat the seats, and they stay nice. It's definitely not a value per dollar car. But I do still enjoy driving it and don't know what else I would get. I have a pre order in for the EX90.

      I mean they are super cheap to rent here for a week or two and even buying small trailers is really affordable.
      Only issue for long trips is that trailers are limited to 100 km/h (after an addition inspection - which is a no brainer) 80 km/h regular ones. So you can't run the regular 180-200 km/h travel speed you normally would if the interstates are free.

    That must've been some nail to destroy the tire completely! I've run over bolts and nails like crazy in my low-pro Honda Civic and they repaired the tire just fine 3 times now...

    • @DirtyTesla
      @DirtyTesla  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep, we've had several tires repaired as well (at the same discount tire that told us this tire was destroyed). He said it was because of where in the sidewall it punctured/ripped.

    Loved this video, Chris! Appreciate the pros and cons from you and Stephanie as we were considering replacing our Model Y with a basic Model X and transferring the FSD. The cost would have been the same as what we paid for our Model Y, but would gain all the space.
    We decided to wait for our Cybertruck, instead. We’re in Central Florida, so we would love to connect with you next time you’re in Florida!

    • @DirtyTesla
      @DirtyTesla  ปีที่แล้ว

      Main issue was just the high payment, but many things factored in. Also the fact we'll be getting the CT which will probably be expensive. We could swing an X and Y, but not an X and CT.

    The people who 'don't like' the Yoke are the following:
    - People who have not lived with it long enough to get used it
    - People who track the car a lot
    Almost everyone else eventually prefers it over a traditional steering wheel.

    • @CJLHD
      @CJLHD ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Agreed, the only time I’d consider putting my wheel back on is if I’m doing an autocross or something. I prefer the yoke for every other driving situation.

    What Steph says goes, Chris! 🤣Fo shizzle, tho...
    We definitely all have our preferences. Great video, yo!
    It's those lil things that 'this' vehicle, regardless of make/model, is great and 'that' vehicle, same make/model, isn't.
    The seat color options... Tesla only offers white and black and they're leather. I personally don't like black leather seats because black attracts heat. I'd rather have black cloth seats than black leather. So the only options are to get the white seats or cloth seat covers.

    You guys are doing a service for the next owner, by buying the car new and working out all the problems. Now someone else can get a more affordable payment buying it used. I told the Now You Know guys to sell Sparky (Zac's 2016 Model X) and replace it either with a new X or a Y. Tesla fans do a great service for the used market by constantly buying new cars. A lot of 3's & Y's will get traded in for Cybertruck. Going into a good time for the used market.

    My Model X Plaid, other than the stuff to fix when delivered, has been to service once for a bad computer. Though it never stopped driving. I’ve not had any squeaks. It’s been amazing. And no one in LA cares about the FWD’s. They only want to be seen being wowed about anything if it’s a movie star😂

    Great review. Going from 2021 Y to 2023 X, picking up on Friday. Super excited and nervous! When I first got Y I had a few service appointments in the first 3-4 months but haven’t had any since. Curious what service frequency will be like on the X. If I hate it after 2 years will probably trade it first a (hopefully) Juniper 2025 Model Y!

      They are NOT the same car. It's like saying I can't see why I would pay more for Mercedes S Class than the a cheap Chevy. You get what you pay for. But hey enjoy what you get; but you will hate the ride of the Y compared to the X. They are drastically different in quality and experience.

    • @DirtyTesla
      @DirtyTesla  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah it'll get adjusted at tax time, so basically the positive of the X will be income while the negative of the Y will be an expense.

  • @brianjohnson2650

    Are you absolutely sure your new HW4 Model Y will have the new radar, etc? There are reputable sources (eg. Green the Only) that question the presumption that just because a Tesla has the upgraded HW4 cameras that is also has the options for all other HW4 hardware features. It's frustrating for many recent Tesla buyers.

      They went bonkers making all doors motorized on the X, but their priority now is to simplify production. Adding automatic doors goes against that.

    Hello, considering Tesla strongly. At first it was the Highlander, then the S Plaid, now the X Plaid. Why?n. 86k for plaid?! No extra cost for 6 seater, no extra cost for red, and just the tremendous drop in price for the plaid. It’s still expensive but so much more palatable now, especially for what used to be additional costs are now gone…..enjoying your videos and really hoping for your videos and others to talk me out of the current 86k X Plaid, but I just see to much value there. Help?
