    Thanks for the video. I had a 50 foot Husky hose laying around and after less than 2 years, my Harbor Freight hose looked like the Mojave Desert floor in the middle of summer, and the hose connecting it to the compressor popped yesterday. I bought a heavy duty 3 foot line from Autozone, Black pipe from Home Depot, and a Splitter from Ace, and now Thanks to your video and 5 hours work, I have a new hose on my reel, and multiple outlets to plug into if I need them around my wood shop. Thanks for the inspiration.

    Hi There, I was very impressed with your video, wasn't sure if I wanted to tackle it or not and you made it look super easy so I returned my new inexpensive Harbor Freight Reel (the one that I already had was heavy duty not to mention expensive). Then away I went on the replacement hose. What I did in addition to your instructions: Since I'm like a bull in a china shop, I to put 2 sets of vice grips on the real to keep it from taking off on me... then after having a leak at the fittings and removing and reinstalling the inlet and outlet hoses on the swivel fitting several times, I realized that when I took the inlet hose off the swivel fitting (the easiest one for me to remove) then loosening the outlet hose, loosened the swivel hub then turned the swivel hub and fitting off the reel, then you can turn the swivel fitting off the end of the outlet hose, then no need to turn the outlet hose to thread the hose on and off of the swivel fitting. Lol, it seems that not only was my hose bad, but the reel obviously had sit to long after being used for several years... the leak was caused by the O-rings going bad as well. I know this was long but thanks for listening.

    Just bought my HF reel today, biggest complaint the hose. Now I’ve got an idea of how to eventually replace it, thanks‼️👍

    Would have been so much easier to cut the hose off near the brass coupled rather than worry about slack and being able to twist the old hose;)

    Easy enough to replace that hose with a high quality Goodyear hose. The hose swivel can easily be fixed as well by replacing the 2 o-rings inside it.

    Once again, a great and informative video! Please do a video on your home built garage. I really like how you have put lots of holders to keep your tools nicely arranged. Your space utilization is quite remarkable.

    I'm getting a hose reel from Lincoln, the same company that makes the welders. Not sure of the quality of the hose that will come with it but I have a 50 foot roll of USA manufactured Goodyear rubber air hose I can replace it with if I need to so this video may come in handy to me. Thanks.

    Thanks. I just installed a new Hf 50ft hose reel that has its own 50ft rubber hose and noticed a bulge in the line that will soon need replaced. I want s nice durable rubber hose. How is your new rubber hose holding up? Thanks again and have a happy 2021 new years. Enjoyed your video. 👍🏽🙂

    I assumed it would be a pain to swap hoses. Thanks for the video. Piece of cake. Have a lighter hose and my hand doesn't turn red from it lol.

    Thanks for the video. Btw, you were awkward putting on the Teflon tape. There's YT vids on how to wind on the tape onto the fitting correctly.

    As one of your followers, I would like to buy one of those snap-on hoses. Trying to find the exact one but no luck. Found one in Ebay but not sure if it's the same one. Any suggestions?

    Bought one today too! Thanks again for the influence! :)
    So do I have to take off the reel off the bracket when I mount the frame on the 2 x 10? Not too much room for an air ratchet hehe?

    • @dial2fast
      @dial2fast  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      I didn't take the hose reel off the bracket. Just bolted it down.

  • @djducatiti390
    @djducatiti390 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I ended up mounting the hose reel assembly to the 2 x 10 prior to installing both to the wall. Used 1/2" lag bots for the hose reel to the wood, and 5/16 lag bolts to the studs.
    Air ratchet really helped a lot with those 1/2" lag bolts! Whew I figured that it's easier to install the reel on the 2 x10 while it is on the floor rather than someone holding it against the wall. Certainly time consuming to wrench those bolts with so little space to work with. Used a cordless impact driver with the bolts with (torx head) to finally mount everything on the wall.
    So I didn't end up disassembling the hose reel.

    If your hose is cracked and no good just cut the hose off by the fitting..just an idea

    The Harbor Freight 50' hose reel has a 3/8" connection where the hose attaches to the reel. Air hoses typically come with 1/4" fittings. I had to buy a 3/8 x 1/4 bushing to make this work. I also put a clamp on the reel so there was no way it could turn while I was working on it. You do not want the reel going into auto retract mode with no hose on it!

      Very good..never work on the reel without making sure it STAYS OUT!!!

    How did you go about mounting this to the studs with the wood plaque

    • @dial2fast
      @dial2fast  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Use a stud finder to first locate the stud behind the drywall. Then mark it on the wall with a pencil. The wood base will stretch between 2 studs. Drill the holes on the wood base, then drill from the base into the wood stud. Install 3" - 4" screws to mount the board, then screw the hose reel to it.

      +xFADExPHANTOMx This Snap On hose is a hybrid hose. Very light weight and flexible.

      With the hose reel I showed in this video, I don't think it will fit 100 ft hose.

      Air hose for a pressure washer? Is this a typo? Are you are asking if you can get a pressure washer hose repaired or replaced???
