    This video is from April. April is alligator mating season. Mating season is probably the reason why there is such a large group of gators in one place.

    If this is in Lake Apopka, it's not a pond. It's slightly more than 48 square miles and is Florida's 4th largest lake. Why they were so bunched together is probably due to mating.

    "It's sending me farther from the lake"? I was like, yeah right, he isn't really farther from the lake but my research indicates it's true. This anchor actually moved 6 miles further from the lake, takes a new longer route to work that avoids the lake, and is now sitting to right of the woman since the lake is in that direction.

    Let me ask you all a question in regards to the reporters we are in their backyard for alligators and Crocs especially in Florida. Do you think the Gators are looking at us and saying hey there's too many humans out here I don't think so lol. They're going to go with it going to go it's up to us to be respectful and responsible to leave them be and let them do what Gators do. But it takes us as human beings to be respectful and responsible watch your small animals or even your big animals don't let your children around the lake or pond use some common sense and stay out of their way and they won't bother you if one's in your swimming pool or backyard that's different. But when you see them gathered in a large populated they're just living amongst their own kind to Gator scare me yeah. But I sure as hell wouldn't go into where their habitat is and go poking around like I said use some common sense have some respect leave them be and no one should have issues.

    Eastern Massachusetts Native passing through the comments section. I take it that humans don't go swimming in this lake regularly. I have also heard that there was some water pollution in the 80s and 90s from skimming Wikipedia. Do most Floridians swim in any of the states lakes? I have heard bad things about Lake Okeechobee too. Up here is Eastern Mass, swimming in any random lake is usually safe.

    • @Dman9fp
      @Dman9fp 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah certain rivers and lakes in FL nowadays you wouldn't catch most any native ever stepping foot in. Some still seem to, attacks happen especially in evening or during mating season (but they mostly would rather probably get a small easy meal like a small pet that wanders too close to the water). Safe to assume they Will find you way before any human finds them, even for very large gators. Small gators, as a native I could hardly care less, but certain lakes/ streams are renowned for big & lots of gators for sure. Well over a million total in the state, and most every freshwater body has a gator at least during some part of the year (but that's just nature. They are invading "our lakes, etc." As much as humans moved into their territory, imo. Florida use to be mostly just swamp and pine forest way back when

    Florida has a problem with wildlife management in my opinion. I think it's great to protect wildlife but when you get to the point where you can't even go out in your own yard because bears are everywhere and alligators crowd every body of water you have to consider human safety to. The truth is the alligator population is huge now and no body of water is safe in Florida.
