Living in my country the Philippines is a matter of living in humility in the most modest ways you can. Foreign currency will go a long way, but modest living will bring you an extra miles to sustain life as we Filipinos saying “ tighten your belt “ or “learn to contour your body to fit the size of your blanket “. It’s advisable to invest or start even a small business so there will be an income, not just all be spending where your resources will only lead you in vain.

3:47 Plan your travels carefully. If you’re retired, no need to go during rush hour. Consider taking the train which would mean staying at a place where trains are within walking distance.

Life in the Philippines is hard, but here is happy, simple, and good climate, but be wise to spend your money, be wise for what life style you want. In short be hard working and enjoy your money nice and wisely. No perfect country in this world, its defend how deal the lifestyle you choose. But Philippines is in the stage of growing economy and more fun here and kind people ❤.

" Live as the Locals do!"
YOU WILL BE GIVING YOUR WALLET ITS OWN FEEL OF PARADISE!"
IF YOU WANT TO SPLURGE, THERE'S BGC & MAKATI LIFESTYLE for you...But for a truly Affordable Tropical Living,.. live in some Provincial Cities like Dumaguete City, Bacolod, Cebu, Iloilo,Cagayan de Oro & Davao City!
City Wifi is Fast and lots of Fresh Local Produce!❤❤❤

I grew up in the Philippines and worked in the USA for most of my adult life. Between my SSS, pension and VA benefits. I can clear over $10k/ month. I also owned several real estate assets both in the USA and Philippines (thru inheritance) valued over a million dollar. I also own liquid assets in the form of my IRA. Despite all of it. I'm still apprehensive in returning to the Philippines, I don't mind visiting. The number one reason is healthcare. its expensive in the Philippines and not as efficient. My plan in the USA wouldn't work in the Philippines. As you grew older Healthcare is the number one concern.

As an older foreigner i would never live in a village or province, horrible healthcare in case u get sick, limited fresh foods , especially meats, cheese, and western foods u can buy in the city, medications, you are not sure if u are getting the real medications or fake, if u have a heart attack or really sick u could die, because no ambulance service , mosquitos, barking dogs, roosters,,,karokee,,,,,I lived in cebu city for 7 years, have been visiting 30 years with my filipino friends,,,,

If you come here the problems that were pointed out are easily fixed with money. When I pick up the cheese I buy it and three more. I own two vehicles and two parking spaces (yes you can buy a parking space). Bottom line if you have a small amount of money to live on - live like a Filipino. Want live like you did in the West -easy, just have money and plenty of it. Overall you can maintain your lifestyle for about 1/2 of the cost in the U.S.- if your budget was $9,000/month in the U.S. figure $4,500/ month here. Single guy $2,500/ month- married with two children $4,500/ month (my situation and that amount takes in the fact that my oldest and myself don’t eat Filipino food and both girls go to an exclusive private school. Other than that, the people are very nice for the most part and the weather is nice.

Nothing wrong with owning your own car in Philippines. Insurance is cheap registration is cheap car maintenance is cheap and fuel is cheap well cheaper that uk 😩 parking in the city isn’t a problem at all there are many shopping malls to park only 50p or 60 cent. When I go back home to Philippines I drive everywhere to the north and south love doing road trips stoping in all the provinces. I live in the city so I’m used to the traffic 👌
