Thank you for posting all these comps brings back so many good memories when I was a kid. Miss watching all the OGs throwing it down this was a golden era imo
Maybe I'm just nostalgic but this was the best era of FMX. I actually met most of these guys too because I had a pit pass one time. They were all super cool but Trevor Vines stood out to me the most, he took all the time in the world talking. Still have a signed Sobe hat he gave me lol.
Awesome clip. Seeing cleancut Cowboy Kenny, Crazy Metzgar and Deegan of the Metal Mulisha competing ? No matter how far it has come these guys deserve a lot of respect vs. today's f. MX.ers as they didn't know yet what could be done. And years of BS. questioning if Carey did it because he didn't ride out. Ask anyone there or seeing it that day,. He surely backflipped it.
He didn't. He didn't ride it out. Caleb Wyatt was the first to land on a big bike but a couple dudes landed the first flips on 80s back in the early 90s. First in comp was Pastrana and Metzger at gravity games in like 02 I think
@taco98Ask anyone of the pro's at the time and they'll all tell you it was Carey Hart who did it first. Recognition from peers is far more important than from critics or spectators.
This reminds me of the first ever fmx exhibition in Vegas. People were losing their minds !!! When i say exhibition i mean it. They had not even started doing competitions yet. These exhibitions were meant to get people hyped about the new sport. IT WORKED !!!
It's crazy to think about how far the sport has come. Everything, from the dirt jumps to the tricks to the way they land, looks like amature hour compared to today. Maybe it's just nostalgia, but I miss these days of fmx. It was so much more exciting back then. I'm not trying to take anything away from riders today because they are amazingly talented, but this was just so much more exciting to watch. It's so polished now and it kind of turned into the corporate establishment that these guys were all getting away from. Sometimes I think the backflip, as monumental as it was, ruined fmx.
Hahaha the announcers low key talking shit on deegan is the funniest thing ever. I wonder where that jersey is that Hart threw into the crowd. Things probably worth a lot of money
I was 20 years old when i seen this, time flys
I was 8 and in complete disbelief 😂

Everything was better in the 90’s
Simpler times for sure !
I was 18 when this happened, haha. Such a great time back then!
I’m a decade younger. Still great times back then. The 90s and 00s were really something lol
This era was all time 🙌🏼
💯
The Cowboy, so under-rated especially blasting around on the 1-2-5!
Dude wearing fox shirt in the staging area looks so much like Jeremy Lusk!
🙌

tommy the tomcat clowers was so mad about this.. the back flip basically ended his career..
Ended a lot of careers unfortunately!
Man that had Tony 900 vibes
