I had that same experience. I denied God in front of my neighbor who always wanted me to come to some Cursillo event. I thought, I’ll keep my religion in my way and she can keep it in hers. A year later I went, and found God. I came to feel just how much He loved me. Thankfully, He’s a patient and forgiving God.

I was like this when I asked someone for prayer, they offered to pray right now I looked around to make sure nobody saw.

My stepdad was his bodyguard in the 90s. When stepdad died, he paid for entire funeral and for his best friend to attend. Matthew couldn't make it. He was filming out of country. But he helped my family so much.

The reason people "jump on people with any sort of faith" is because those people tell everyone who doesn't believe in their specific god that they're going to burn in hell, or that they're evil and need god. You can't play the oppressor and the victim. You can't verbally harass someone, then when they mock your beliefs pretend as if you're the one being harassed lol. Christians especially are guilty of this. They believe they're doing the right thing by not shutting up about their God to non believers and threatening them with eternal damnation. Therefore we believe we're doing the right thing by trying to get them to stop believing in fairy tales as adults. At some point you have to become an adult and let the story world go.
