I was in Asheville in the mid 1970’s. I was very young. My parents didn’t like the town then. I KNOW they wouldn’t like it now. I’ll never visit Asheville again. It’s gone big city. I prefer Sylva area But I’m very agricultural related retired from a “ service “ career. People don’t like condos and tight zero lot line living.
I think that’s why it appeals to people who are ready to stop stewarding the land for a while but I can see your point as well. People come from all experiences. 😊
Not for me,dirty city water,lots of rules,can't hang wash on the line on and on! These big money builders are destroying the natural and wild of Asheville! Turning it into another Florida! I would rather be in the deep woods alone living off grid with my critters! Neighbors are not very close!
I love Ashville, NC, I love Savannah, GA. The prices for one level living for retirees in their 70's seems to be out of reach!

I hear ya, there are so many different kinds of needs out there though. Some people need less to take care of when considering housing.
