A friend of mine had a townhouse and I loved the layout. There are definitely some good points. For me, we have four kids and I want them to be able to spread out a little outside without worrying about bothering the neighbors. We could make do if we needed to, but I think a townhome would be a better fit for us later without the kids.

I’d like rules to be enforced as far as people having trash everywhere and I know in New York a lot of people do what they want. Their backyards are full of old cars that don’t work landscaping equipment, and these things just bring your property value down not to mention people working on their cars in the middle of the streets parties that go from 2 PM in the afternoon to 4 AM in the morning. Although I don’t indulge in things like that, I would be frustrated with someone telling me not to have a fence or a dog weighing over 60 pounds so I’d have to just skip townhomes or communities; just a little too much for me.🎉

I think townhomes would be perfect as a starter home but after a while I’m going to need to upgrade

Great comparison Sarah! Insurance for a townhome is often less expensive than a single family home as well!

Yes, good point! Insurance can be less expensive, often the HOA carries a bigger insurance policy on the building, etc. which makes individual insurance less expensive.

    Townhomes are the way.
I wish there were more townhomes where I live.
We had to settle with a single-family house to live in a serene neighbourhood.
Although with Rapid Bust Transit and 15 mins drive to downtown.

There even some townhomes/cluster homes with the primary on the main level which is great!
