Brandon miller becoming good enough to arguably be their #1 after all that hate and him getting drafted to fucking Charolette is the kinda luck that turns organizations around
@@Redyyr- true but I think Miller always had the attributes to be star player. I had concerns about scoot because we’ve seen those archetypes work but also fail and he needed a 3 ball, to open the way to the basket. He also was Turnover prone. Do think he can become super solid though. Like Suggs type player, but overall a better get to the basket and finish player
Wooo Hornets video baby, let’s go. As a Hornets fan I think I have very reasonable expectations. I just want a healthy season, where everyone buys into what Coach Charles Lee is selling. I think he can make a real change for the better in Charlotte if given the proper opportunity. Other than that I wanna be super bad and get Copper Flagg. Or let’s hop in the tank baby, and draft Ace Bailey.
Celtics fan here, Charles Lee is the real deal. I was pretty upset cuz he was such a good assistant for us. The players loved him and Joe trusted him a lot. Yall are gonna love him. I’m excited to watch yall this season! Good luck!
As a Hornets fan, I noticed a change in the culture since the new management. Obviously for the past few years the stigma around the Hornets have been negative but since the additions of Grant Williams and Charles Lee, I noticed a shift. Even if we don't make a lot a noise this season, I'm 100% confident we can next season.
If yall get rid of the wife-beaters u can easily claw your way out of the bottom 5 in the east within a few years, miller, lamelo, and mark williams if he ever gets healthy, they have alot of high level potential franchise level guys, which finding them is always the hardest part of a rebuild (williams aint a franchise guy rn with the health issues, but he definitely could be the awnser to the center position for the hornets for a while) just need to wait for main guys to develop, get some roleplayers, and keep the positive momentum with the culture
As a 20 year Celtics fan, I want Charles Lee to succeed. Grant was never the best fit on the Celtics but he could really carve out a role building the culture. Really love the additions the Hornets have made as well as developing players coming up through the team. During the finals Lee’s hiring in Charlotte made have a look at the roster, combine that with a change in management - I back this take by Kenny.
I've been really impressed with the new Charlotte ownership. In my opinion, they've made nothing but good moves over the last year or so. I love the Charles Lee hire. Maybe it'll work out, and maybe it won't. But it's a nice upside play as opposed to hiring some uninspired re-tread. I also love the way they've traded off some of their older players in return for draft picks and interesting young players. Getting a distant unprotected 1st for PJ Washington is crazy good value. I love the Josh Green and Tre Mann flyers as well. They also hired a completely new medical staff, which is important when you've got an injury-prone guy like LaMelo on your roster. As a North Carolinian, this is the first time I've felt confident about the way Charlotte is operating for a long time. Maybe ever? They seem to understand where they are, and they're doing their best to accumulate assets and put themselves in a good position going forward.
Finally someone giving the hornets some respect, they got a really good young core, BUT injuries man. Although they might as well be bad for one more year cause this draft class is supposedly REALLY good
Hornets are my 2nd favorite team behind the Magic, but if I had to compare this coming season expectations I think they can be like the Magic in 2022-23 (knock on wood for LaMelo’s health) when the Magic went 34-48 that year. Charles Lee might surprise some people if you seen a video clip of him coaching the players during practice this past summer.
I think the most underated part about any team is great coaching. A cool article about miles came out the other day, and he said something really telling. Berragio was very relaxed, chill to be around. But when you are leading a team, you need to have some stern confidence. Here to hoping Lee is the steady hand the hornets need
One of the best things to happen for the league in the future is the current generation of hoopers picking people like Paul George/kawhi to model their game after. Athletic as hell but not reliant on it. 3&D superstars are the future.
I think Tre Mann gonna have a better season when he gets the chance to be in the rotation. he's got that slow and smooth game and doesn't really rush anything. big fan of Mann ngl.
Is there enough room for him? Presumably Haliburton, Maxey, Brunson, Donovan Mitchell all return to the All Star team. Brown too if he's listed as a guard again. That's five spots that are already taken from Miller already.
Die hard Charlotte fan. The best part of our off season were all the “behind the scenes” moves we made. Mj sold his majority stock in the team. We have a new gm and president. Our new coach was the Boston Celtics assistant coach last year. They even went and got an entirely new health and training staff. They hired kemba walker to their player development staff and even added taj gibson to the roster to help with the culture. Sure, the hornets aren’t winning anything any time soon, but the moves they made were excellent. Can’t wait for the season to start.
The hornets problems from recent years came from poor drafting & and low free agency marketability, for god sakes we picked cody zeller & MKG back to back lottery years, where as we have 2 obvious future all stars in Lamelo with 65+ games & Brandon gradually progressing. These are 2 bright spots the hornets need to capitalize off of going into future seasons.
Appreciated your work and content as always. Im buying the stock of the Charlotte hornets because with the New owners of Rick schnall and Gabe plotkin and GM Jeff Peterson and coach Charles Lee and they're building a winning culture and winning habits in Charlotte. If they are healthy with the starting five with LaMelo ball miles bridges and Brandon Miller Mark Williams Josh Green coming from Dallas Mavericks and I like the bench too. The fanbase here in Charlotte is ready for a winner here in the queen city and I like what they are doing
It really is all on Melo and Mark Williams. They've surrounded their 3 main guys with high-level role players, their bench unit was revamped this off-season so I'll wait for first impressions when the season starts but it seems like one of the more competent and productive bench units in the league. Right now, all Charlotte can really do is watch whether their stars can stay healthy to take advantage of an actually decent rebuild.
I wanna hear the wizards video, poole kuzma and alex sarr sound like a solid core,if they play like when they were winning chips. Poole was lowkey ballin out second half of last season. Now they have a talented big and just need some 3&d guard and forward and thatd be a interesting 5.
seeing the lamelo with ankle braces pictures, gives me hope, of a change of perspective on lamelo side but also you cannot hope too much cause this dude is made of glass
I do think the Hornets held Williams and LaMelo out for the back end of the season just to get a better pick, because the season was a bust anyway. I think they were healthier than they let on. Also the way the front office has worked this offseason has been great. They've been taking on the 3rd team role all offseason and I think they are being very smart
Hornets fan watched prolly at least 75% of last season here to say- 1. Nick Richards is not underrated but yes we might still need him for cover 2. Lamelo (supposedly) wearing ankle braces for the first time this year so hooray 3. November 2023 Lamelo ball is all nba level and I think we’ll see it again 4. Brandon miller in the mid range was genuinely the only thing that gave me hope last year watching the games. 5. Grant Williams is criminally underrated as a player and teammate (us hornets fans all love him so much)
Say what you want about Bridges, but he is a high quality basketball player who will be apart of the hornets future. He’s got some massive potential if he puts the work in can be a 20 PPG on good splits. Hornets got something going for them.
I mean Lamelo been playing less than 30 games like that's his contract. It's the Pistons at this point. Every year it's "they gonna be scary next year." Or the damn Cowboys except their super bowl is winning 40 games.
I’m also excited about the hornets but until they learn to play any semblance of defense they will always have a low ceiling. All this weighs on Lamelo being healthy.
