I agree with the overall statement, though. Pate's no different than any other college football content creator out there. Their opinions are all the same opinion. There's too much money involved in actually being honest about anything. I preferred the show a lot more when it was independent. Now it's all talking points. The same ones you get from all the other guys. It's just packaged a little differently.

Imagine having the accomplishments of Dabo and somehow you seem to hear people putting him on a hot seat. What I love about him is his heart is always in it and he is not afraid to show it.
His accomplishments are 6 and 8 season ago, and he's actively handicapping his program for 100%, high school-recruited, 9 and 10 win "culture".
@@EulogyfortheAngelsHe won 2 national championships and went a decade plus of double digit win seasons. The only school to match or succeed that in cfb history is Nick Saban Alabama.

Hey Josh solid episode. I think a cool way to incorporate Fan Duel into the show w/fan interaction would be a
"Bold Bets" segment, where people (voluntarily & responsibly) put their money where their mouth is on these bold predictions of theirs and place a bet using fan duel, then submit proof of that transaction. You can incentivize as you see fit.
Bold predictions are fun but it's always spicier when there's real skin in the game. Keep up the great work!

FSU and Clemson should become part of PateState. That would be the toughest conference in NCAA.

If the ACC was smart they’d merge with the Big 12. That conference would be unbelievably good in multiple sports!
Don’t know if the BIG12 would even want all those teams. Doubt schools like Boston college or Georgia tech would even make it out of that.
That'd give the lower level schools in the big 12 some more competition. Plus That'd be a hell of a way to replace OU and texas who just walked.
The third group of ACC teams reminds me of half of the PAC12.
Brett Yormark is way ahead of the game in reworking the media contract. Beside leap frogging the PAC12, he negotiated the contract to have it scalable for adding teams.
Maybe OSU, wsu, can rejoin cal, Stanford and the others pulling the pillow over their heads in forming an all coast conference.

Putting South Carolina/kentucky and A&M so close in qb room rating is absolutely insane. Weigman is 10x more proven and has 5 star ceiling when he’s healthy then the depth is sooo much better.
What has Weigman done/proven on the field? His last game he was on his way to playing poorly against Auburn before his injury. What bigtime opponent has Weigman been great and the reason aTm won?
I will agree the overall room is better than SoCar and KU. I think to be honest for what aTm wants to do offensively, Weigman might not be the perfect fit as he won’t be counted on to do much on the ground.
@@ljhookem14 he was top 5 in qbr through about 5 games last season with a terrible oline. The ole miss a couple years ago he was a stud, Miami he played well but lost, he’s playing really well just lost some close games because of jimbo
@@ljhookem14 plus Kentucky and South Carolina qbs haven’t played more than a couple snaps in a game as far as we know they could be awful, at the VERY least A&M is returning a solid efficient passer of the ball

If Brock vandergriff is just a tad bit better than Devin Leary Kentucky will be a problem this year. The defense is gonna be strong, and I expect it to be a top 3 unit in the SEC this season, especially on the front 7.
As a BSU fan I think Josh is right about some hesitancy with Green - had flashes of throwing well, but most of the time that was when the running backs were dominating the game. He actually lost the starting job mid/mid-end of season before the back up got a knee injury that took him out of the game. He also had great OC while at Boise Dirk Cutter former NFL OC/HC who came back to his coaching roots, for 1 season and then Bush Hamden who was the OC at Mizzu before coming back for a year to where he played in college and was just hired at Kentucky. He is extremely athletic when he gets the ball in open space, but not sure how well that will transfer to the SEC where players are likely a step quicker and hit harder
First off, love your show, watch all the time, first time commenting. I want to bring up a comment you made concerning Arch being the best backup QB in the country. How can you even state that? Spring game? Their defense was very soft in coverage. Imo, that was done on purpose, to try and continue to keep him happy. There’s a few QB’s that will be sitting behind last year QB, that have experience, and clearly would be better at this point. Heck, Lagway/Raiola, are just as talented, probably more imo, and pretty much have the same amount of game experience as Arch. There’s a few more out there, but I’m more interested in how you came to that result. No disrespect, all love, but I can’t wrap my head around it.
doesnt ACC brain trust have Fiduicary responsibility to work on maximum buyout possible 4 schools who want to leave? Every year that value goes down until GOR runs out and ACC certainly dissolves with them getting zero from leaving Schools.

I disagree with the last segment to an extent. I saw people upset that Travis isn't the ONLY athlete on the cover. Saying that Don Edwards and Quinn Ewers aren't big enough stars to be on the three man cover.
Believe me, the real one’s DO know about Dylan Lonergan. Best long ball on the team hands down, just lacks mobility and could use work on his short to intermediate throws especially slants.

I think 9 wins is the absolute floor for Texas. Michigan, Georgia, OU, & aTm are games Texas “could” lose.
Trap games could be Kentucky & Florida who I think will be better this season than what people are expecting. It’s why I’m predicting Florida to make a statement week-3 and thump aTm in B/CS.
The problem with beating Texas in 2024 is the opposition will likely need to score 40-50pts every week as their Offense will be so dynamic.

Don't know if this is the place for placing a bold Prediction, but here goes. Clemson will beat the spread in the Georgia game this year (giving it one of it's closest games), go on to win the ACC, and makes it deep in the playoffs this year (2024).

I hear you on that texas qb room having a solid argument for number one. My only contention is the Oregon qb room. Dillon Gabriel is really good as a college qb, and very experienced to boot. And Donte Moore was incredibly decorated coming out of highschool and has starting experience. I'd put Oregon 1a and texas 1b.

Wait are we saying UF will be a touchdown favorite against UCF?? If that happens that is free money and free money doesn't happen so it won't happen. UCF is better than Florida and would be a TD favorite if it was at their field. The swamp is tough but I doubt UF is more than a 3 point underdog and that's if they've already beaten Miami.

Josh i think you're sleeping on Florida brother. That was a bit overrated on the boldness scale for 8-3 this year with the Gators. They have Miami and UCF at home and are close odds with the canes while favored over UCF. On the road against FSU will be tough but they lost a lot of players and their QB is a maybe at best, especially against SEC defense. If Gators win those 3 then the other 5 are not as hard. Samford, Texas am and Kentucky go to Gainesville and are easily winable games so that could be 6. Miss St is on the road but they're not a good team by your own words. That's 7. So they'd only need to beat one of LSU ir Ole Miss both of whom are home in the swamp, or at Texas or neutral against Georgia. I'm thinking home against LSU would be the most likely win and Ole Miss is possible, even Texas on the road is winable,i really don't think they're all that special. 🤔 right now 24/7 composite rankings has Florida 7th overall with incoming talent and much of that are plug n play ready players and that's without being updated to include 5 star cb McClain or number 1 IOL transfer nor the strong wr Elijah Badger who should be signing today as he's 💯 crystal balled to Florida and immediately eligible. Texas made the playoff last year because they played in the Big 12. Georgia, Ohio St and Oregon would’ve all been favored over Texas. They just played in the wrong conference, and Texas played in the right one. TCU made it the year before for the same reason. CFP needs to cover up this Big 12 loophole.

I'll save everyone some time so you can skip the SEC QB room rankings: Every SEC team has a great QB room and all unproven QB's are going to work out amazing for everyone.
How is it tampering for coaches to talk to players in the portal? Dabo is flat-out wrong about deals being made before players enter the portal. If that was the case, FSU wouldn't have landed players like Jermaine Johnson, Jared Verse, Keon Coleman, Johnny Wilson, Jaheim Bell and Trey Benson from the portal.
Dude. We literally have players going on record saying that there was tampering going on in their transfers. Yes tampering is absolutely happening and acting like it isn’t is just choosing to ignore reality.
When a program has a policy of not taking transfers, it tells HS recruits that they will get a shot and not have some portal kid replace them at any given time. I think it helps HS recruiting

If Beck had declared this past year he would've been the best qb in the class. And is no doubt #1 overall pick next year.
Overall, the QB position is DOWN. I don't believe Beck, Milroe, Ewers, Howard, Carter, Klubnick, ... are capable of WINNING all of their games and a Natty.

Last year was a perfect storm of traditional amazing 3 year guys and guys who found their stride later in their career with the aid of the Covid eligibility extensions. We probably will never see 6 QB’s get taken in the first round again unless another world changing event grants extra eligibility to players.
