- Deadline reports that a “Melrose Place” reboot is in the works, with Heather Locklear, Laura Leighton and Daphne Zuniga returning to the soapy drama. There is no word yet on when production is set to begin.

As an MP fan, this is great news. I hope other original cast members will also join this reboot. And I pray for a really creative way to bring back Sydney from the dead

Sydney was my favorite character I love Laura Leighton I am ecstatic that she will be in the cast I would also love to see Allison Parker return!

Sydney is my favorite. They killed her off in the original and then killed her off again in the 2009 reboot. I REALLY hope they fix all that. I don’t care how they do it, make it a bad dream if they want, just keep Sydney alive and STOP killing her. Oh how I hope Michael returns, too.😃
This is great news. The only thing is, is what about the 2009 reboot? I'm assuming they are just going to write that out of existence. They should do storylines following the original series. Jo gets to meet up with her son Austin again. Maybe Michael will find out that the son Jane and Kyle have been raising is actually his. How are they going to bring Amanda back from the island with Peter (assuming they are retconning the 2009 reboot)? They will have to come up with another way for Sydney to come back from the dead after being hit by Sam's car on her and Craig's wedding day back in 1997. Will Lexi still be owning the apartment complex since she bought it towards series end back in 1999?

No telling who will be in this one. They brought back Leighton for that terrible quick-reboot, even though she got ran over and killed by a car in the main series. Sydney must have 9 lives like a cat.
She was only a ghost in the reboot.

I loved MP when I was a kid but when I tried to watch it as an adult, it was unbearably bad. 🤣 I’d rather see Models Inc come back over this.

It’s not going to ruin the original. The original is there. It exists. Adding to it can’t ruin what was already made. If folks don’t want to see a continuation or if they don’t like the continuation, they never have to watch it again and can still have the original.

The writing is going to be extremely watered down and there's going to be this thing where every character has to be a person of color, non binary, transgender, or something that aligns with the lgbtqia plus community.
Those people do exist in real life so why should they not be represented? Why even say something like that unless you personally have a problem with those types of people being represented on a TV show? Oh, newsflash: not everybody is religious or uptight so get over it.

If they add humor to this one like they did in the original, they can add chair lifts to all the staircases.😄
