What an actor Luke was (and human being). I am so fortunate to have grown up watching this series and years later seeing him in Riverdale. Man he was something...and may I add that KJ Apa is such a spitting image of what Luke looked like growing up? I mean I totally see it in these intros of Luke.
R.I.P Luke you will always be remembered and loved for years to come, thanks for the memories.
I remember Shannon Doherty guest starred on an episode of Riverdale as a way to pay homage to Luke.

This was such a great show through about season 5...maybe 6. Then they lost too many original characters and replaced them with less interesting characters. Even season 6 which was still good started to have a different feel and vibe to it and it got very dark. I don't mind dark storyline's but it almost felt like a new show by then.
The fact that the show originally centered around the Walsh Family and then ended with none of them on the show says it all. The parents should have still made some return appearances even when they were done as regulars when there was less need for them as the kids got older. Not having at least Jason Priestley as a regular cast member at the end was just sad.
I miss watching this show with my sister when we were about 5 or so years behind the characters age wise. Because we would be going through a lot of these same things as them when we got just a bit older. I miss watching the show in the days when everyone watched it live and there was no DVR. Some eps we taped on VHS.
I remember yelling at my sister to "come back to the room that it's almost back on" during the commercial break in the episode when Dylan and Kelly were about to tell Brenda that he chose her and that they had a summer fling. My pulse was really racing in that scene. Lol.
Simpler times.
The 1st cast can't be beat.
I Could have stop when Jason & Luie & Others Left The show but Luke came back .
But yes the show can be not the same.

Poor Douglas Emerson. I remember reading an article (maybe TV Guide) where it said he had purchased a nice car with the money he had gotten from appearing on the show. And shortly after his character was written off the show.

It’s funny how tastes become different with time. I used to think only some of them were good looking as a teenager, but now I see they were all great and very beautiful!
That is EXACTLY how I feel too! When this debuted, I was only a year or two younger than the 'characters'. I wasn't popular & had acne & was bullied a lot...so I suppose I envied these girls 9and guys!) who seemed almost supernaturally-gorgeous....mostly. I thought Jenny Garth had rabbit-teeth (like I did once) & wondered why Shannon Doherty was considered pretty back then (The 1990s were VERY VERY tough on unusual-beauty & I guess I fell into that farce too) I actually still didn't care for Luke Perry....THEN. He had a high, breathy voice & vain attitude I didn't like. But the actor grew on me years later & I was sorry to hear that he passed away.
They have matured over the years. Still remembering Luke Perry, who had it all. RIP!!

@@user-pr1mr7me3w I've never watched Melrose Place, but it seems like it's very similar to Beverely Hills 90210, except that everyone is out of high school, and that Heather Locklear was on there. Also, speaking of Heather, I like how Mike Myers as Wayne Campbell from Wayne's World 2 wanted Heather, but she ignored him in that movie, but in Saturday Night Live where he's Wayne Campbell, there was a scene where he made out with Heather, albeit it was just a dream sequence.
The ironic thing is I didn't like Luke Perry much at all when the show first aired. He seemed arrogant both in character & sometimes in interviews. But as the years passed........he aged like a fine wine! He also mellowed out & became a better actor. RIP Luke Perry.

Growing up watching Tori Spelling from the start of her career, I never quite 'understood' her. Back then, all of us teenagers both admired & sneered at her...thinking she was just what the media claimed: A rich daddy's-girl with nepotism. But many years later, I realized I think she may have just been trying to find her own way, make herself unique. The trouble was: She was very pretty WITHOUT MAKEUP...yet actually made herself ugly BY USING MAKEUP! I've seldom seen anything like it. If one watches her film "Mother May I Sleep With Danger", they can see how she is such an ethereal beauty, unique....until she 'coats herself.' Why do women do this, I wonder??

Update with the BH90210 intro? And Brain's cameo on that 90's show? Then it would be perfect! Also, for Matt, I could be wrong, but I thought there was three versions for him. The intro goes a little crazy the first 7 or 8 episodes of season 9, and I thought I remember seeing him get three changes.

It’s funny this show and the other popular Fox show at the time Party of 5 had two actors that I went to public HS with in West Orange NJ. Ziering was 3 grades older(82 grad) and Scott Wolf a grade younger(86 grad). Also 82 grads as same school astronauts Mark and Scott Kelly.

I think out of all the girls- Valerie consistently had the best hair and clothes. Donna’s hair I liked best in season 8. Kelly’s hair I liked best in season 4. Brenda’s hair I liked best the last half of season 4, when she cut it. Val’s hair I liked the first half of season 6 the best, before she cut it.

It was weird when the parents left the show. I get they didn’t have any real stories. But to give the exuse they up and moved to another country. Weird. They could have had them stay and we never see them. Weird
I agree. But I think it was the 'sign of the times'. In movies & in shows, people were not to simply 'not be there'. There had to be some wild or firm explanation. Nowadays, anything goes & no one seems to care. But the '90s (and '80s) tried to be heavy on details. The parents couldn't just 'be around' & not show up.....that was not acceptable. They would have to be solidly away, like moving to another country.
This was like the jersey shore way before the jersey shore
