Wow Ashley Erol did so well he’s got a beautiful jump in him and Melissa rides him very well lovely hands and such a lovely girl great riding. You will be back onboard before you know it so don’t be sad .Your looking great hope the queasiness has stopped now. Lovely family outing.tfs🤗🏇🤗
Melissa is taking just the right tack with him, educating him rather than forcing him. She has lovely riding skills. Erol is just green. Some of them take longer than others to get their confidence. Erol is progressing, that’s what counts. So glad you have Melissa‘s riding services while you’re grounded temporarily. That means that Erol can progress and be ready for you when you’re ready.
Erol has always my one to watch future wise, I've always said the same Ashley. His partnership with Melissa is growing brilliantly. Be very proud of producing him Ashley, he's amazing to follow ❤🎉 x.
Melissa’s togs are stunning. Im glad Ash caught a ride cross country. She was breathing hard earlier. Sh’s tiny and the baby is heavy. I hope she continues to take good care of herself.
I love this youngster he has so much ability. And my goodness can he ever gallop! Love Melissa's hands she's so positive. And her riding was really forward exactly what he needs.
Erol is coming so far! He looks amazing and is definitely going up the ranks with the more experience he has. You have done well with him Ashley, credit to you for all of your hard work!
Hi ALL It's so nice of you to share Erol's juerney, he looks so much better than last time . I addmer Melissa for taking over the ride Wye you are pregnant. Well done for getting Erol round thex.c. Take care and all the best. 😊😊😊😊👍👍💟💖
You cant buy or make 22:04 Erols nature hes priceless! Hes in his growing up time every day is a learning day for him, hes going to be the horse that will look after you no matter what! Hes not even mine and im so proud of him! You picked the right rider for Erol Mal well done! ❤
Well done Errol and Melissa ❤ Very unsure but he got better and better as he went round - and was GREAT at the water. It’s incredibly hard to have a new person he doesn’t know and trust just ride him in events, so good boy Errol
What a beautiful, young horse you have! Erol is getting better each time he's in the arena. Yes, he still looks ata fences, really doesn't like water, and some fences are just plain scary! Boy, when he gets going and jumps, he has a jump! Oh my goodness, fabulous horse! Scopey! I can not wait to see him improve and get into his stride. Congratulations on a clear round and 28.5 dressage score. A few bumps here and there, but when gets gong, you can see his gallop and his jump! To the future!
Lovely to see your family always and your Mum doing so well, congratulations to you and Scott.. Totally normal for Erol to go through this bumby time only 2nd event!! Great progress, could have been worse, he got round and little by little he will start to enjoy himself ready for your return bravO Melissa, LOve 🐎💜
Amazing dressage. He looked just lovely and I love the way Melissa rides him up into the bridle with great contact, high hands and a long rein. Looked ace. Showjumping, heck, such scope. Yeehah. Cross country, better but still very spooky. I think Melissa did a wonderful job in trying to promote fluidity with him. Darn good job all round actually. Onwards ❤ Oh and I guessed 29 on dressage so well done guys. 👏👏👏
Looks like he needed that slide/slip going down that hill when he started putting on the breaks again. Made him think about locking it down like he had been doing. Almost like it dawned on him to say….’Hummmmm, it might be better to keep going forward n jump instead of ending up on my backside. ‘ Oh how ya gotta love the young ones. 😂 Good outcome n trading trip.
Erol has it all, just doesn't quite know how to use it yet especially with lots of distractions, still learning and maturing - Melissa is doing such a good job. Excited for the future. Well done everyone.
id love to give erol a jump he looks so cool and collected really coming into his own now and figuring out striding and a good shape over the fence!! truly what a guy! good work ashley!!! congratulations to everyone!!
Erol is getting better each time he goes out once it’s clear in his head & he’s confident in the job at hand there will be no stopping him 😊what a little superstar in the making 🤩🤩
He’s going to be great once he gets braver by competing him often. He looked awesome when Melissa galloped him between fences. He has a nice long stride.
Great progress! So nice seeing how happy and confident he looked once he got going :) Definitely loves his job and will be incredible with a little more experience!
Seeing him grow into more challenges and progress makes for exciting outings ! He has time and talent for making it all come together. We love the journey as well as your progress!
Erol was a superstar. Great dressage and showjumping. Once he got going on the cross country he jumped beautifully and Melissa gave him a lovely ride. Loved the vlog as always so enjoyable 🥰🌟
Erol is going to mature into this and it’s exciting to see! On another note I just love how Melissa’s positive attitude and energy is helping his confidence and she is so well turned out I love her helmet and more traditional attire 🤎
Your baby boy did well! dressage and jumping 👍👍 the first and second xtc, well first was indeed close to the start box and cluttered , as you said the second was giving horses with much more experience a huge moment so over all Erol gets full points from me. Yes we enjoy this even if you are on the ground until...
All good horses have a quirk, I think it will take this season for him to mature and he will come out next season a grown up, no longer a kid, well ridden Melissa, firm but fair 🎉 xx
Great vlog. Melissa rode Erol brilliantly. She supported him so expertly and sensitively. Great to watch. Fab to see the journey with your family & friends. Safe travels. Looking forward to what's next. ❤
The main thing is...progress! In every area! He's inexperienced & distractible & still learning to focus (as Steve Young says, "I'm all you need") & to trust the rider ("I promise it's not the Englsih Channel, it's a puddle"). Malissa is doing a great job getting him forward & I expect to see things get better each time for this sweet horse.
👏👏👏 Erol maturing and learning. He nailed the doubles both SJ and XC. Believe XC jump one… came up quickly out box and there was ALOT to look at. He progressed around course well. Remember it’s his 2nd event. 👍
I love Erol regardless of who is riding him (obviously prefer Ashley, but since circumstances :) His dressage was beautiful, totally deserved the score and show jumping was lovely. As such a young boy, his Xcountry will smooth out the more he goes out. What a great horse he is. To me he is like a Zebadee Jr. :)
Awww u looked so protective over your dad at the start n during the hack, and when ur dad said, lovely day and hacking with Ashley 🤗❤️ he did so well 👍 and your bump is so neat 😀 ❤
I was SO impressed by how much better Erol was in dressage and show jumping. I was also happy he went into the waters. As another person said, Melissa does have great hands. When Erol is unsure, she keeps the reins nice and wide like a chute (so good for young horses) and quite soft, ready to go with him when he decides to take off. She is just a lovely rider who clearly has lots of practice with the babies/greenies. I think with more time and practice, Erol will be hard to beat!😊 Quick question. Why no footage of Micaela and Zebedee?
He’s done really well! Well done to you all! You can tell the efforts are showing 🤍 Would you consider making a eventers ‘Beginners Guide’ series? 🤩 I’ve been watching your videos for a couple of months now and I’m just inspired! When my youngster is a bit older, I’d love nothing more than to start him with eventing, it looks such a blast! It would be handy to know all the tips and tricks about eventing and where to find all these places!! 🤩
I absolutely love your channel!! I'm curious, here in Australia, we get to an event, and Immediately unload our horses, tie them to the float with hay (unless it's raining). I have noticed that you and other you tubers based overseas keep their horses on the float unless they are competing. Is this a weather thing?? Thx Ash❤
@@ashleyharrisoneventing thank you for the reply! I just assumed it was due to the weather.. how interesting are all the differences in the horse world, depending on your location ♡
You should really think about doing more cross country training before competing because he’s refusing basically most jumps and it’s just unnecessary stress tbh I don’t see why ur pushing him sm when he clearly can’t do it
In my uneducated opinion, your rider keeps her reins too long and is too handsy, which must feel quite different from you to Erol. The stadium round look great, even rhythm and flowing. It seems on XC that Erol’s body is moving more quickly than his brain. I’d suggest trotting him into jumps so he can look around and process and then jump confidently. But take my free advice for what it cost you😅
@@MissJools11 well I’ve only trained one young horse, and we event in the lower levels. We have never had a cross country penalty. But thanks for asking!

Are the Dy'on blinkers legal to be worn eventing? I've found they're pretty good for focus - or fluffy covers on the cheek pieces perhaps
