    What he said about having a good crew is true.
    Even just having like 2 or 3 strong dudes to play long sets with consistently makes such a huge difference in how fast you can improve. It gives you a pressure-free learning environment; plus, you can keep leveling each other up if you're all competitive enough.

    I want to say great interview with Chris T. I like how he talks about his journey and just all the things he got to experience. I think I understood he was a teacher but I had this thought he would be math or history. Hearing he teaching Chemistry while playing SF mannnnn that’s god given talent.
    Far as the rated R version of SF the animated movie I think we all had to do a double take watching that. I remember as a kid my uncle buying anime from a Asian store and when we watched this and ninja scroll my dad had to hit the pause button and walk me in the kitchen 🤣🤣🤣 didn’t learn till later why.
    Appreciate the interview Justin keep em coming. I hope to get more talking with T also once life gives a chance. Appreciate GOATs always giving perspective and keeping it funny also. But definitely got to go watch that Justin vs Roundhouse can’t believe I missed that 🤘💯

    My first fighting game was DOA2, and one of the reasons it took over our friend group and brought in new players was specifically because anybody could get lucky and win a round. This made it much more approachable to new players who would otherwise get stomped 100-0 in a game like SF4. If you wanted to see who actually better in DOA it was just going to be a first to 5 or some longer set.

    Every SF has its BS.
    ST: throws, random damage, claw etc
    3S: Chun, yun, parry (iykyk) etc
    A3: custom combos, damage, etc
    Sf4: vanilla sagat, super cammy, ae yun, vortex until delayed wake up, Elena, etc
    Sf5: 8f lag, vtrigger, throw loops, crush counter, Luke, etc
    Sf6: Drive rush, throw loops, parry, etc
    At a high level, most of the bs can be mitigated in one way or another. In some games you just have to pick the top tiers, a la 3S, because they’ll always be the clear winners.
    Starting from sf5 onward, it’s more accessible to reach a higher level. This is where people complain the most. I see it as a necessary evolution.
    Where would the franchise go if it stayed the same? Did the fgc dark ages not teach us anything?
    Just play what you like and what you can be good at. As someone that can play many at mid to high level, I’m glad SF is where it’s at and happy it keeps growing.
    Rant over

    The more volatile the game, the more players can steal wins, the more players that win, the more players that keep playing. The games are volatile on purpose to have more players win. This is the fundamental issue with new Street Fighter because being a great game is not the goal, having a lot of players is.

    Street Fighter 4 is definitely the best Street Fighter series of all time, and had the most hype tournaments. It also was the last time the game felt like street fighter. Street Fighter 5 and 6 just has stupid mechanics that allow you to skip neutral for free and not think as much. Obviously SF4 has some character exceptions, but it was more of their tool kit rather than a game mechanic.
    The game was also extremely technical with the option selects, best character variety too.
    Lastly, let’s be honest, it revived the FGC from the dead. I heard the stories of how dead EVO 2008 was. SF4 changed everything.

    • @tomozeik0313
      @tomozeik0313 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'm older and I can tell you that I felt like an outsider playing third strike back in the day. Everyone kept saying alpha series was better and the characters in 3S were weird and that was the people who actually played.. For the most part fighting games were dead and the only popular ones were Tekken and soul caliber, everything else was considered bad, even mvc2. People back then thought the music was stupid and going to 4 buttons was weird. There was also a huge stigma of having 2D or sprite based games back during the PS2 era because they felt "old" or like "old Nintendo games" referencing 8-16 bit as old.
      SF4 definitely was the reason why fighting games are even popular today

    While I do agree that internet is wild and people will do anything to have a reaction. You also have to understand Chris that every criticism doesn't come from that.
    I'll say this with no malice at all : you being one of the biggest Ken downplayers in the world doesn't help. People are clowning you because no matter the game sf4, 5 or 6, no matter the season, no matter the toolkit. You always whine. Always...
    You're an elite player, your skills are top 1% but people cannot respect champions that keep complaining all day long. That's exactly why Punk is disliked but some other players are not. Every person in the world can't be a hater, sometimes you also gotta take responsibilty and face your own behaviors. Haters exist, for sure. But discarding any criticism and calling it hate is whack. I don't hate you, you're a nice dude, as a person you're so cool. But everytime you talk about the game I just wanna move

    I think people way overstate the instability of Street Fighter 5, as the same players kept being the big winners over and over again, which wouldn't happen if anyone could just pick up the controller and compete. But there is some truth to it. The V-Trigger was too much, and dominated the game to an absurd degree. It did make stealing rounds and matches way more prevalent. However, that is definitely not true of Street Fighter 6. If you lose a first to ten in Street Fighter 6 in a one-sided fashion, the other guy is better than you. Period. Saying anything else is cope.

  • @bonappetek
    @bonappetek 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

    Chris T is one of the worst “pro” players in SF. He always complains about how other characters in the game is a lot stronger than Ken and how Ken is no longer good because of the nerfs. The dude likes to ride off Mena’s glory through SF league when everyone knows that Bandits only won because Mena carried the whole team. The dude then goes on to post a video of him beating Punk and includes one of Punk’s past twitter tweets in the video as an indirect disrespect and then Punk calls him out and challenges him to a FT10 money match but Chris T gets scared and doesn’t respond because he knows he can’t win a FT10 against him. Chris T always wishes he can be invited to big tournaments like Red Bull kumite but never participates in any of the LCQs. He didn’t even participate in the Capcom cup LCQ. I don’t think the dude participates any LCQs because he doesn’t want to waste his money flying to a tournament knowing he can’t win. He’s always looking for shortcuts instead of putting in the hard work. Chris T is an absolute fraud.

    I'll just come out and say it. It's a shame that these men grew up without Chun Li's shower scene. I think we can all agree it was foundational.

    Not naming the guest in the title of the video, or at least in the description of the video, or any links, guest's socials... not a single word, is very disrespectful in my opinion.

    game had built in lag online play, already making it junk. and rewarding losing players with an 'Ultra' or whatever lol. Yah compared to SFv and Sf6 I guess it looks good, but that's not saying much.

      Built in lag? You mean a game from
      10+ years ago when online gaming was worse and no one was utilizing roll back properly or at all? Lol
