In WW1 two russian soldiers who got lost in the forest at night, stumbled upon an entire Austrian brigade of 5,000 men. Who all surrendered to them! Some Ukrainian units now have poor training and morale. They must've assumed that there were many more coming than the guy they saw.

Zelensky didn't try to prevent the conflict through diplomacy because he lacks honor and integrity.
In 2014 there was a coup. Soon after, there was a massacre in Odessa (dozens of people were burned alive). Ethnic Russians living in Ukraine were treated as subhuman. Their language and culture was being oppressed. A civil war broke out due to the rise in ethnic tensions. For 8 years the Ukrainian military was indiscriminately shelling civilians living in Donbas.
If Zelensky honored the Minsk agreement and pledged neutrality, none of this would have happened. The 8 year civil war would have ended and Donbas would have remained part of Ukraine. War is the ultimate failure of diplomacy.
Zelensky, Poroshenko, Merkel and Hollande admitted that Ukraine had no intention to honor the Minsk agreements.
Who didn't want peace? Who advised against the 2022 peace talks in April? Hint: someone visited Zelensky in Kiev at that time.
Russia's national security was compromised once NATO began to expand eastwards. Russia clearly stated that Ukraine joining NATO was a red line (November 2021) and unfortunately this concern was never taken seriously. The Russians openly stated: if nothing changes, we will be forced to act in order to defend our national security. Enhancing the national security of one country at the expense of another is unacceptable. The Russians have legitimate security concerns.
20th September, 2021. Ukraine launched military drills with US and NATO.
NATO is not a defensive alliance. NATO illegally bombed Yugoslavia (a direct violation of the U.N. Charter).
We should never forget what they did to Libya, Afghanistan, Iraq etc.
Who blew up the pipeline causing an environmental disaster?
Zelensky banned all opposition and arrested a leading priest.
Zelensky tried to invoke article 5 under false pretenses. Remember the incident in Poland.
Ethnic Russians living in Ukraine were treated as subhuman. Their language and culture was being oppressed.
Poroshenko said, “Our children will go to schools and kindergartens-theirs will hide in the basements”.
Russians will never forget the 2014 Odessa massacre. The whole world needs to know about it.
Why was Denis Kireev eliminated? He was a member of Ukraine's negotiating team during the peace negotiations. He wanted to help his country.
Ukraine has a hit list. They target artists, journalists and ordinary citizens. Hundreds of children are on this list. 13 year old Faina Savenkova was placed on this list.
Pink Floyd's Roger Waters is on this list. Jimmy Dore (American stand-up comedian, podcaster) and Aaron Maté (Canadian writer and journalist) are on this list.
There is evidence that Ukrainian troops have been indiscriminately shelling civilians in Donbas (they used petal mines and targeted areas where there was no military presence).
The azov troops trapped in the azovstal steelworks in Mariupol used human shields. They refused to allow civilians to leave despite of humanitarian corridors being present.
Russia held a proposed cease fire in order for the civilians to leave, but azov would not allow the civilians to leave.
Ukraine has committed many acts of terrorism (car bombs and other forms of assassination). Darya Dugina (journalist) R.I.P.
The first terrorist attack on the Kerch bridge killed the truck driver and the individuals in the adjacent car (innocent civilian victims).
The second terrorist attack on the Kerch bridge killed two parents and severely injured their young daughter.
I have done a lot of research and it took me a long time to write this comment. I have stated a lot of facts and I have given my honest opinion.
I have provided a brief summary of events that took place. In order to explain this whole situation in great detail, a book would need to be written.
Hopefully someone will write an UNBIASED book, stating facts and allowing the readers to form their own judgments. Everything I said can be fact checked and verified.

Putin visits Vietnam: Why it matters? Like Ukraine, Vietnam borders a great power, China. Unlike Ukraine, Vietnam's leaders understand that it's in their best interest to do business with everyone, not to ally with one and against the other. As a result, one country is prospering and the other is in ruins. I hope they stay the course.

Vietnam knows its history and knows its geography (unlike, say, Kamala Harris, who just named the Korean People's Republic as an ally and friend in South Korea, or Biden, who maybe knows his own name). Money talks and if Russia can offer a good deal - good for them, after all, that matters for _them_ - they will stick to it. Vietnam is on the rise. Seems to me following the Chinese capitalist model.

Dmytro Kucharczuk argues that the situation for Ukrainians on the front is becoming increasingly difficult despite momentary stabilization. "We are losing territories; we are losing the best people," says the commander of the Ukrainian II Battalion of the 3rd Assault Brigade. Kucharczuk has no doubt that the Russians have taken the initiative, and the situation for Ukraine is becoming dire. "Yes, we are losing this war now. It's obvious. We are losing territories, we are losing the best people," he said.
The commander also emphasizes the drastic change in public sentiment. He pointed out that more and more Ukrainians are beginning to accept the necessity of reaching an agreement with Russia, even if the price is the loss of some territories.
"I don't separate the military world from the civilian world. I divide it into the world of Ukrainians and the world of 'Khakhly,'" he stated. 'Khakhly' is a derogatory term for Ukrainians.
"Unfortunately, there are far more 'Khakhly' today. The 'Khakhly' in Dnipro will agree to give away the Donetsk and Luhansk regions. The 'Khakhly' in Kyiv will agree to give away left-bank Ukraine, and the 'Khakhly' in Lviv will agree to give away Ukraine along the Zbruch River," the military man said.

The frontline is thinly manned by both sides due to constant artillery and FPV drone attacks + FAB bombs for Ukrainians. The bulk of forces are kept in the secondary and tertiary lines. The issue in taking ground is that everything is under constant surveillance and any advance runs the gauntlet of mines, artillery and drones. Concentrating forces in large staging groups is nearly impossible. So all attacks take place piecemeal to limit losses. In such conditions a war of movement is impossible without some sort of real wonder weapons. The end result is a war of attrition until one side is bleed sufficiently enough to a point where it simply cannot hold the entire line and a breakthrough finally occurs.

    • @bjorntorlarsson
      @bjorntorlarsson 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

@@robertalaverdov8147 In the most similar wars (world wars and Korean war) enemy artillery was suppressed by artillery and airforce. Troops were massed to overwhelm the enemy on the ground with firepower.
So that leaves the kamikaze drones (which I think is a perfect term for them) that can quickly be amassed. But they are highly visible, unarmored and relatively slow. If EW doesn't work reliably, there are other ways to take them out. It's getting a bit ridiculous that by now no efficient method has been operationalized. What about smoke screens? Or tiny interceptor drones or automatically aimed shotguns mounted on every armored vehicle for close range defense. In some other respects there have been fairly quick inventions and adoptions in this war. If the drones are dominating the battlefield, then they must be the highest priority to counter.
And clearing mines, how come this suddenly became such a huge problem in this war? Simple dug down contact mines. I haven't seen or heard of any remotely triggered RPG rifles mounted in trees or inside buildings or anything more challenging like that being used as mines. The mine problem is 100+ years old and don't the Russians since long have those cable shaped charges they launch to clear long gaps in minefields?
I get the attrition strategy and now with 10,000 to 15,000 Ukrainian casualties every week (as reported by the Russians) it is certainly working very well. But I don't think that maneuver warfare has become obsolete. France fell in six weeks 1940 with much smaller casualties than in this war, so maneuver warfare is actually a great way to minimize casualties.

Beyond the perfunctory pledges for cooperation in various civil fields, Russia and NK intend to construct a new road bridge at their border to better facilitate inter-state travel, as well as the big one: a ‘comprehensive strategic partnership’ for assistance in the event of aggression.
There is the obvious fact that this represents an immediate signaling by Putin that he wasn’t bluffing when he said there would be retaliation for crossing of the red lines.
The West escalates tensions by shielding themselves beneath a nuclear-capable proxy, which would allow the waging of nuclear war against Russia with a sort of built-in plausible deniability or legal defense. So now, Russia has requited in kind by implying they can give North Korea even more lethal missile technologies which can potentially be used in conjunction with nuclear warheads to put the U.S. under the nuclear sword.
One suggestion making the rounds is the potential to supply the Russian Army with North Korea’s devastating KN-25 600mm MLRS system, which is basically the NK version of an ATACMS:
That’s all not to mention the fact that while this was ongoing, Russian hypersonic-armed warships reportedly performed maneuvers within visual sight of Miami, a clear message sent:
In short, Russia’s strategic defensive initiative with North Korea promises to keep Russia’s artillery-thirsty army more than quenched indefinitely.
Russian forces on the north Kharkov front have settled into positions and allowed the reinforced Ukrainian troops to take the initiative in assaulting so that they can exhaust and attrition them, before retaking the initiative with new offensive actions.
It’s becoming more and more evident that the entire Konstantinovka region is being placed in a slow-constricting boiler:
As most intelligent observers know by now, the war is not about primarily gaining territory: it’s about attritioning the AFU and breaking its spirit until the point of collapse. - Simplicius

I believe Putin's visit as to do with building some kind of alliances and support between the two countries especially now that NATO is seemingly escalating the war. N.
