From the time he took over from his Co driver. First time Baja racer and second place OA finisher Nasser Al-Attia gained half an hour! Yes thats correct half an hour on the first place finishers whom them self were going flat out! That my friends is simply another level of driving! And he never mentiond it in any interview! A humble and a super likable guy always with a smile on his face!
Love watching the Baja. Always entertaining but still holds nothing compared to the Dakar in every aspect. Second place for two multiple Dakar winners on there first go one being a motor cycle Rider. I would still rather a Baja truck though over an Dakar truck.
You know nothing about Baja racing. Baja 1000 is the greatest off road race in the world. In Baja We don´t like stages like Dakar. This is pure 800+ hp engines with the best technology trying to conquer the hardest 1000 miles. You have to experience it to talk.
@@richardf9246 I've been to and watched the Baja when I lived in the states. Knew am old gentleman whom has since passed away whom completed many years ago as well as held a couple of sand drag titles. This is a long time ago now. I'm sorry but comparing Baja to Dakar is like comparing Nascar to formula 1. Formula 1 being Dakar. Your talking about actual motor car companies bringing there full works teams to Dakar with almost unlimited budget in comparison to Baja. The technology in Baja doesn't even scrape the surface of Dakar. Again like formula 1 tech or lmp1 tech that later arrives in road cars. The same with Dakar for off road vehicles. Baja is there greatest 1000 Mike terrace on Earth yes. But Dakar is doing that distance every two days for on average two weeks straight over every type of terrain including Baja terrain. One stage in Dakar on average is 500 miles through different countries. If I was to pick the toughest of road race it would be King of the hammers for our right toughness but the Dakar is the hardest. Then Baja. Simply no comparison. Like Nascar to formula 1.
I don´t have to compare Baja 1000, not necessary, Baja is unique. Dakar doesn´t have the essence that Baja has. Dakar is changing venues all the time, some years in southamerica, later in asia. Dakar is business, television rights. I laugh everytime I hear that racing the Baja is easy, I just laugh. Ricky Brabec won Dakar and he is a Baja racer.
@@sambyharrison When you say "The technology in Baja doesn't even scrape the surface of Dakar" , you are wrong big time, guess how Dakar learned the recent suspention system in their vehicles????........., from Baja , just as racing tires , Dakar now go with BFG for a reason , thanks to Baja .
