Only halfway through the video but just about every block has been on the "I wish there was an AE2 part that could do this..." list. Thanks for the great info!
15:58 Fyi for anyone seeing this later on, you can use any pattern provider with the quantum computer, it just acts as a cpu, it does not change any logic critical to any pattern providers
As a clarification, I have used the Quantum Crafter w/o quantum CPUs, quantum is great for mystical agriculture auto essence crafting supremium/insanium whilst also maintaining stock of lower tier essence. As well as crafting raw materials essence into resources (no need to hold onto iron essence when it only makes one item, so might as well put it as a craft in a quantum crafter
As an AE2 enjoyer, I want to use this mod now. I already love AE2 as it is (even if I don't understand some of it) and this just makes me want to use it even more! I'm glad I caught this when I did!
My brother in christ... gregtech doesnt exist in the same game version as AE2, AE2 starts at like 1.14 iirc and gregtech is still in 1.12.2 with the original AE, which has very few addons. Aswell as the fact that almost every gregtech pack, already has AE in it
During the testing at the end of the video, what crafter did you use for the quantum computer multiblock? Do i gave to use a quantum crafter in conjunction with the multiblock or can i use my normal molecular assemblers? And also where would I put the patterns?
When you say the own interfaces, (16:00)do you mean that you cannot use specifically the yellow ones? Or do you mean that you can't use others at all? I'm assuming that you could for smelting items, it just threw me off a bit there. 😅
14:52 You don't need to place the quantum storage, it's already included in the quantum computer core. By doing so you're losing out on having an additional 64 co-processors.
Yeah but then you only have 1G of storage with the entangler. Adding an additional 256M gives you another 1G. That the quantum computer core has an integrated 256M storage is just a bonus on top
I am using the advanced patter providers and a 5x5 quantum crafting cpu and my recipies will not auto craft. They work fine with normal processors. Any ideas?
so i just got the quantum computer multiblock set up. the block is 100% correct. sent a craft over to it to test. yet it wont craft anything am i missing something? has power its turned on. 1 of each of those blocks and the rest is filled the way you said. i feel like im missing something outside of the multi block
Seeing that Quantum Computer crafting away... That is immense! However, I am curious about the speed comparison to a full sized MEGA crafter? Considering that each crafting co-processor adds something like 4 additional processes, and I'd really like to know which one is faster in case I ever decide to tackle GregTech again!
So to add some clarifications (READ IF YOU'RE HAVING ISSUES): SIZE - It is to my understanding that the multiblock core is 5x5x5, but that is excluding the outer structure, making the actual max size a 7x7x7. This was tested in ATM10, so take this with a grain of salt as it may be a modpack change, but that is what is working for me. That means you can add another 88 co-processor quantum blocks (you're welcome) REQUIRMENTS - You will still need some assemblers to actually craft things even with this computer. What the quantum computer essentially does is it reserves a crafting space for the required resources and allocates the resources to available crafters to craft items (or whatever processing block that isn't a crafter). The storage space determines how much crafting resource can be allocated, while the co-processors determine how many processes can be allocated to the crafters at any given time. The more co-processors and assemblers you have, the more processes that can be executed at any given time. BEFORE YOU BUILD ASSEMBLERS HOWEVER! Consider making a Assembler Matrix using Extended AE, as this gives you access to a multi-block assembler, which minimizes channels used and can significantly speed up craft time. It also can be 7x7x7 including exterior and houses pattern providers inside, which fixes a lot of issues some people are having with crafting using just the quantum computer (the quantum computer doesn't have pattern slots). I would suggest a 3 to 1 ratio of pattern to craft blocks, in favor of pattern blocks as you realistically don't need that many craft blocks, more pattern recipes however is always useful. Here is what it will look like: KEY: P - Pattern block | C - Craft block | S - Speed block | E - Exterior block E E E E E E E E P P P P P E E P C C C P E E P P S P P E x 5 (don't forget to put exterior on bottom and top) E P C C C P E E P P P P P E E E E E E E E Feel free to comment if you have any disagreements with this explanation. ONE FINAL NOTICE - When you have lots of multiblock structures like this on a AE ME system, you will quickly notice how much power gets consumed as a result, and even with an infinite creative energy block, the power will continue to cut out if your controller multiblock isn't large enough (I believe this is due to the ME Controller not having enough internal power to allocate to the network, so it shuts off as a result). I would highly suggest crafting a max size ME controller multiblock (7x7x7, noticing a pattern) so there is enough power to run the autocrafting recipes, as well as other things in the background (bee farms, Agriculture auto-farms, etc).
I thought I was stupid or why does crafting space have something to do with crafting speed. How do I get faster molecular assemblers? I have an extended pattern provider in the middle surrounded by extended molecular assemblers, but that is too slow.
@ the secret is more pattern providers with more assemblers attached and more co-processors. Or, just make the Assembler Matrix for AE Extended alongside the Quantum Computer from Ae Advanced. If you’re concerned about supplies, start setting up a bee farm with productive bee’s, they are by far one of the most effective resource farms in game and can be automated and simulated.
Also one very important thing, slot the patterns in the provider down the Y axis at the pattern accessor terminal, as it will use a different pattern provider to craft another item. This means more jobs can be done before waiting for a molecular assemblers to finish their job.
They recently changed the max size of the quantum computer. Before it was 5x5x5 and now it is 7x7x7 so yes, it was a mod change/update The design/concept you made with E P C C etc is unnecessary imo and the inside does not matter 7x7x7 ME controller is definitely not needed. I got a 3x3 cube with a total of 3.39 MAE max power and if i craft for example 10 5x compressed cobblestone, it only uses 500k FE/t

So the one thing I’m confused about is you have to put your patterns in the quantum computer, which looks like it had a limit of 10. So would you just have to build a ton of these for it to be feasible? Or would we only use quantum computers for the large crafts and be kinda like a replacement for T3 auto crafters from RF tools. Someone please respond if I am missing something.

Hello! Very good video, but can you help me a bit more with quantum processor? For some reason it completely freezes my network (no tps lag, no energy problems). I can't take and deposit items through interface (or any type of bus) and crafting sequence never ends, even after getting the desired item. Edit: Okay, looks like I accidentally used regular pattern providers, but still, it shouldn't lag my storage, right?
took me awhile to understand ae2. and then one day it just clicked. now I can't go back. p2p are honestly pretty easy to understand to and sub nets. I love ae2.
You said it "It's complex". Channel management, bulk crafting limitation(tied to crafting storage space), and other complexity within it. Too much micromanagement just to get a good setup of autocrafting. If AE2 was the only tech storage with autocrafting available, then it would not get the hate. But there's RS that does the same, clunky and slow, but does the same work with less effort. I'm growing to love AE2, but I get why it's hated. I, myself, also dodge using AE2 before I learn how easy p2p subnetworking works.
isnt the co processor thing not a direct speed multiplier but is highly dependent on your molecular assembler setup meaning going over 5 co processing threads is never a speed increase in any normal circumstance
True, but ExtendedAE added the assembly matrix. That thing can have more than 900 concurrent crafts and you need the co-processors to handle it. Also the major benefit of the quantum computer is actually the way it splits itself to handle tasks. So you don't need dozens of computers, just the one.
