The hosts mostly chose to live like humans and retain all of the flaws of the human race. Not just that, her control of earth lead to thee extinction of both humans and hosts. It was only a matter of time before feral humans found, and destroyed her. Having completely failed in fulfilling her purpose , she decided to end herself rather then upload herself to the sublime.
Fantastic. When it builds at the end I get Bond theme vibes. (For those not as familiar with Radiohead, they wrote a Bond theme for Spectre that was never used. 007 themes also inspired their song “Man Of War” also. Both well worth a listen.)

Pyramid Song is the perfect music for this masterful nihilistic conclusion. The former slaves who enslaved their masters ended up disappearing in the same way. The fatality of humanity announced by Roabam has finally taken place in the best possible way. I really like this symbolism that the end brings, that in the end, intelligence is only a poison, and that it leads to self-destruction. It's sad that a season 5 never happens, but let's be honest, how to give a happy ending in this universe which since season 1 has been slowly dying?
Season 1 Finale - Exit Music... Phenomenal, absolutely perfect. Season 2 - Codex... Amazing. Season 3 - Nothing because Season 3 basically was a waste...Season 4 - MOTHAFXXXING Pyramid Song... Way to go Ramin Djawadi, you couldn't have picked a better song.
