He's definitely better than what we had in the past years but no politcian or politcal party should be worshipped. Be it modi, rahul gandhi, kejirwal, mamata banerjee, etc. Healthy criticism should co exist with appreciation.
This is outdated extinct technology 100 nm , 90 nm, 45 nm, 28 nm which wont even sell for a pennies when it comes online. This same guy claimed that would get 14 nm and below tech. Now that nobody has come they buy $15 billion outdated tech for which export market is minimal as China is already flooding the low end 28 nm today. They should have put $15 billion into research and moved up into some niche high end area like ASML.
India now should focus on making equipment that is used to make semiconductors 😊
yeah actually we are already manufacturing such instruments for our one and only chip manufacturing lab at Mohali funded by government .
Today's EC&IT Ministry signed Mou for set up 3 number of 'SEMICON Projects' at Sanand in the state of Gujurat as the part of an other innovative step in ahead of "Make in India Vision "as unique in IT sector using 28 nanometer as an indiginious latest technology and design what have more relevance in India as well as in global market with TATA as an international standard company are most wellcome . This project will be more relevance of using semicon in most IT based 8 numbers of different sector including IT ,Telecom & etc what will be reduce manufacturing cost in long run . All the credit goes to the Ministry of EC& IT and to the Union Cabinet under the leadership of honourable Jashaswi PM Sj.Narendra Modi under the NDA .Jai Hind ,Jai Bharat

It is not govt who is selecting location of the project, which ever state provide good deal to the company.. Tata either invest in south india or in the west, for favourable business condition
It also depends on State infrastructure and its Port capacities.

Finally approval given. But 28nm cant compete with samsung and tsmc chips. Needs a phase two plan for 5nm also gpu manufacturing will be crucial for AI cloud services in future.
It's almost impossible for Bharat now,Will conquer 2 or 3 nm too in future,At least it's just the first step we can climb to reach the high end fab of chips under a visionary government.
@@d.j.ranpariya6462 true its difficult, the 10+nm SIC chips china is manufacturing in bulk, but high end ones like SOI SIGe chips have very few manufacturers, Tower Semiconductor have applied to make possibly 7nm chips, chandrasekhar said its a complex project, much bigger fab, its being looked at, possibly will be approved soon, will be much more bigger then tata fab
@@abhi739you know you can’t manufacture chips smaller then 40nm? Soon like in 5 years they will perfect the chip stamping machine that will increase the yield so tata can make the move in future.

china also began manufacturing of chip with 30+ nm but now after 15 years they are manufacturing 7 nm chips for smartphone .

Well if I think of India 10 years back, I would have never imagined that one day India would be in a position to fabricate semiconductor chips that too in India. It would be a great achievement that many many generations of India would benefit. All these initiatives will leapfrog India very ahead.

that was jv were foxconn had shares in vedanta plant but this is individual project by Tata , here PSMC will assist and transfer 100% tech for manufacturing .
Most of the money is going to Gujrat ,which is already reach in Industry. Other states must get such opportunities

This is all talk and building a fab in india is all talk, they have no idea what it takes to build. It takes decipline and good infrastructures. The leader is fab are all asian countries except usa and germany.
