The parts I was able to watch were glorious. It is very sad that for the first time in my life, I couldn't see the complete ceremony because the transmission was not available like it was before unless you paid for the streaming or cable TV. That was the sad part.

I like the symbolism and all but it was utterly chaotic with all the dancing and not so good party music. The Joan D arc scene is good and thats nice one. Low budget one. Overall, 3/10.
This ceremony will be talked about for years to come, for all the WRONG reasons. For sure, the Eiffel laser show was breathtaking and seeing Celine Dion was so emotional. But this is NOT a Eurovision song event, this was the OLYMPICS. The athletes should have been front & centre, the flag & the flame should have been respected. People should have united in a spirit of peace and love. Instead, we were treated to scenes which alienated & left many upset. Also, your Mayor couldn't even be bothered to turn up greet the athletes & welcome the world to her city on behalf of its citizens. Thank God we can now concentrate on the Games!! Not looking forward to the closing ceremony AT ALL!!!
