      Yeah, it would be nice for the new carts to come with an alarm standard. Those small speakers need an upgrade too. I'll be doing another update vid with all the current upgrades soon, and it may have some of my future plans outlined in it as well.

    Does the rear seat step fold up? I haul my golf cart (ez go) using max Ramps and the metal rear step scrapes the concrete.

    • @oftenwrongparadigm

      Nope, it does not fold up. You may want to check the departure angle on the back of the ez go to compare it to a lifted bintelli. I'll measure mine tomorrow, and post it in the comments.

    Thanks for the Bintelli videos. I have enjoyed them. I just purchased one and I am trying to figure things out. Have you connected to the Summit II Bluetooth charger via the phone app? I did that tonight and would love to hear your thoughts on it.

      I have seen there is a Bluetooth a symbol on it, but I've never tried.I'm curious now to see what it does and what all you can do with it. Thanks for giving me something to do this weekend 😉

      When I was out looking at them today, I tried to connect to the Bluetooth. It was a breeze. No problem at all. I’d rather not have a stereo in my cart, but if it has one, having Bluetooth is great! I’d have preferred just a built in Bluetooth speaker. I’m leaning towards this particular brand though. I definitely see value compared to the other big names.

      (sigh)... Not yet. I ordered a set for a club car. Super close to fitting, but I don't have the tools I'd need to modify them to fit.
      I have a wood made draft of the nerf like bars or slide rail step. Once I have the cash for a welder and some 1.5 inch square tube, I'm going to teach myself to weld and make them.

    Os there an issue climbing hills? That is the one thing I was told they are not good at.

    • @oftenwrongparadigm
      @oftenwrongparadigm  ปีที่แล้ว

      Not as far as I'm concerned. My neighborhood and golf courses don't have any super steep inclines. Even loaded up with around 400 lb of human and other cargo, I don't have any issues with hills I have. There is one area, a road that goes uphill for quite a ways, where the carts top speed will be reduced from 25, but even on half battery and the weight of three adults, it still keeps up more than a 22 mph top speed. One of my golf courses has three large mounds along the right side of the fairway/rough. Whenever the course doesn't have the cart path only sign up, we like to ride those hills at about 3 to 5 mph, kind of like a roller coaster. It's fun. No issues there unless you hit it at about 10 plus, then stuff inside the cart tends to get tossed.
      I'm sure you can put it to its paces, and even exceed what it was really designed to do, but I'm not sure why you'd want to do that. This cart just like any other is going to start having major difficulties from a stop trying to accelerate and overcome a 30° plus incline. No golf cart was designed to be stuck in a 10 ft ditch and climb out, at least not from the factory.
      What kind of hills do you have in your area?

  • @tcellis6673
    @tcellis6673 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    We ordered one of these carts. I want to do the Viper alarm in mine as well. Did you need to install a regulator for the power drop or does the cart come with one? And do they have a good wiring diagram for the alarm tie-ins? Maybe you can do a video on that install?

    • @oftenwrongparadigm
      @oftenwrongparadigm  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The wiring diagram was nearly complete, and it wasn't too difficult of an install regardless. It did take me a little trial and error to figure out which wire would flash the hazards when arming and disarming the alarm.
      I tried to do a video on it when I was installing it, but some of the footage got lost and other parts were just garbage. I made dig out that manual and do a walk-through of the install. The alarm instructions walk you through everything very well, except for the hazard light flashing part. I hooked it up to a 12 volt DC converter, it's mentioned in one of my other videos. You can get on Amazon to find those easily. A small one will work if it's one of the few things you're going to be adding. I'm planned for upgrades in the future with a 350 watt 30 amp DC converter, I got the one with the blue box on Amazon.

    • @oftenwrongparadigm
      @oftenwrongparadigm  ปีที่แล้ว

      No problem! Let me see what I can do this week. The cart does have a very nice converter on it already, but there's no great way to tie into it that I have found, yet. That's why I just got an extra one and mounted it right above the charger. A smaller converter would fit better in that area. Then you can get a fuse holder with 5 or 10 points to add a bunch of extra electronics.

    Can you. Do a video about it on how to take the speed limiter off if you know how to

    • @oftenwrongparadigm
      @oftenwrongparadigm  ปีที่แล้ว

      Now that I typed out the rest of this message... I may do a quick video on this this week... First and foremost, you may void your warranty if you mess with the controller. I can look into the process further to put out some info on it. The problem is going to be, there's 3 different controllers used in the carts. What I have may not be what you have. Again, tampering with this device may void your warranty, and cause irreparable damage to the module. I believe they cost about $400 to replace, plus labor if you are needing that too.

    • @oftenwrongparadigm
      @oftenwrongparadigm  ปีที่แล้ว

      You may also want to check your local laws regarding the speed limit and tampering with the device.
      There are other controls you may want to edit though. Things such as regenerative braking, launch controls, how much the cart speeds up or slows down when you press or release the accelerator, etc.
      There's also diagnostics you can do, and info gathering of its uses and processes, for educational purposes. For the dash, you can turn the state of charge on and off. It was giving me issues though, and I didn't want to take the time to figure it out when I was messing with it.

    • @oftenwrongparadigm
      @oftenwrongparadigm  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Depending on the controller, depends on what equipment and programming you'll need to change. I have another video about how to see which controller you have, Bintelli uses at least three different controllers. If you have the Curtis controller, I have a video of what I changed my settings to. With fresh lead acid batteries, it's no problem for me to get to 30+ miles an hour. With lithium batteries, you should be able to get at least a few more out of it. All of this will of course depend on the conditions, temperature, and weight on the cart.

    Do you actually take it on the course? How does it handle out there? Bag storage?

    • @oftenwrongparadigm
      @oftenwrongparadigm  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep, I take it to the course whenever I go golfing. Way more cool factor and it's the envy of the course. If I went to a different course, I'd probably trailer it. I've trailered it to Folly Island, not too difficult, and it's just easier to get around. Only downside is that turn radius. It doesn't turn on a dime like a low and small tire cart will from the club house. I strap my bag to the safety bar on the back. There are accessory bag carriers. I just don't want to spend more money on something that isn't really needed. Especially when a few double sided velcro strips works.

    I read somewhere that these don't do good on hills and inclines. Have you found this to be true? My home golf course has plenty of elevation so need to know. Thanks!

    • @oftenwrongparadigm
      @oftenwrongparadigm  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Absolutely not true. I have no issues with hills, other than if I go too fast over the three to five foot ones that are spaced evenly apart at a local course... My golf clubs fly out. Super fun though, it's like a roller coaster.
      I'm working on getting a 1-year update video put out. One of the scenes has me driving the cart up steep inclines for just this complaint. As I said before, no issues whatsoever.
      Now if you put 800+ lbs worth of human and cargo weight on any cart, it's going to struggle up hill. But hopefully you're not doing that on a regular basis.

    How is the tire noise when riding on asphalt?

    • @oftenwrongparadigm
      @oftenwrongparadigm  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would say in general, it depends a little bit based on the smoothness of the asphalt and the inflation level of the tires. These are some fairly aggressive tires that do have at a minimum of a fair amount of road noise.
      Don't quote me on this... I do believe there are laws in place that state electric vehicles will have or produce a certain decibel of noise when traveling at certain speeds. This is for pedestrian safety. I think it was one of the evolution carts that I was looking at, it had something like a white noise generator that gave a Jetson car like noise if it was traveling under a certain speed.
      So if that is a real thing, these factory tires do make road noise that can be heard by pedestrians. But that doesn't mean you can't swap out the tires. There are road tires that can be put on which don't make as much noise. You could also get different wheel and tire combinations to put on. If you do go with a different circumference tire, it will affect your speedometer. And then there are tools that you can purchase to modify the Curtis controller for the different size tires, and make all kinds of other modifications to the brains of the cart..

      No real issues with it, maybe just some minor annoyances. I've ridden in a bunch of different golf carts, and this one is by far my favorite so far. If I were to complain about anything, it would be the same thing I've said since I bought it. The minor roof rub when taking it in the garage, and this suspension is a little firm. But given all the pros and cons, I wouldn't hesitate to make the purchase again.

    Any quality issues that you’re aware of? I went and looked at these today and I thought there was value for the price but when I looked at some online reviews it seemed maybe like trolls just badmouthing it. I’m buying next week and trying to do research but there isn’t much out there on this particular brand. Thanks.

    • @oftenwrongparadigm
      @oftenwrongparadigm  ปีที่แล้ว

      Definitely do your research! Watch some of my videos, feel free to ask questions. I have no affiliation with Bintelli. I think a cart is a fairly personal choice. Brands have slightly different looks and features. Some have more aftermarket parts than others. Make sure you give the steering wheel a durability test and hit a few good bumps when test driving the different brands. IF I had a complaint with Bintelli's, it would be the firm suspension. But I'm a jeeper, and don't mind it much.
      I was researching all the brands available in my area for at least 3 months. Went and test drove every one of them, a couple I drove twice. Each of them had pro's and con's. And those reviews online... Some are believable, others are not.
      Quality issues? Not really. The quality is on par with the big 3 brands.
      Fit and finish could use a little minor attention, nothing major, but still about like the big 3.
      My cart I bought in I think June of 22. I've put over 1200 miles on it. No issues with electronics, motor, batteries or brakes or anything really. Whole cart looks great, except for the rub marks on the roof from the garage door rubbing.

      I'll probably never know. It never snows here. I would think they would be ok, up to a few inches or so. The motor is strong enough to power through. The real question is, how well can you drive a light rear wheel drive vehicle in snow and ice? Are you looking for something to get around in or do doughnuts and pull a sled down the road?
      Now that I'm thinking about it, this sounds like fun. I might have to trailer mine up north to try this out 😉 been a long time since I went sledding behind a truck...

      It's hard for me to say what the weight is. There's nothing on the Bintelli website telling the weight that I have found. It depends on what batteries the cart has, and how many seats it has. There may be additional weight if there's been additional items installed. Since it is pretty comparable to a club car, I'd say with lead batteries it's probably close to 1100 lbs. With the extra steel, winch, and other accessories, I'm probably tipping the scale a bit more. Swap in a lithium setup, and a cart will drop weight pretty fast!

    About how many miles do you get on a charge ?

    • @oftenwrongparadigm
      @oftenwrongparadigm  ปีที่แล้ว

      That depends on a few factors. My cart has lead acid batteries. I think about the furthest I've taken it was about 35 miles, and it could have gone longer. I've also had the cart be near empty at about 20 miles as well. It depends on speed, weight, temperature, mostly. Keeping it at around 10 to 15 MPH max, on a warm day (80+), with less than 200# of people and stuff in it, it can go a really long way. Change it to keeping it floored, 40 degrees, and 4 adults... You may be lucky to get 20 miles out of it. So, it definitely depends.
      If you want to avoid range anxiety, get a large lithium battery and drive conservatively.
