Just picked up a 2020 RDX with 8k miles. Beautiful car. Sort of stumbled across it before seeing this video, but I’m glad you liked it as much as I do. It does everything well and with a nice level of luxury.

The only thing that I would zonk on this car and all car brands is that if I choose a black interior I want it to be all black, not the roof side pillars and sun flaps to be light color. Is it just me or no

agreed, I pretty much only watch this channel and Redline's to check on a car. And right now we just got our 1st kid and need an SUV to replace a 2017 A4, which gets cramped with just a stroller (and we still have doggo to sit...). Not sure if I go RDX now with their special offer (till March 2021 for Audi > 2011 owners), or wait for the Genesis GV70 that looks amazing too ! I just can't make up my damn mind haha
Something strange I found in many reviews with short music, music volume is always higher than dialogue before it.

@@garybesaw I live in the South so I don't know how it would be to drive in snow. It's good so far. I'm really impress with the engine compare to lexus rx350. If you have 2-3 kids , you should buy the MDX.

Just picked up a RDX 2020 for the wife, really love the Honda motors in them. I have a tl and accord at home and the reliability already paid for themselves.
Setting the bar for fluidity and velocity. Cruise control Tecnilogy super handling SH all wheel drive constitutes drive on efficiency. 2020 RDX looks comparable to the Mercedes or the BMW . Thanks for the features advantages and benefits . You look like an athletes sportsman. My favorite Acura

After my second Acura TL I was ready to buy an RDX since both my daughters have them. Found this exact car with 29k miles on it. I am in love. You neglected to point out I. The cargo area when you lift that floor there is another set of storage cubes behind the big one! I can’t believe how much storage is in here. You can easily stow your umbrella gloves, and a blanket for winter usage in those smaller cubes in the back without compromising the regular storage you may need during other seasons.

I love this suv and Acura! I came from the tlx 2018 to the rdx! I just find my tlx was better on gas but I do love how spacious the rdx is! Great for me and my kids ! The tlx was a fun car while they were smaller and felt bigger but as they grew we out grew our tlx

I bought a 2018 RDX Tech package CPO two years ago. I wanted the previous RDX model to this one since the '18 has the V6 engine (non turbo), a regular sunroof, and there's no screen just sticking up from the dash like this one. I like the exterior styling of the 2019 and newer RDX but it was a no buy for me because of the dash, the sunroof and the engine.
I was thinking about merch and I had no idea you sold. Love the vids and im getting a drawstring bag for Christmas lol. Maybe a shirt too.

Got a loaner one of these while my cars there. This car definitely surprised me. The transmission is great.
Very Good review, just wish you spend more time of tech review and sound system. Also, the interior size of RDX is almost the same or larger than Lexus RX but RDX is classified as a compact while Lexus is considered mid size.
I will try to add that in on the future reviews or maybe just do a stand alone.

in the trunk, if you pull the carpet handle up harder there are two other separate compartments.. perfect for hiding. i think the compartment has magnet holding it doen
Got this Tech package model two weeks ago. It works amazing. I debated the a spec model but I wasn’t feeling the red interior and wheels for the price. The tech package was good enough. All the engines are the same so your not getting any additional power. I just had to get used to the new shift buttons.Overall I’m happy with my RDX.

Is it fuel efficient? Is it really a fuel guzzler like people claim?
@@dailystentor I am getting 24 miles per gallon, city and highway combined. I have it in "Comfort" mode about 98% of the time. I assume it will use a little more gas if you use "Sport" or "Sport+" mode more than I do. I rarely have the need to use the Sport modes.

This is one of the strongest in segment full stop. Firstly, not ugly like most Honda's. This looks good. Interior is really functional and its quick. I was interested in the advanced model and it falls a bit short from a loaded BMW X3 which IMO is the class leader. Being I got BMW to scrap off 7K off MSRP I went with the BMW.
It would be nice if you could do a RDX trim comparison.

Great review as always., however for us parents could you please mention the ease of use or not for child safety seats . We love the heads up on the storage of cupcakes but my wife and ! are currently shopping for a new car .and 95% of the sales staff have little or no idea how much of a pain these things are to get in. Not for all reviews of course, but for a potential family hauler it would be nice. Also for a lot of your reviews you never open the sun roof even while at the dealer( OMG) our 2015 Ford (exploder) sounds like a bunch of mice open and close it. Also we can some times see a bit of a person on the passenger side in the back just a small glimpse, is that a salesmen watching ?
The only flaw in my 2020 RDX Advanced SH-AWD is the touch pad isn't always responsive. My solution though is simple: I use Apple Car Play to control Apple Maps, Apple Music, Apple (audio)Books and Apple Podcasts almost entirely with voice commands: "Play my music"; "Navigate to XYZ"; Play XYZ audiobook"; "Play XYZ podcast." Overall the RDX is a terrific car priced thousands under the competition. Highly recommended.

Probably my next car, except mine will be loaded. I need ventilated seats here in southern Arizona. Thanks for the nice review. Oh, it's probably worth mentioning that the engine requires premium gas. Not a deal-killer for me, but may be for some. Also, it's a 'cap-less' fuel filler, no more lost fuel tank caps! Awesome!

That 2.0L engine needs the AWD to keep the wheels from spinning. Bro-in-law has the 2.0L Accord and you simply can't start with any power without chirping or spinning the tires. In fact, that RDX w/the SH-AWD kit could be the best engine / drive train combo that Honda (erm, Acura) has to offer in their four cylinder powered fleet. Great to see such a usable cargo capacity. That is disappointing re: no ventilated seats. Completely agree that the super clear analog instrumentation is a good design choice by Acura. I also like the tall sidewalls on the tires in the era of absurd wheels / low profile tires in everyday drivers. In PA our secondary roads are beat to hell and aren't getting repaired, so having significant sidewall between the next pothole edge and your rims is key. Aside from the Subaru Outback, the RDX would be very high on my shopping list, if the in the market. As a CPO sale a few years down the road, that will be an incredible value.

Hey joe, could you review the advanced model. That's the real deal with the RDX. I may have bought one a year back but they were a hot cake at the time and non existent. Got a BMW X3 instead. The advance is the only model that can really match up with the BMW/Mercedes's SSUV segment.

It was a very difficult decision to say the least ..my basic hang up was I couldn’t find the right interior and exterior combination.. either I would love the exterior but hate the interior or vice versa ..the RDX in my opinion hit the exterior and interior out of the park

I have to agree with your review about RDX does NOT have a power port in the rear cargo area. I have a 2013 RDX w/Tech Package (yeah, technology package - no power port) and it does not have the rear power port or USB charger either. Back then I never checked for the power port until I need it and I was like "WTH???". You don't miss it until you don't have it :(... Now, I will NOT buy a car with no power port in the cargo area.

I like the 2.0 and the 10 speed auto, i drove one not long ago but for some reason the super handling awd doesn’t feel like super handling i felt like i was floating I would love to try the A-Spec to see if feels different

Acura is and always has been “ entry level luxury” where as Lexus and Audi are “ Luxury” . I just drove the 19 RDX Advanced trim AWD a few weeks ago. The RX is midsize so you would be cross shopping the MDX and the Q5 is one those in between sizes ( not quite mid but not compact either). If you don’t need the slightly extra room then save yourself the money and go drive the RDX, it’s a really good deal for the money. The only negative that I could find with it was that the cooled seats don’t work very well but other than that, I’m sold.

@@wbwayne8887 BMW has 2 versions of the M850i. A true 2 door coupe. And a 4 door version they call a coupe but it isn't. Ill never understand BMW and Mercedes call some of their 4 door sport sedans coupe's but they do. Plus the M8 Competition is a true 2 door coupe

Does it still require valve adjustments? Does it still use a timing belt? Have they finally upgraded the transmissions? I own a 2003 MDX...I love the vehicle but the maintenance is a little much for most customers! The RDX does look awesome but I'm just curious about the maintenance requirements

Did Honda/Acura ever resolve the issues with the infotainment system? I haven't heard anything more about the class action lawsuit RDX owners filed.

I ask because I leased a 2017 RDX and when the lease was up the new RDX design had just been released. During my car research I learned of the lawsuit involving the infotainment system. Being a "tech guy" I expect things like the infotainment system to work. Due to Honda/Acura's failure to recognize and resolve this issue, I did not choose another Acura product. I probably never will.
David Moore yes they put out a software update in late December which fixed majority of the problem and added android auto, which the lawsuit stemmed from.
I read an article regarding that class action suit over the infotainment system. I am confused, how is the vehicle unsafe to operate if the infotainment screen freezes?? Did cars always have infotainment screens? And were they unsafe to operate back then? Its a defect that the owner should take back to the dealer to have it corrected. I cant see the jump those plaintiffs made to link the car to be unsafe. People seem to be just running around looking for something to sue for these days.

The design is very tight and that’s a good thing. They didn’t overdo the design. My only two concerns 1) Acura’s plummeting reliability and customer satisfaction 2) the complicated infotainment. No ventilated seats for a luxury brand?

I don't get the infotainment concerns - everything is pretty straightforward.
Nowhy look at reliability ratings for Acura in Consumer Reports annual ratings. That’s where I see it. Look at Acura’s annual sales numbers...they’re falling each and every year. That infotainment system isn’t straight forward. There are a lot more straight forwards and more intuitive systems than Acura...where do I get that information? Reviews and seeing it myself.
@@stevewise1656 I have looked into all of that, but can't replicate your findings.. Also many reviews are biased/bought, especially on Consumer Reports. The last time I checked, sales went up with the RDX, but indeed the MDX has problems with sales. Also like I said, other brands have it way worse, especially with reliably. Another thing is, that most infotainment issues have been fixed and the 2020 RDX has way less complaints, except the Lexus/Apple fanboys idiocity which can be found in so many market segment where there is tech involved - the killer criterions are often just laughable.
There is no perfect machine that is built by humans.

Lincoln Nautilus blows this out of the water. Acure just never got back into the game of luxury after it dropped the Legend.

The 2020 is the updated version. Would be wise to wait for the 2021 MDX, but the RDX has already been updated. Not sure why to wait?

Unfortunately the A-Spec model is not available with the heads-up display and that is unfortunate as it is the only way to get a digital speedometer.

@@amintalayarabyasooa You can order one and have it installed as an accessory by Acura. They just don't ship it with one from the factory.
Standard, Technology and Advance packages come with a spare tire. It's mounted under the rear of the car. For some reason the A-Spec package does not come with a spare, but rather has a can of fix-a-flat sealant. I imagine it's because of the different rear bumper design on the A-spec.
