    I was given a new 1300gs as a courtesy bike when I took my 1250 in for warranty work, no danger I’d spend the money on one, the 1250 is a far better looking bike and every bit as capable. I’m looking to order a new 24 plate1250gs while they’re still available.

    Hi Jack. I have owned 2 GSA’s 1200 1250 both great bikes. I sold both 😩 and bought a standard GS. However my ‘itch’ was for another GSA, that said i ordered a 1300 triple black at great expense. Now after seeing this video its changed my mind. I don’t want to be a ‘test’ dummy for finding faults. Your reviews are excellent and honest’a rarity’ these days. So off to my dealer-this morning and cancelled my order 🎉 and reordered a 1250 GSA triple black low ride, for £5.000 less than i was going to spend . You’re right the discounts offered are very very good currently. I want tried and tested bike not be a tester fault finder. I am well pleased thanks for posting. Good stuff 👍

      That’s a hell of a saving. You could buy a couple of the old Himalayans with the difference. And by the time you’re ready for a new bike the second generation of 1300 GS should be available 👍🏍️

    What a great review. I moved to a GSA from a GS , both Triple Blacks, at the end of last year.
    I loved my GS and I agree with you that it’s the better looking bike. I also agree with you on the brakes, Hayes V Brembo.
    I can’t feel a lot of difference between the two other than a little taller and spaying your legs a little more. I’ve yet to do a two up tour on the GSA and I think the more roomy passenger area maybe an advantage. Did amuse me at the weekend, filled up first thing , did a 280 miles day and had 60 miles left in the tank when I got home.

    I just sold my Triple Black GSA. Had it for a year and lots of good memories, but fully loaded with luggage and a full tank of fuel with the Mrs on the back it was just too heavy. Had serious anxiety coming to a stop sometimes. Never dropped it but the fear was always there! On my own it was totally fine though.

    I had a R1150GSA for 20 odd years and loved it. I went in to buy a 1300, but when I saw it in the flesh, I didnt like it, it has lost all the quirky lines on the 1250 and looked rather cheap and plasticky. I looked at a new 1250GSA, but a 1250 GS Ultimate in triple black caught my eye and I bought that. I am 67 and just don't need something as big and heavy as the GSA with a full tank, the 1250 GS is just right!

    Couldn't agree more with what you have said about the GSA. It's a bike that suits my needs over the years, do you need more power? I certainly don't. I have just traded my 2 year old Triple Black 1250 for a new Triple Black 1250 GSA, I wasn't looking to change just yet, but the deal was too good to say no too. Low cost finance available, new 3 year warranty, plus other incentives, it was a no brainer!!
    When the new GSA comes out later this year it will come with the associated price tag, and personally I have reached the limit of what I want to spend on a motorbike.

    • @motomogul
      @motomogul  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      I think a lot of people will double take the price tag. Approaching £25k for a 1300 fully loaded to the same spec as my GS is easily over £10k more than I could afford.
      I really dislike at the moment, the mentality of the bike manufacturers to keep inventing stuff and convincing people that they need it on a bike. I don’t use half the stuff on mine. They’d be better off making what’s already there better. Backlit switch gear and Apple CarPlay rather than the BMW app and connectivity.
      Personally, I never connect my phone to my bike, it’s such a rubbish system.

    • @peterlewis4978
      @peterlewis4978 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@motomogul Couldn't agree with you more, yes backlit switch gear would be nice on a bike of this quality, but in reality I only do about 2 night rides a year. As for adaptive cruise control, when I have to have a bike control my distance from the vehicle in front I will pack in riding, standard cruise control is good enough for me. I do like the idea of blind spot detection though, it's an extra safety feature on our busy roads, but I will manage without it for now.

    • @texlee1640

      @@motomogul It is terrible. I connect my phone to my Garmin Zumo XT2, I play music and take calls through there, a much better system. As a long time GSA rider, I have watched just about every video of the 1300, then saw it in person, sat on it, was offered a demo ride, then an extended demo ride, and had zero interest in doing either. Notably, I have a great relationship with my local Motorrad dealer.
    I’ll wait a few more months, until after the 1300 GSA is announced, and when BMW decides that they need to offload their 1250 GSA overstock. At least in the USA, after the stop sale, they have quite a few 1250’s sitting around. This should be a great time to get a decent discount, while my current GSA isn’t losing a lot of value any longer. It’s bottomed out on depreciation.
    Unless BMW absolutely hits a home run with the 1300 GSA, which is doubtful given the 1300 GS, the 1250 GSA will be my final rendition of the BMW adventure line.

    • @motomogul
      @motomogul  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      When I took this one back I parked it next to the 1300. The GSA looked so much better, so much more substantial. The 1300 looked very ‘average’ in comparison.

    Hi Jack, great video. When I brought my GSA and KTM Adventure, both with 30 l tanks, I decided that I would only fill the tank when touring and keep the weight down. It never worked had to fill it up every time and loved the fuel range regardless of where I was riding. The only time the full tank made a significant difference was when trying to ride fast on very slow and twisty roads, nearly all the types of road it felt perfectly ok. These days I am riding a Harley touring bike so the weight of the of a big adventure bike would probably feel insignificant. It's all about what you get used to.

    • @motomogul
      @motomogul  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It is a lot to do with getting used to the bike characteristics and the weight, but to me it just feels way too heavy when you’re trying to manoeuvre it around manually for me to want to live with. My GS feels exactly right for me.
      That’s not to take anything away from the GSA. It’s superb and super comfortable. For someone a bit taller than me, I’m only 5’8” on a very good day, even though this was a lowered version of the bike, it still felt like I would do a lot of struggling with a full tank. That’s before loading up for a trip.
      I think I made the right choice with my GS. Superb bike and it fits me perfectly. Which is possibly why I just don’t see anything to replace it with when I look at the current bike market 🤷🏼‍♂️🏍️👍

    I was in the market for a GS in March 23, I was looking for a GSA ex demo or very low mileage but…….
    BMW dealers were just not prepared to move on the price for a cash buyer, so there must be strong residuals on these boxer twins. Ended up with a Triumph Tiger 1200 GT Pro, it’s a nice bike, has its faults but the sweetener was the deal I just couldn’t refuse. On balance though the GS is the better bike, but it’s probably not quite as exciting on the road if you’re a fast rider (which I’m not 🤣).

    Not worth it, all that technology is good until you have to go maintenance. African Twin with basic tools you make the maintenance, have fun and save a lot of money.

    Good vid Jack. Never really been a fan of the gs. But as a road bike. Maybe. They do sound nice. Well that one just.
    I’m not really getting on with that Rebel.
    And not really sure if I’d pay this much for a bike. Although I had been looking at the rocket. Which is also above £20000…
    When I saw yours last. I also quite likes the look of that too..
    Who knows.
    But yeah.. great video. Great review… 👍👍

      Thanks buddy. They’re not everyone’s cup of tea and certainly not a looker but they are great to ride and make life on the road really simple.
      I love the Rocket but they’d be hard work to live with. 👍

    Oh no. Yeah I agree. A self driving bike.. what’s the point ???
    The fun in riding a bike is riding a bike..
    The only use I can see for that is. That it comes to meet you at the door. Warmed up and ready to go… that’s it.. 😂
    BMW….. Save your money. Nobody wants it. !!!

    I think you don’t really know what you’re talking about.
    Yes the 1250 is a great bike , But the 1300 hasnt just got a bigger engine it’s a totally new bike , New engine , new gearbox new chassis , lighter & new suspension & brakes.
    The 1250 production has stopped & the new bike is the 1300.
    There are no good deals to be had at the moment the cheapest R1250 GSA TE I could find anywhere brand new was £18,400 & the cheapest R1300 GS TE I could find was £18,200
    So you can actually get the newer bike cheaper if you pay cash & the newer bike has a few more things as standard.
    And I like the idea of the electric suspension going down at slow speeds eg below 15 mph , no need to buy low chassis GS.
    To sum up the only thing bmw is doing is different between the 1300 & 1250 price wise is the out old 1250 finance package eg PCP deal the old GD they are doing a 2.9% April deal or £1200 towards panniers.
    To me this isnt such a great deal as the old 1250 price will plummet compared to the new 1300
