Saturn Series is the truth!!!! Im a fan. I play on a Saturn Series every Sunday and the sound of that kit...even with old heads on it...is simply amazing!!! Next tour Im going with MAPEX!!!! Revamping my rider as we speak!
I really love my current Saturn Kit, and there are features about it that I think sonically I like a lot that they took away with the floor tom legs and kick spurs, but from a practical standpoint these look like they are built with the touring musician in mind a little more. Easier to get in bags, and an optional wrap finish. I don't understand why they are flaunting the ability to change the head on the mount...the old Saturns are set up that way two, just under the lug? Also, O'bro T shirt!
I would go the other way and ask about even lighter, more flexible hoops. The 2.3mm hoops are great, but something like an old 1.7mm would be harder to tune, but would really open up the drums.
very pretty drums and they sound awesome, BUT am I the only one worried about the screws that are in the tom mount bracket getting loose while playing? and what if they strip?
Should I buy the Mapex Black Panther Velvetone kit or the Mapex Saturn IV Exotic? Both look promising, but I don't know which one is better sounding and better looking.
The sonic clear mount does effect the toms sustain, don't believe me just call Mapex. Don't get me wrong I love all 3 of my Mapex kits but I won't buy a fourth until it's fixed.
Hello, I have been putting up some drum covers over on my channel using an amazing Saturn 4...great job mapex team
What is Rashid playing at the end? Absolutely love those progressions...
One from my upcoming album... Stay Tuned!!!
It really depends on the genre of music you play, but it would be great to have the right to choose between the two.

Its the red/blue hybrid sparkle like you thought,it's been told that kit does crazy things when lights hit it.
I've always loved the sound of my saturn kit and I'm sure this is a step further, but why you guys in Mapex never mount die cast hoops on your kits?
Love Rashid's kit!
such great drums!

unless it's the red blue hybrid sparkle? if so it looks nothing like it in the pictures
What finish is on rashids set? cause it isn't on the mapex site :/
This is true
What song is Nick playing at the end?
is it true that this set does not include a snare drum?
does anyone else think the finishes on these new kits are a bit odd and dramatic? there isnt really any classic bold colors or vintage sparkles?
thx
