Hatch looks like the stuffed toy/ imaginary friend who takes his kid on adventures, each adventure would teach the kid a new lesson (a kind of growing up series) with him eventually being assigned/ gifted to a new kid when the first is all grown up. I think that's kind of the plot Calvin and Hobbes (? The one with the boy and the tiger) but I would love to see Hatch plushies and books

I used to do this when I was a kid. Bonus that it’s a fun thing for friends and family and makes your pictures a sort of where’s waldo thing. You might think hidden details would expose more obvious flaws or lack of detail, but it doesn’t. Doesn’t matter what it looks like, the exercise is a fun conversation on both sides of the page.
