    If your boss won't let you WFH without a clear reason, you need to find a new job

    What sociopath only gets their human interaction needs met through work? Friends, family, hell I'm sure you've made better friends playing games with strangers having only voice chat than with most of your coworkers

    Nobody talking about the Real reason corps are forcing "back to the office". Real estate. Rich managers and executives who own houses near the office don't want their homes to depreciate in value - if the peons could work from anywhere and moved away.
    This is the reason every company that put out surveys had a majority if not 95% of employees say they would prefer full time remote work. Yet the higher ups who make the decisions have a house that's the shortest commute from office buildings. Those 5% are making the decision to screw the rest of everyone else not because offices create a 'collaborative' environment. It's selfish evil greed. Force all other workers to risk a car accident every day, pollute the environment, clog traffic, and pay unaffordable rents because they're financially secure but can never have enough.
    Do those surveys again, but link responses with their address and if they own or rent a house. You'll see who the minority is that is making the call to "bring employees back" and why!

      I respect your opinion.
      But I only worked from for 10 days during the pandemic and to be honest I hated it, couldn't get anything done, learned alot less and missed my office desk.
      If you don't want to come in, then fine stay at home.
      But when the promotion comes up just remember, I'm in early everyday (and its noticed ) , I talk to the CEO in person everyday, I'm seen to be working hard while you're forgotten at home, I have forstered real working relationships with management.
      You working from home only benefits me long term......
      Please feel free to enjoy your home office,
      Don't worry I'll enjoy the extra 50k ;)

      @@andrewliffey Why would you even take the time to write such an obvious sock puppet shill comment?
      Literally every human being reading this will know you are full of it. What an odd thing for a home owner living near the office to do.
      Why not stick with the line that people can't be as effective or even more effective at their job when remote - despite the fact that they demonstrably were over the last year and longer?
      That argument was REALLY selling well.

    I know interaction is important. We interact more than enough via wfh. The management does not understand that, to increase the interactions they are going reduce productivity and enthusiasm of the employees.

      I told them I had a respiratory infection and they expected me to be in as well.
      I told them I had bronchitis [WITH A NOTE FROM THE CLINIC], I had to do breathing treatments, was on 2 different steroids for 10 days and the idiot still was surprised that I wasn't in on Monday morning BUT I worked from home.
      Still wasn't good enough, they wanted me in the office to push envelopes. 😂😂😂

    Not doing the 1+ hr commute each way anymore. I can do what I’m expected to do no matter where I am. I connect fine with my colleagues remotely. Probably been better.

    Organizations save more money than they lose when their workers now pay for their own food, electricity, heat, water, and working space. As long as they're getting their work done (most data suggests this is happening), everyone wins...but workers should know exactly what their costs will be. Working from home causes some expenses to go up. Don't just calculate your monthly income minus your old commute. In some cases you may ask for a raise or an offset for your expenses.

    • @laupeter4594
      @laupeter4594 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Does that mean the employer can cut your pay for the portion of your commute and gas and oil fees?

    • @falsificationism
      @falsificationism 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@laupeter4594 that’s what many have been trying to do but wages (for now) are sticky to the upside. Some companies will simply fire and re-hire the same role back as a remote gig and pay the new position less than the old position.
