- How to meet Letho in The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt:
Grab ‘The Hall of the House of Reardon’ quest from the noticeboard in Lindenvale. Next door you’ll meet Dolores who will tell you a monster has moved into her manor. It’s your job to head over there and kill the monsters.
If you imported a save file in which Letho is alive or told Morvan Voorhis while on Main Quest: Imperial Audience that Letho isn’t dead, then you’ll find traps everywhere. Investigate a few to trigger a new quest ‘Ghosts of the Past’ and you’ll meet up with Letho.
If, on the other hand, Letho is dead, ‘Ghosts of the Past’ does not begin and you proceed with ‘The Fall of the House of Reardon’. You need to fight a handful of Wraiths and then head back to Dolores.

Surprised he didn't die from fall damage.
Geralt has a knee injury that couldn't be fully healed even by magic in the books, so the high falling damage actually makes sense.

I wish they mentioned that in the game, it was very disturbing while watching other people jump around and Geralt getting damage from almost every fall but when you know the injury it makes some sense..

I feel sorry for Letho. He was duped and double crossed, and has lived on the run since the second game. That poison looked as if it was the first time he'd slept in ages.

Maybe let Gaetan the Cat Witcher stay there too (if you decide to spare him anyway).

I just did this quest, took me by surprise lol. Letho is one of my favorite characters, I was yelling "Ohh shit!" when I saw him lol

I remember when I first encountered letho in the witcher 3. I played Witcher 2 and saw him in the trailer so I knew he was in the game. I was just randomly doing some contracts one day and, to my surprise, there he was. Easily one of the coolest/most memorable moments I've ever had in a game

Forgiveness goes a long way, especially when it leads to awesome quests hand-in-hand with friends you once called enemies.
I love how this game manages to fit so many different "genres" into it's quests.
From high fantasy; gothic terror and here we have essentially a Western.
Such great fun and so well made.

I don't really agree. Perlman has a great voice, but there's that slightly dysphonic twang in Letho's voice that fits his character and the way people underestimate him so much more.

Seems like the authors put in extra effort at fleshing them out, compared to those of most other characters.
“Scum usually float to the top” man, props to the writer who wrote this line. This game can always surprise me with amazing side quest and meaningful quote. Best game ever!
I wish Letho had a part in the Radovid assassination questline, considering his past. But since it’s easily possible to not have Letho in your game, I get why they couldn’t do that.

Btw, I love Letho. He's a badass darling. I could never kill him in Witcher 2. And when people start snapping at him at Kaer Morhen, I feel like bitchslapping everyone whenever they make a remark.
The continuation of my "rant" contains spoilers.
Letho has incredible survival instinct, high intelligence, would do anything for those he considers friends, extremely skilled in his profession... Also, he's probably stronger than Geralt. At the end of Witcher 2 you can kill him just because Geralt's story has to continue. He already beat Geralt mid-game, and not only did he let him live, but saved his woman - again, though it was Triss this time (when the Wild Hunt took Geralt, he cared for Yennefer even though she was a major pain in the ass), that is if you decide to either rescue Anais or lift the curse from Saskia, whichever path you took. And in Witcher 3, he gets into confronting the Wild Hunt for Geralt again, this time fighting to save Ciri - even though everyone are shunning him and generally treating him like crap.
However you look at it, Letho is there to help Geralt whenever his beloved ones are in danger - depending on whether you're a friendly character and play your cards right with good ol' viper. If you ditch him, he'll go his own way without a fuss. If you're there for him, he'll give his all to help you. Yeah, he has a bad rep of being a vicious killer. But he does nothing randomly. Just like he said: "You wanna kill me, but you don't even know me." In short, in my modest opinion, Letho is embodiment of coolness :D
Was so awesome to see Letho again. I let him live in Witcher 2 because even tho he killed Foltest who seemed like a decent King and was working for Nilfgaard, he had done Geralt a bunch of solid favors in the past and was forced to work for Nilfgaard just like Yennifer.
So I did not get the final boss battle but it's what I wanted for the characters, and then he comes back in witcher 3 and even joins your team. So cool!

Zyad Hakmi well.... his 2 friend died doing the job that is the whole TW2, which is supposed to bring hope to their school of viper. Now the very job itself makes him into a wanted man. He has no friends, hunted day and night, and no woman/romance interest. the very sole reason i pardon him in TW2 was, he has lost enough already, let the viper school be rebuild again. Whaddya know, the emperor is a dick, just like every noble in witcher
I'm pretty sure Witchers do have emotions but for the most part it's dampened and how much varies on the individual.
I kinda feel bad for straight up murderizing his ass in Witcher 2.
But he did kill Foltest. And in my playthroughs you don't mess with Temeria.

Reminder that in the books, the kings of the north gather in secret and come to the decision of searching for ciri in order to kill her because she's the last heir to the throne of cintra. they decide unanimously declaring that it needs to be "for reasons of state", foltest included. Geralt would have killed him if he knew since he himself said that he would kill in order to protect her.

Letho is perhaps the most loyal witcher ever to the cause. He literally burned the world to save his school, and he would always be reluctant to fight geralt even when you intend to bring him to justice. And on top of that he's a genious on steroids which is one of the most awesome character designs ever.

When he appeared in Witcher 2, you were supposed to hate him but as the story progresses youre slowly having simpathy on him. Hes one of the most developed characters in the franchise. Its like he would take his life for the sake of Geralt he even protected Yen whatever conciquences are. He also never even crossed in his mind that Geralt would be a foe.
This is an example of hardwork and passion of the game devs, writers and staffs.
Also you would hate him the moment he kidnapped Triss but take note he didnt meant harm he just want a faster transportation. Then if you think about it it's actually Triss's fault that she left in the protection of those kind trolls and she wouldnt have caught. I like Triss but the decision making for her path is quite all about endangering her.

Letho is not only a badass, but he also seems morally sound(in relation to most of the characters). Seems like the one other living Witcher that Geralt enjoys.
i love geralts interactions with fellow witchers, witchers have a hard life, they are reviled and hated simply for being different and despite the fact they risk their lives to provide a service people, would just as happily spit in their face. i feel sympathetic for letho wanting a place where the remaining witchers could live out their lives without fear of persecution. unfortunately, i feel as if that idea has come to late, what with the purges caused by the printing of the monstrum, war, loss of the secrets of the mutations (that ones complicated) and various rebellious schools being wiped out for going against the code (school of the cat and viper) there really isnt enough witchers left to justify lethos actions, theres 5 known living wolf school members, although its implied that there is at least another 2-3 roaming the world, the griffin school has a few members floating around as does the school of the cat. including letho, that makes what less than a dozen witchers in the north? maybe that again in nilfgaard? not really enough. the time of the witcher has come to an end

This game amazing history. I noticed that letho is worried here maybe because he is in dangerous and he thought that after his mission of killing the kings in the witcher 2 he could live a good peacefull life. Now he ask for Geralt's help and of course i helped my camarade
I find it hard to blame Letho for doing the things he did.He was like many heroes, doing what he thought was right. And even if he didn't do it, surely someone else would have done it instead.

Letho is one badass assassin. Kinda wish there could be a Witcher stealth game with Letho as the protagonist. Like Styx: Shards of Darkness, but in the Witcher universe.

I started with Witcher 3 and clicked random options for the simulated Witcher 2 save. I didn’t know that lethos appearance depended on it and was pretty sad to not see him on my next play through

He always seemed like he was in a position that any other witcher, including Vesemir but especially Lambert, could have been in during the story of Assassins of Kings, and just pitted against me (Geralt) by coincidence.
I didn't kill him in any of my plays through AoK, except once just to see how bad the fight would be (very) and then re-loaded and chose to leave him in peace.
I always thought I was in the vast minority for not disliking him. He kinda reminds me of what Dykstra might have been like as a Witcher.
+RicoLen1 Letho is freaking awesome, and you can sympathize with him. Unlike Geralt he could never find any real friends in the world. His school, the only place he could call a home, was destroyed because of the people's fear and hatred of Witchers. The prospect that he could have a home he could return to where he wouldn't be hated and ostracized for what he was was very tempting. He knew Emhyr could betray him, but like he said, he didn't really have anything to lose.
Not to mention the fact that he took care of Yennefer, someone very dear to Geralt.
Plus, let's not forget that he managed to fool the likes of Phillipa Eilhart and Sile de Tanserville, cunning women and master manipulators. I mean this guy derseves a shitload of respect.

one of things that bugs me about multiple choice games is that i swear there's supposed to be a canon route but giving choices to alter events is mainly for gameplay. I'm about to start another playthrough and im really stuck on what decisions i need to make when being shaved at the castle for events in witcher 2.
Clavitz Rain No, there isn't a 'canon route', *you* the player get to decide what is canon. Unless you consider the pre-made decisions by CDPR to be canon, but I don't. Really, decide whatever you want; you don't have to follow anyone's advice. Just make a decision and run with it, see what happens.
Razvan Musat I knew hardly nothing of what happened in the witcher 2 when i had to make my choices so i didnt know who Letho was so when i later found out that the last boss vid of watched of the witcher 2 was fighting Letho i was thrown off by seeing Letho in witcher 3.

are their any really good choices though when being shaved at the castle? after reading how Letho is overall from some discussions here it seems that it doesn't make sense for geralt to have fought him in the witcher 2 so his appearance in witcher 3 makes better sense.
Clavitz Rain Because of Letho, Geralt had been wrongly accused of assassinating a king and because of that Geralt went through a lot of trouble to restore his name. Not to mention the fact that Letho was the spark that started the whole war between Nilfgaard and the Northen Realms, so you could say Geralt has good reasons to fight him. But it all boils down to how you perceived the character; you either hated him, or liked him. There is no middle ground.
Like I stated above, make a choice on a whim and see what consequences it has.

I know right? Plus he's one of the few witchers/characters that can actually beat Geralt in a fight. The guy is a total badass.

Awsome idea: spinoff game, play as letho from the witcher 2 kill kings and fight geralt. Then later get offered to stay at the witcher school, help geralt defend it. To sum it up play letho side of the story even start with a prequel with references to the witcher 1
I didn't cross my path with him on the first walk through, now i was so amazed with him and he said was heading to kaer morhen after I helped him

I'm playing on PC, imported my save from Witcher 2 where I spared him, but I still got the 'The Fall of the House of Reardon’ quest instead. Is this a glitch or do you have to explicitly go out of the way to tell Morvan Voorhis (who I had no reason to trust at that point) that Lethos isn't dead?

+FluffyNinjaLlama woooooow, god damnit! I deliberately spared Letho at the end of Witcher 2 and was really looking forward to seeing him in the Witcher 3. But just because I did the logical thing of not telling the Nilfgaardians that he was still alive in the hope of protecting him I get hardcore punished by him ceasing to exist.
If you planning to load your TW2 save file, your save that you need to load is the one that post final battle not the pre final battle because TW3 considered Letho dead as default.
Did the same thing, even loaded the post final battle save that isn't necessarily the last one. It's a known bug. I just chose the simulated save option where you just tell a scribe near the beginning what all your choices were in the last game.
Ah shit, I just found out the same happend to me, Letho was my favourite character from W2, ive completed most of Velen and Novigrad so I wondered where he can be found. honestly I don't even remember those questions at the beginning.
