Hey, word of advice, leave gkr..go find yourself a proper traditional shotokan dojo like JKA or a
Goju ryu dojo..GKR is very weak, you'll know exactly what I mean after just one lesson at a real karate school

As a karate student Who does both sport karate and kyoshin id say to do both, you get resistence, you get FASTER, and in general you have fun, then If you want you can do kyoshin to get real strong@@rxj0765

    Why HALO THEME????

Nowadays, kumite has become so stupid... I see people celebrating points, looking at referee instead of keeping an eye on the opponent. They are like, look look my hand touched them, look look my leg touched the opponent.

Yeah even i hate this point scoring fights. I always love to see full contact fights like the kyokushin style fighting 😉

They have a lot of foot work that makes very hard to hit them and also is hard to read their moves. All this takedowns and sweeps are very usefull in MMA or a street fight and they are calculating the distance of their strikes to don't really hit the opponent face but get closer as possible with a fast and powerfull technique, this is very hard to do and sometimes go wrong and knockout happens like in 2:03 and 2:27

@Ard Tru sorry but i can't agree with you. I'm Karate Black belt and have compete and many tournaments, i already get knockout and already knockout my opponent too in championships. The training is hard and combine with other martial arts this became the ultimate martial art. Just see pointfighters that have sucess in MMA like Michael Page, Steven thompson, Machida brothers and many others, even great Champion like conor mc Greggor and henry Cejudo are mixing Karate or Point sparring techniques in their styles.

@Ard Tru anyway, a guy get punch in the face and falls to the ground at 2:03 ask him if this punch was real enought to him.

    • @TiagoPortas

@Ard Tru what you want to prove with this video? The karate guy have better technique and sweeps the boxer a couple of times, he could even boxing better than the boxer LOL.
Look, i think i get it. You had a shit teacher and a shit school, you are frustrated with your karate and think karate sucks to confort yourself with this feeling but is not.
I am a BJJ blue belt and earned my belt training here in Rio in a MMA gym. I already spar with boxers, Kickboxers and MMA praticioners and i check that they dont understand karate stances, makes them confuse and help me to hit them and not get hit back.
What is realistic to you? Boxing? They can't kick, knee, elbow, grab, takedown or hit your opponent in the ground... they just can punch each other, this is not real. Or any kind of grappling like BJJ or Wrestling, is also unrealistic because vou can't hit your opponent with any kind of strike and sometimes we see embarassing positions (like you say about kiai) so that os not real too.
MMA is the only combat sport closest to the reality.
