2 Lesser Known Outlaws of the Wild West...

  • One of the most prominent aspects to life on the American frontier was the ominous atmosphere of lawlessness that followed folks across the Mississippi River and into the territories of the wild west. While there was an undeniable presence of the US Government in many large establishments dotted throughout the frontier, such as army forts and major trading centers, smaller settlements weren’t as fortunate. This allowed for homesteaders and communities all across the western United States to feel vulnerable as bandits and criminals scoured the lowest of valleys and highest of hillsides to take advantage of the unprotected and make a living in a world where winners take all.
Some of these infamous outlaws included the likes of Jesse James and Billy the Kid, popular figures of the wild west’s heyday that staked their claim to fame via ruthless train robberies, invigorating gunfights, and more often than not, cold blooded murder in the name of glory and riches. However, the western frontier was too massive for only a few fabled criminals to take all of the gold and greatness for themselves. Alongside the major players were hundreds of smaller bandits, sometimes individuals who had once teamed up with the larger than life names only to leave the posses and make a go of it by their lonesome. To understand their role on the American Frontier and get a better picture into the lives of the gunfighters we rarely speak of, here are 2 lesser known outlaws of the wild west, with fascinating backstories in their own right.

Cape buffalo or Black death is an African animal, it's one of the big five, including elephant, lion, leopard, and Rhino.

What a vid!! I have an old Reader’s Digest book called “Scoundrels & Scalawags” that this very much reminded me of. It tells a lot of lesser-known tales of infamy.

*5'7" really was not considered short, particularly when the average height for men was 5'"10 - 5'11" back then.* Women's average height was 5'3" - 5'4"., and the average shoe size for Women was a size 5 - 6, now it's 7 - 8, likely pushing 8 - 9.

Actually average height today in USA is 5' 9". Average in 1800s was 5' 6"-7".

@FootprintsOfTheFrontier I would really enjoy a video of James "Jimmy" Roberts (1852-1925) He has such an interesting story and I'm sure you'd find lots of information on him!

I like that technology by moving the picture but I believe it's been around for quite a while now anyway you read pretty good pretty well you read well however I don't really want to hear a book on these people if I did I would probably go get the book at the least I would get a audiobook secondly with all that's going on on the screen especially when you use the picture movement I get distracted because I'm looking at every little detail to see how well it's fit together and so I can't really listen to the commentary or the book reading I give you a C-
