  • Cowboys lived lives defined by hard work, community, agriculture, commerce, and maybe a sprinkle of danger thrown in, depending on where and when you were leading the life as a wrangler. To explore more about the historical context of cowboys and the men and women who represented these icons, here is the first in a series of video essays focusing on specific cowhands who symbolize the profession’s significance to the story of the United States of America. First up, the legend of Nate Love, also known as Deadwood Dick and the greatest Black cowboy in all of the West.

I just can't believe shooting a target at 150 yards with a pistol

That was my thought when even with todays improved ballistics and sights I don't believe it's possible on a consistent basis, especially considering those were black powder with a blade and a small notch for rear.🤔🧐

Cowboys was the word used as a derogatory to identify the black men that worked on cattle ranches.

My fav outlaw is Billy the Kid; the dude is was just trying to survive in a violent territory ; also, he had a colourful, upbeat personality and was bilingual, plus he knew how to read and write, both he and Nate had same skills, they were friends or got along?
