This is my radiation doctor at Florida Proton Institute. I strongly reccommend a consultation with him for any man with a prostate cancer diagnosis and is searching for treatment options.

Loma Linda Children's Hospital initially was the first institution to use proton radiation therapy for children with brain cancer. This was in the early 1990's. The cost to build the entire system then was over $250 million dollars. The treatment went on address prostate cancer..if found early, proton radiation which leaves little or no after effects was significant in the treatment. Because of the cost to build the entire system, only a few hospitals-institutions have this capability. This should be your first option in your information and discovery process.

Bill, how are you today. Are there any side effects you had compared to other treatments? I always see positive reviews on proton related therapy. Have you come across any feedback that the treatment was not successful on some? Just curious. Thanks.

I'm 45 with prostatecancer, what if any short term and long term problems exist for proton radiation therapy?

It's too bad no expert has replied to your question, since you are in your 40's and dealing with this. I hope you are well.
