Congrats! I’ve filmed episodes of a few TV shows for HGTV and Discovery, and what 2 of those shows’ hosts told me is that they were convinced to host the shows for fairly low compensation, with the promise of higher pay after 2 (maybe it was 3) seasons. Before the higher pay kicked in the shows were cancelled. Apparently there’s an unlimited number of people wanting to host TV shows, and the sleazy producers get them very cheaply then kick them to the curb before they have to pay them real money. Be careful!

I'm so glad to see you progressing like this. I think this will help get more people to start woodworking. This is so important because woodworking isn't being taught in our "pubic" schools the way it used to be. Thanks for furthering the cause.
Congratulations! You definitely deserve this. I discovered your channel during the COVID lockdown of 2020. I work for a major health insurance company, and our medical directors saw it coming. So they sent us home a month before anyone else knew what was about to happen, and told us to “go to ground” until further notice. The mental health group also suggested that we cope with the isolation by learning a new hobby. I am a single-homeowner, and while I have always been good with my hands, I witnessed a bad table saw accident when I was young. As a result, I have a deeply entrenched fear of table saws. So I decided to use the lockdown to overcome that fear and learn to build cabinets and furniture. I adopted you and Jane of See Jane Drill as my coaches, and by the end of the summer, I had finished the interior of my garage (insulation, drywall, and paint), created a French cleat system for my tools, and built storage for my art studio. You are an AWESOME teacher and woodworker! Thank you for all that you do, and I can’t wait to see the show.

Tom Silva finds time to do TV and TH-cam, I'm sure Jason could to, I think the key is to have people do everything for you except the thing you're showing. There's also AI now that'll help you brainstorm idea's that actually works, it can write unique scripts but I think it'd remove the emotion.

Jason, I watched the show. I was sad to see it wasn’t about you. The editors showed what your contractors could do and glossed over your abilities. Watching, without knowing you, these people built a structure and you jacked up a table. It may just be me, there are too many house reno shows. We want to see sawdust flying! More of a “New Bourbon Workshop” vibe. That said, much innovation went into this project and it turned out great. When your son’s friends showed up, he looked like the king of the world! More power to you for being a great dad!

The makers channel on Roku he has a show
It’s on the Apple TV app but not on discovery + app. Disappointing as I was looking forward to watching
I just looked for it and could only find it on sling tv (not subscribed). It was supposed to be on Hulu but could not find it.

This was great! Most entertaining build show I've seen next to Dude Dad! I lived in Oregon city, west linn and pdx for about 8 years. Beautiful area. I love the humor you're bringing to build shows and the joy you're showing in raising your adorable son.

Very happy for you to have that opportunity!. One ask is please don't stop with your YT channel and projects and only do the TV show if it takes off....not everyone has the funds to pay for the Magnolia network channel... Just a thought.
